There were three people that were constantly a pain in the ass for everyone to deal with. The first was Nawaki, he had grown even more egotistical and arrogant over the years. Nobody knew where it came from, he really wasn't that good. Sure he was the rookie of the year but the only other real option for that spot was Shino, who just didn't want to be at the top. Nawaki hadn't really changed much besides that. His sisters constantly tried to get him to eat better and not always go to Ichiraku's but he wouldn't listen. He had eating habits similar to Choji's and a body to match. Minato would probably make his children minus Naruto a team though, because Kushina wanted to come out of retirement and become a sensei.

The fangirls as they were called were Ino and Sakura. They had some potential, but always swooned over who was at the top of the class. It was a major headache to hear those screeches everyday.

Naruto didn't even have to think, "I would prefer not to have any of Hokage-sama's children on my team, but other than that I don't really care."

"I really hope they put us together" Hana and Naruto smiled at that thought.

It was at that moment that Iruka and Mizuki came back in.

"Congratulations for everyone who passes the exam this year. For those who didn't, please try harder next year so that you do. Everyone who passed please come back here tomorrow at 9:00 AM for your team placements. You're dismissed!"

After Iruka's words everyone started filing out of the classroom.

Hana decided to continue their conversation as they walked before they parted ways, "So what are you two going to do to celebrate?"

Satsuki and Naruto looked at each other for a moment, "Naruto-nii and I are probably going to go out to eat with Kaa-chan. What are you going to be doing Hana-chan?"

Hana sighed, "I'm probably going to go out with Kaa-san and Kiba. I'll have to sit through her scolding Kiba about how he barely passed and needed to apply himself more so that he won't embarrass our clan, being the clan heir and all."

They finally made it outside the academy and saw all of the parents waiting there.

Naruto spotted Mikoto, "Well this is where we part ways for now. We'll see you tomorrow Hana" with that they left and made their way to Mikoto, however luck was just not on their side.

They were cut off by Narumi and Natsuki as they were walking towards Mikoto.

Satsuki's eyes hardened. She and Natsuki had never gotten along, from what Naruto could gather it all started that time when he was in the hospital.

Natsuki decided to speak, "U-um Nii-san congratulations on graduating. We were wondering if you wanted to come and celebrate with us and the rest of the family. Even Tsunade-sama and Jiraiya-sama will be there?" Narumi could only face palm at her sister's way of asking. Why would she tell him that some of the very people that caused him all of this pain were going to be there.

Narumi sighed, "What she means is we want to celebrate passing the academy with you Nii-san. Just the three of us, you don't have to even come back to the compound."

Satsuki was about to say something when she was cut off by Naruto, "I appreciate the offer Narumi, Natsuki, but I already have plans to celebrate with my family...among other things."

They both left before they could see the hurt expressions on the face's of the blonde and redhead.

Mikoto was worried when Kushina's daughters walked up to Satsuki and Naruto. Those two girls had some sort of brother complex for their own blood related brother. More importantly they wanted to stop Her Naruto-kun from spending time with her. So she was happy when she saw the two ravenettes walking to her.

"Congratulations on graduating you two! How was the test?"

Satsuki grunted, "Hn. It wasn't that hard. I'm surprised that's all it takes to become a shinobi of the village."

"Hokage-sama seriously needs to raise the requirements to become a shinobi. I'm pretty sure I got a perfect score in everything."

Mikoto could only sweatdrop at the responses she got.

Naruto needed something that he had been waiting years to do, "Actually I have something that I need to do before we celebrate."

This confused the two women, "Well then mind if we come along and celebrate right after?" Mikoto asked curiously.

Naruto only shrugged. He grabbed both of their shoulders and disappeared in a flash using Shisui's specialized Shunshin.

When they got to their destination Mikoto and Satsuki were confused as to why they were in front of the Department of Records in the Hokage Tower.

Naruto walked up to the lady at the front desk, she immediately recognized Naruto, "Ah Naruto-sama! What brings you to this section of the tower?"

Naruto smirked, "As you can tell from my hitai-ate I am now a shinobi of Konoha and now legally an adult. I am here for a legal request form to change my name." The woman's and the Uchiha's expressions were ones of shock.

"I had plan to do this a few years ago, but I would have to have been emancipated to do that and doing so would draw far too much attention, not to mention Hokage-sama would never allow it."

The woman knew of the estranged relationship between the family and Naruto but she didn't think it was this bad. Nonetheless she handed Naruto the form, "Very well. You seem sure of this and it is my job to overlook this legal matter."

Naruto filled out the form slowly, he had been waiting three years to fill out this exact document, and when he was finished he signed the bottom and handed it back to the woman.

She read the paper and raised an eye at the name he had chosen, "Portgas D. Naruto?"

Naruto nodded.

"Very well. I will enter this name into the village's system and change your shinobi license to fit this name."

Naruto thanked the woman and left the building with Mikoto and Satsuki, still a little confused at what they had just witnessed.

Mikoto chose to speak, "Um Naruto-kun? What was was all of that about?"

Naruto smiled softly at her, "That was me getting rid of the final thing that tied me to the Uzumaki-Namikaze family. This day marks the death of Uzumaki-Namikaze Naruto and the birth of Portgas D. Naruto."

Satsuki hugged him tightly, knowing how much he hated bearing that name. Mikoto had one final question though.

"Where does the Portgas D. come from?"

Naruto stopped walking and stared into the sky, "From the only man that I will ever call my father. But that is a story for another day." He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the Akamichi's barbecue restaurant, "For now it's time to celebrate!"
