16 Chapter 16 : Ambush (2)

Even his world was the same, war, conflict these words have always existed since humanity is humanity.

But it was in this life that he began to make him understand better what was really the horror of this words.

They went through the forest at full speed without managing to lose the pursuers, making them more and more nervous.

"One of our pursuers is approaching at full speed, at this speed he will catch us soon!!!"

Mihara and Komuro hearing this became immediately more vigilant and unconsciously accelerated their steps.

"He's only a mile away from us what are we doing?"

Ina said nervously as Komuro frowned thoughtfully.

"Let's stop and ambush him."

Koumura and Ina turned their eyes to Mihara who had a facial expression that left no room for doubt.

"That would be taking an unnecessary risk."

Ina shook her head at Mihara's proposal and looked at her before sighing deeply.

"We have no choice, there are too many of them, if the person chasing us manages to slow us down even by a few minutes we'll be surrounded quickly."

"And even if they don't catch up with us, the fatigue, the weather and the terrain play against us, it would only be a matter of time before we get caught up without forgetting that they must have some Jonin on their side, the person who is getting closer can even be a Jonin with such a speed, I guess he must be a master in a ninjutsu such as the body flicker."

"An ambush would waste more time and besides we have no guarantee of success."

Ina interrupted Mihara while looking at him with a slight frown, Mihara stopped inmediately surprising the other two who also stopped a little further.

"We are responsible for what happened earlier if we were stronger the captain and the others would not have been forced to sacrifice themselves."

"Go if you wish, but there is no way I am risking my life on a road that can only lead to my downfall, the captain and the others died for us when they could have simply run away, with their speed and experience running away would have been difficult but they surely would have made it I don't intend to waste the chance they offered me."

"You..."

Ina looked at him through clenched teeth as tears slid down her cheeks Komuro closed his eyes thoughtfully for a very brief moment before opening them again and pulled the scroll Kondo had given him out of his pocket and threw it to Mihara.

"We'll follow your idea, we'll kill our attackers before their reinforcements come, then we'll split up to cause confusion, since it's your idea I'm entrusting the scroll to you, you alone will bear the failure of this mission if your idea fails."

Mihara took the scroll that weighed heavily in her childish hand and put it back in his backpack.

Ina calmed down and looked at him for a moment, then sighed and asked.

"How do you do this?"

. . . . . .

A few minutes a woman in a dark outfit wearing a white mask and a Kiri forhead protector stopped on a tree branch and looked down at the footprints embedded in the mud which suddenly stopped as if the owners of these footprints had vanished.

She quickly made several seals with her hands as if she wanted to perform ninjutsu.

At that very moment thunder rumbled in the sky and illuminated the forest for a brief moment, the woman's pupils contracted, she stopped executing the series of seals and executed a single seal with one of her fingers.

[INinpo: The foggy steps.]

Her body was instantly covered with fog and she moved at full speed more than 30 meters away dodging Mihara falling from the top of a nearby tree and slicing the tree branch cleanly.

"Shit."

He whispered before jumping towards the kunoichi who pulled a Kunai from her back pocket

"Just one kid? No there are three footprints his two teammates must be hiding ready to attack me."

The kunoichi focusing her attention on Mihara became more cautious of her surroundings ready for any surprise attack.

At the same time two kunai shooting from different directions threw towards her.

She dodged them easily and jumped from the tree branch she was on dodging a slash from Mihara.

"Damn kid, let's get rid of him first and deal with these two teammates later."

She quickly executed several seals but before she could finish her actions a young man came out of the tree behind her and spat a fireball in her direction.

[Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique]

She regained her composure and finished her seals, the surrounding rainwater gathered and took the form of a dragon that swallowed the fireball thrown by Kuromo before evaporating in an instant.

A thick fog covered her and she went at full speed towards Kuromo whose sight was blocked by the steam created by the impact of the two ninjutsu.

Mihara saw the woman disappearing in the cloud of steam and understood immediately that she was going to attack Kuromo.

"Ina now!"

The kunoichi appeared at extreme speed behind Kuromo and holding him a kunai stabbed his back.

But it was at that very moment that she heard Mihara's scream and saw a young woman emerge from the foliage of the tree as her hands were clasped together as if she had just finished a series of seals.

[Water Style: Liquid Bullets]

Ina spat out a ball of extremely compressed water that passed through the void and hit the kunoichi full force carrying her away before throwing her shattered body against a tree in the distance.

"Haha that was close I almost passed, well done Ina."

Kuromo laughed with a sigh as Ina came to his side.

Ina saw the silly smile on her partner's face and wanted to speak, but before she could say a word she and Kuromo heard Mihara's voice coming towards them.

"Behind you!!!"
