Scum

Kakashi wasn't actually gone. He was observing the trio this whole time from a tree not so far away.

After seeing them feed Sasuke, he flickered back out and appeared in front of the three with an angry face while asking: "You three! You defied the rules, so that means you know what's coming…"

He did a few hand signs and summoned a storm cloud using a water jutsu to show how ominous the situation is.

"Do you have something to say before you all are disqualified?" He asked, looking enraged.

Both Naruto and Sasuke looked afraid. They were afraid that they really messed up, and they were afraid that they were going to be sent back to the academy for breaking the rules.

Yasui looked around the field that had turned dark, and he couldn't really see the face of Kakashi. Hence, he did some hand seals.

This made Kakashi question what the perverted kid is up to. Why isn't he showing a concerned look after breaking the rules?

"Lighting Style: Fluttering Light Technique" This was one of the techniques that Yasui developed for fun. It had no attack power, but it could be used to create a majestical scene.

He opened his palm, and little specks of lights jumped out one after another, enveloping all of them inside a sphere of light.

Even with the dark grey clouds in the sky turning the world dark, the area around them lit up with the many tiny lights that are flickering and dancing around like fireflies. The little lightning specks moved around randomly, illuminating the otherwise dark field with a golden glow.

Those little lightning specks were having a ball, creating a beautiful and mesmerizing spectacle. There is even music playing–in the form of little buzzing sounds from the lightning specks. This created a rather awe-inspiring and calming atmosphere.

"This…" Kakashi felt a little flabbergasted. He felt that the thinking process of Yasui is a little weird.

He's also a little amazed at the technique–even if it does not have any power suitable for a ninja attack technique.

"Kakashi Sensei." Yasui looked at Kakashi's face that's lit up by his little lightning specks.

Kakashi looked back at Yasui, feeling a little dissatisfied that his dark mood play was dismembered by Yasui.

"You can say that we've broken the rules, and I will gladly accept the punishment for instigating this rule breakage. But, I want to say just one thing." Yasui's face turned serious, imitating a certain scene in his mind.

"And that is?" Kakashi wondered what the trick is here.

"In the shinobi world, those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum." He reiterated the famous quote that changed Kakashi's life.

Kakashi felt his soul tremble when he heard Yasui's words. They were exactly like the words that his deceased friend once said.

He took a deep look at Yasui once more, and he couldn't help but fit Obito's image over Yasui. In the aspect of their beliefs–Yasui is indeed like Obito.

Kakashi took a deep breath and an overjoyed look appeared on his face.

"I see... You all pass!" He shouted out happily.

"Whaaat?" Naruto opened his mouth and tilted his head, baffled.

Sasuke also looked at Kakashi. He didn't understand why Kakashi's mood switched so quickly. Was it the thing that Yasui said?

Kakashi's storm cloud jutsu quickly dispersed, and Yasui's fluttering lights also disappeared when the sunlight came back.

"You guys are the first. Up until now, it was always just dunces who would meekly listen to what I said. A ninja must see through deception. What Yasui said is correct… Those who break rules and codes are scum, but those who didn't cherish their friends are worst than scum!" Kakashi stared up at the dispersing clouds as he recalled his deceased friends.

Naruto cried, moved by Kakashi's speech. He felt that it is awesome to have such a person as a sensei! It's also at this time that he felt there is another person in the village who will surely accept him as who he is.

Sasuke also smiled, acknowledging Kakashi as the sensei that will lead him in his ninja life. He also looked at Yasui and thought about the things that they spoke of.

"That's it for this exercise! Everyone passes! Team Seven starts their missions tomorrow!" Kakashi gave everyone a big thumbs up.

"Yes!! I did it!! I'm a ninja now! Ninja!!" Naruto celebrated.
