2 Aspirations

At first, Yasui wanted to wait and give the Anbu a great show by pretending to be shocked and scared. However, he got incredibly bored and fell asleep. After all, who can stand staying in the same place for a whole hour?

He even switched positions and used Sasuke as a pillow while Sasuke's face is flat on the ground. If asked, he could just change his alibi story about meeting Itachi after Sasuke and falling into a Genjutsu. It sounds better than his previous story of PROTECTING Sasuke anyways.

Before long, the geezers of the village finally decided to act and the Anbu began their investigative work around the Uchiha clan compound. It wasn't long before Yasui and Sasuke were found.

An Anbu with spiky silver hair stood in front of the two fainted Uchiha kids and checked their pulses. If Yasui is awake, he would've guessed that this Anbu member is Kakashi. Other than him, which Anbu in the village has spiky silver hair?

In their deep sleep, Yasui and Sasuke were transported to the Konoha hospital to be treated. Both of them didn't even realize that they have moved locations.

On the other hand, the Root and Anbu members were extremely busy investigating, and they relayed all information back to Danzo and the Hokage. They did not even know that this massacre is a part of the higher-ups' plan.

When Hiruzen–the Third Hokage– received news of the Uchiha's silent massacre, he lightly sighed and smoked his tobacco pipe in the Hokage office. He knew that Itachi had successfully helped the village avert a coup, and all he has to do now is to take care of the two remaining Uchiha members.

One of them is Itachi's little brother, Sasuke.

The other is the little brother of Shisui of the Body Flicker.

It's just that... He did not expect that all of the clan member's eyes would be dug out. His best guesses are that either Danzo's hands got itchy or that Itachi had taken those eyes.

Regardless… It isn't his problem. But, he would have to remove Danzo from his position as the second in command! After all, he is well aware that it's Danzo's plan to order Itachi to kill the Uchiha clan in order to stop them from starting the coup.

Furthermore, he speculated that it was also Danzo who assassinated Shisui and prevented the Kotoamatsukami plan.

Inside Root headquarters.

"Damn that Itachi!" Danzo slammed his walking stick on the floor after listening to the root member in front of him.

He wanted those Sharingans! He needs them to become powerful! He didn't think that Itachi would go as far as to destroy all of the Uchiha clan member's eyes!

Danzo looked at his right arm and trembled slightly.

"Go look for any eyes that may have been left intact! Search the entire Uchiha compound!" He yelled and turned around. His plans to embed the Sharingans into his right arm had been destroyed! All of those Sharingans that he could've experimented on were gone!

"Yes, sir!" The root ninja was about to flicker out, but his eyes suddenly changed into that of a blood-red Magekyo Sharingan, staring at Danzo through the mask of the root ninja.

"I witnessed everything, Danzo. And I will continue to watch. If you lay your hands on Sasuke or Yasui, I will pass on classified village intel to every enemy nation." The Sharingan was disappeared and the root ninja passed out.

"Itachi…" Hearing this message from Itachi, Danzo opened his mouth in shock. It seems that Itachi's ability is stronger than ever, even able to put his root ninja into a Genjutsu.

In the early morning, the culprit behind the missing Sharingans opened his eyes in the hospital. Sasuke also woke up around the same time. Both of them were in the same ward, sleeping in different beds. As this was a freak case, people were already on standby when they woke up.

Nurses checked up on both Yasui and Sasuke, but they found nothing majorly wrong. For him, the nurses and doctors came to the conclusion that he is just exhausted. On the other hand, they found that Sasuke is suffering from trauma, and he is also suffering from Chakra disruptions–a sign that showed that someone was put under a strong Genjutsu.

Both of them were immediately interrogated by an interrogation squad. Their minds were obviously not searched as this could have heavily damaged their souls. They might even become idiotic vegetables afterward.

Yasui was also relieved that this didn't happen. The shinobi world's soul-searching ability is extremely strange. If they read his memories, perhaps they might even learn about the truth behind the modern world. They might even learn the truth behind this world!

Yasui shivered just thinking about it. No matter what, he would never allow his soul to be searched. His memories are his biggest secret, and they are also his ultimate trump card in this world.

That said, the interrogation did not go for too long. Both his and Sasuke's story aligned with what they have found out so far. Hence, the investigation team left shortly after so that they can rest.

"Yasui, I want to kill Itachi and avenge the clan." Sasuke declared as he clenched his teeth and fists. His Sharingan activated subconsciously, and hatred emerged ominously in his face.

"..." Yasui wanted to jump up and smack Sasuke's head for telling him such a thing. He already knew what Sasuke wanted, and he didn't want anything to do with killing Itachi.

"What about you, Yasui? Do you… also want to kill Itachi!?" Sasuke turned his head and asked, filled with anger.

"No, Sasuke. Itachi Isn't my target." Yasui couldn't go along with Sasuke's vengeful play and gave him a scowl. The real target shouldn't even be Itachi in the first place. Sasuke is just simply drowning in ignorance.

Hearing Yasui's reply, Sasuke is extremely shocked. Itachi had just murdered their whole clan, but Yasui did not want to get revenge. Did the clan's annihilation have that much of an impact on him?

But still… for Yasui to reject him!!

"Damn you! Do you not care about the clan!? Do you not want to hunt down the murderer of your relatives!? The people who you lived alongside with!?" Sasuke stood up and waved his hand in extreme rage. His bright red Sharingan stared directly at Yasui, threatening him with its bright red aura.

Still feeling a little glum for being stabbed to death recently, Yasui did not back down. He activated his Sharingan, and he stood up from his bed before yelling back at Sasuke: "I don't care about Itachi, Sasuke! I have my own goals! My own ideals! You need to understand that not everything is as you think it is! How about you do your thing for now, and I do my own thing!?"

After seeing the Sharingan in Yasui's eyes, Sasuke's mouth hung open as he didn't know what else to say. (Sasuke isn't even aware that he activated and deactivated his Sharingan)

The clan's massacre definitely had a big impact on Yasui, enough to even awaken his Sharingan!

Sasuke thought as he turned his head away. He also took a step back and laid back down on his bed. Since they have different goals, then there's no need to talk any further! They can simply shoot for their own goals and not bother each other!

But... What does Yasui mean by saying 'for now'? He wondered.

Yasui snickered at Sasuke and also sat back down on his bed after deactivating his Sharingan.

What Yasui wanted from Sasuke right now is for him to not bring up his revenge ambition around him. His real short-term goal is to kill that old man Danzo and retrieve Shisui's Magekyo Sharingan.

This is his only surefire way to make sure that he will be able to obtain the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Without his older brother Shisui's eyes, his only hope might be to transplant Fugaku's Sharingan, but that by itself isn't guaranteed to give him the eternal eye since their blood relation isn't that close.
