"I've come to let you know I'm back. I am ready to go on missions again." Naruto said.

Tsunade was nodding her head in approval, but she also had a sad expression on her face.

Noticing her sad expression, Naruto asked curiously, "Why are you upset? Did something happen?"

"J- Jiraiya, he d- died." Tsunade said in a shaky voice.

"Huh? How so? How was it?" Naruto said in surprise. But at the same time, he guessed how he died. He still wondered if it was like in the canon.

"He… went to Amegakure. For information about Pain, the leader of Akatsuki." Tsunade said.

Then her voice trembled even more as she continued to speak, "But he couldn't keep up with Pain, and he was killed."

"Why did he go on such a dangerous mission?" Naruto asked.

"He said he had learned important information and therefore wanted to go to Amegakure to learn more about Pain." Tsunade said.

"Well then, I'll see you tonight." Naruto said and then went to a secret place where he could be alone.

"Jiraiya is dead. The next event in the canon is Pain's destruction of Konoha. But it is not clear whether everything will go according to it. After all, Zetsu more or less knows my strength. That's why he doesn't allow Pain to do such a risky thing. After all, if Nagato dies, there is a very good chance that your plans will be ruined." Naruto thought.
