10 Library

I'm walking to the library right now.

Today was quite a fruitful day;

First, thanks to looking at the states of Anko and Iruka, I have a pretty good idea about the stats of each Shinobi rank.

1-10 for civilians.

11-49 for the Genin.

50-99 for the Chuunin.

100-149 for the Tokubetsu-Jounin.

150-199 for the Jounin.

200-249 maybe for a low level Kage or the Sannin.

250-299 for the Kage.

I say "Maybe" because I have not found anyone with those statistics and I can only guess thanks to the pattern of the others.

Second, I got the [Shurikenjutsu] and [Sprint] skill.

And maybe, you can count the compensation Anko owes me.

'I hope this place gives me surprises too. ' I thought as I gazed at the library.

It was a fairly large building, located to the right of the Hokage's Office and behind the hot springs.

I stopped my musings and went inside.

To the right is a counter and a middle-aged woman sitting at it, reading something.

As if sensing my gaze, she raised her head and our eyes met.

She was a bit surprised and spoke kindly, "Sorry, little one, but only Shinobi or adults are allowed in the library."

"I'm a student at the Academy, I started today." I walked over and answered.

"Oh! Then give me a second." As if she understood something, the woman opened one of the many drawers on the counter, and took out a stack of papers.

"Could you tell me your name?" Putting the papers on the counter, the woman asked.

"Kuro Shizumatta."

"Hm…" The librarian hummed and rummaged through the pile of papers.

"Ah! Here it is!" The woman took out a paper and said after checking it.

She grabbed a stamp and marked the paper "Sorry, I thought I would have more time to approve the entries. You must be very diligent, coming to the library right after leaving the academy."

I smiled slightly, "Just a little."

The woman put the paper aside and with a smile spoke to me, "You can go in now, however, you can only be in the green zone, which is for civilians and students."

"Okay, thank you very much."

I reached the area where the floor and seats are green and followed the directions to find the student section.

Once there, I started looking at the bookshelf's.

There are all kinds of books here on the subjects taught at the Academy.

From basic subjects, information about the chakra, explanations of the different specializations of a Shinobi, etc.

My initial focus is the Ninjutsu section, although I already know how to use the E-class jutsu required for graduation, they are not the only ones that students can learn.

Maybe, even some of the D-rank jutsu might be available.

Definition of Ninjutsu and Classifications.

Basic elements of nature ...

And many more things are what I saw in the Ninjutsu section.

After a moment, I got to the part with E-Rank Jutsu.

Body replacement technique, invisibility cloak technique, cloning technique ...

I grabbed the Body Replacement scroll, and when I did, a translucent window appeared in my vision.

[A skill has been detected. Do you want to learn it? Y/N.]

With a bit of surprise, I agreed.

Like a fresh breeze, information on the technique and how to use it popped into my mind.

[New skill [Kawarimi no Jutsu] learned!]

[Kawarimi no Jutsu - Lvl: 1

The instant before being hit, the user is replaced with a nearby object.

I didn't put the scroll down immediately, as I don't know if someone is watching.

I stood in front of the bookcase, browsing through the contents.

It also serves to verify that nothing has been damaged.

However, my worries were unnecessary, the scroll still has the content.

I put it back in its place and pretended to peruse the other techniques while secretly learning them.

Although they weren't very special, learning them won't hurt me.

After that I keep moving forward.

The Yellow area is a few meters ahead.

However, I did not stop. I'm pretending to be focused looking around.

In case someone forbids me to pass, I will use the excuse of being distracted.

And if I really managed to get in, I just need to grab or touch some D-rank scroll.

After all, the moment I cross into the yellow area, I'll be in the technique section.

I got closer and closer, but nobody stopped me.

I have been touching or moving some books, making it appear that I am inspecting them.

Books contain information, definitions, etc.

The scrolls have the techniques, however, from time to time there is a scroll with information.

Soon, I crossed to the yellow area and ignored the books, grabbing the first scroll I saw.

It may sound rushed, but from an outside view, it would be very natural, even more so if they saw my previous actions.

[A skill has been detected. Do you want to learn it? Y/N.]

I accepted quickly.

[New skill [Shunshin no Jutsu] learned!]

*Cough* *Cough* "Students can't be here."

Before I could review the new skill, a cough accompanied by an elderly voice came from behind me.

I turn around and see the Hokage, smiling.

I showed a confused expression and looked around, pretended to realize where I was and quickly spoke.

"Sorry, Hokage-sama, I didn't realize where I was going."

A screen appeared in front of me, but I closed it; there will be time to read later.

I only trust that I can fool the Hokage by the [Gamer's Mind] that keeps my thoughts, and therefore my expression, calm. Also in the slight favoritism that he is supposed to have towards me.

Hiruzen showed an understanding smile. "Okay, I get it. Learning can be very engaging." After saying that, he walked to the green area. "Come with me."

I left the scroll in place and caught up with it.

When I was next to him, the Hokage showed a curious expression and asked. "So how about the academy?"

Although puzzled, I replied, "It was good, it was quite interesting."

Hiruzen smiled, "Good to hear. I guess you came here after school, it's rare to see a kid your age with such enthusiasm." Looking around the different books and scrolls, Hiruzen continued to ask, "Jutsu are amazing too, aren't they? What do you think of them?"

I already had a little idea why he's here; after reflecting a bit, I replied. "I think they are amazing as they allow us to do things that would normally be impossible."

Hiruzen nodded and asked again, "Do you have any special reason to become a Shinobi?"

'I guess I'll tell you what you want to hear.' I thought before answering.

"My parents died while protecting the village, I want to follow in their footsteps and not let their sacrifice be in vain." I lowered my head to look at the ground and tried to sound as sad as possible and judging from Hiruzen's sympathetic gaze, it worked.

The Hokage patted my shoulder and spoke, "That is a great and noble reason. In fact, I met your parents and they would be proud to listen to you now."

I looked at him curiously, this time for real. "You did it, Hokage-sama?"

Besides the names, how they died, and some photos at home, I don't know anything else about them.

Hiruzen nodded and with a wistful look replied, "I did, they were both great Jounin, your mother, Aori Shizumatta, was very talented with the Water element, and like you, she was a very calm person. Shu Shizumatta, on the other hand, he was more energetic and specialized in Taijutsu. However, they both had the same level of loyalty to the village. "

It was interesting, but if he wanted to unleash any emotion in me, he was going to be disappointed.

"Thank you, Hokage-sama. I will do my best to follow in your footsteps." When I said that, we had already reached the exit. The middle-aged woman was not there, so it was only us.

We stopped in front of the door and with an encouraging smile, Hiruzen replied, "The academy will last a long time, apart from training, make sure you make friends. There is a limit to what we can do alone."

After I nodded my head, the Hokage smiled one last time and left the library.

That last comment from the old man made me wonder if he's been watching me.

Well, in case he is, I just have to be more careful.

For now, there is nothing else I can do about it

Remembering the notification I received while talking to the Hokage, I checked my skills and found the new.

[Actor (Passive) Lvl: 2

The user's lies are more credible.]

Level 2? I guess it leveled up thanks to me tricking the Hokage.

As for why I was able to fool him, I'll give full credit to the increased favoritism. That, or the [Gamer's Mind] gives me a huge advantage when it comes to lying.

Leaving the unknown for later, I opened the D-Rank Jutsu.

[Shunshin no Jutsu - Lvl: 1

Allows the user to move a short or long distance at a speed that is almost impossible to track.

Hand seals: 1

In fact, it is an incredible technique.

'I wonder if I can combine it with [Sprint] ...' While having these thoughts, I left the library.
