"Ayo! Marcus! You were first! You'll get the scholarship! I bet Rhodes is balding himself from anger! Hahaha!" A fatty shouted loudly, trying to get his friend's attention in crowd.

Suddenly, the whole place goes quiet, and people distance themselves from the duo.

In a hushed tone, Marcus reprimands: "Baka! Why did you shout so loud! Now we're in this awkward situation! Let's go to the washroom." Don't think too much. They went to the washroom to avoid all the gazes and unwanted attention, temporarily.

There was a scholarship scheme which was currently ongoing in Starbridge High, where only the students who placed first in the classes get the scholarship. Marcus, as the most brilliant student in the final year, even with his poor background, placed first in his class. He studied really hard to get this scholarship, and his hardwork did not betray him. He was gonna get the scholarship, enter an excellent University and live happily ever after... Or so he thought.

"Arrrgh! I'm gonna kill him! I clearly told him to loosen up for me to get first place! But now he courts death, and I can only give it to him. I'll make him pay!" Rhodes, who placed second in Marcus' class, could only shout his heart out in another space in that same washroom. Marcus and the fatty, Alex, sure heard it, but the didn't really pay any attention to his tantrum. They only made their presence unnoticed to avoid unnecessary troubles.

Rhodes didn't need the scholarship at all as he was from a very wealthy family, but to prove himself to his friends and social circle, he wanted to get it. He was sure gonna face a slight wave of humiliation, but hey, Marcus was a real hardworking intelligent boy. It was really difficult to take that position from him, but Rhodes didn't recognize that.

He tried bribing Marcus before the exam, but he refused and said he really needed that scholarship. The money was only gonna save him for at most a year, but the scholarship directly takes him throughout University! How could he accept such a bad deal?!

Hence, the current situation.

Marcus went home late, all smiles, to share the news with his family, Daydreaming about his now smoother future.

Boom! A bomb went off, waking Marcus from his daydream. He immediately noticed a peculiarity... The bomb exploded in the direction of his house!

'No! Noo! NO!...' Marcus kept shouting in his head as he accelerated in the direction of his home. It was late in the evening, around 7pm. The whole family - his mom, dad, brother and sister - were all at home! This bomb directly makes him family-less!

By the time he got there, the whole house was surrounded by police, who were trying to evacuate the area.

A bomb went off in Marcus' heart.

He immediately remembered what Rhodes said, and strangely, it resonated with him at this moment... 'I'll make him pay!'

With his intelligent mind, the 17 year old did not take much time to find the culprit. Rhodes' family was already being suspected of arms dealing and under investigation,but due to their extreme wealth, they always expertly bribed the authorities. Corruption helped them directly avoid punishment, and Marcus, the new orphan, had long figured this out. He decided that he would take revenge on his family, even if he dies doing so.

With extreme willpower, He walked briskly to Rhodes family mansion. Before he even covered half the distance, he saw Rhodes with two armed bodyguards from his family looking in the direction of his house with evil smiles on their faces.

Calmy assessing the situation, he quickly formulated a plan to... Kill the bastard!

Yes, it was cruel. But he decided he was gonna take revenge on his family, even if it was the last thing he would do.

He found a short stick nearby, but he needed something lethal... Perfect! He found an arrow Head shaped glass fragment. Putting the two together with a tight rope, he made a spear. But, there was a slight problem... He never trained with weapons, and he wasn't sure he could nail the bastard to death from a distance hence he needed to get closer.

Stealthily, he approached the trio from behind with his long spear... *Cough*! Why does that sound different?!

The three were already distracted, so he put away the stone he prepared for distraction. Although he had never done something like this before, his mind was very clear and he was doing it almost flawlessly. The only flaw in his plan is probably his mode of assassination. It will get him killed after he was done. The armed guards would kill him immediately after he was done, but he didn't care. As long as he could kill the bastard who orchestrated the destruction of his whole family with an unjustifiable reason, his heart would be at rest. He would have no regrets then.
