--Kushina POV--

Today was a day even I was nervous for. The day that my team finally go on their first C rank mission.

I hope it isn't a high-risk mission, I don't want them to die so early. Even then I will protect them will all I've got no matter the cost.

They are all different from each other but as a team, they all work together well. I think it's more about Yokuma bringing them together.

Sigh... That kid, all he's been through, it is truly to pitful. Over this time I've realised that all he wanted was not to be alone.

He has been opening up a lot throughout this time to me and the more I hear, the more it surprises me.

It's like he's been in a constant conflict within himself since that incident. One side of him wants to stop what happened to him to other people.

But the other side of him wants to take revenge for what happened to his family.

Kids will be kids, maybe he will realise it later on that revenge is a useless thing and he will find no peace. He is still a child at heart even if he's been through what most adults cannot.

Hisajami also is a person who has the Hyuga defying spirit, it's obvious what he wants to do.

Breakthrough the shackles of his clan and becoming free, he's so easily readable even if he never shows any emotion on his face.

He and Yokuma work together well even with minimal communication between them.

But when they are not working in a team they mostly don't even talk to each other on that kind of level.

This is understandable but they are all going to be brother's and sister's in arms soon. They will have a deeper level of connection than just comrades who fight with each other.

Hisajami and Yokuma will probably be each other's best men at their weddings.

And Kibira... Well, she's the loud one in the group who also brings them both together.

She reminds me of myself when I was younger. A hothead, I still am now but not as bad as before.

The obnoxious shouting and threats coming out of her immature mouth... This definitely was me.

Even with the straightforward fighting style, it reminds me even more of myself.

I may be thinking a bit ahead like I always do but I will make my team survive no matter the cost. If they die... I don't even want to think about it.

The responsibility that's been put on my shoulders cannot be described.

I wonder how Minato handles the pressure?...

Never mind, he is going to be Hokage so obviously, he's more fit for this than someone like me.

I was thinking this as I was swiftly travelling towards the Hokage's office. This is where I was going to get the mission from.

Then I will go to where my team will be meeting me and give them the details.

Walking inside the Hokage's office I saw a pile of sheets at his desk and a pipe in his mouth.

Isn't he getting a lot older now?.. That habit of his never stops.

"Welcome Kushina, it seems today is the day." The Hokage said after blowing out a puff of smoke.

"Yes, it is, Lord Hokage," I spoke respectfully while walking towards him. He was picking it up a scroll and made eye contact with me as I moved forward.

"I hope your students do well with this task I'm giving them, including you." He seriously said with expectation while he gave me the scroll which was resting on his hand.

"I will definitely meet your expectations." I politely replied as I started to unravel the scroll.

After a few moments of the scroll making a crinkling noise, I saw the contents inside.

[Mission Rank: C]

[Guard the middle outposts against any danger, even protecting the delivery man from any hostile enemies when he is posting something]

[Time Limit: 1 Month]

[25,000 ryo]

I was tense as soon as I saw this, even the Hokage noticed... But I didn't care... This was dangerous... I was ready for the worst but I didn't think I'd actually get it.

"Is there something wrong Kushina?" He spoke in a condemning tone.

"Yes, there is Lord Hokage. Don't you think this missions a bit..." I was about to say but got cut off.

"Harder for them... Yes... That was the whole point. This team needs to be pushed to its limits so this is exactly the best time to grow for them." He stated bluntly without pushing back.

I knew I couldn't persuade him to change the mission after he said that. It is right after all. But the thought of them being in danger... Would they be able to handle it?

"Kushina... Stop overthinking things. You've got to have trust in yourself and most importantly your students. If you cannot abide by these simple rules then unfortunately you're not fit to be a role model or a sensei." He carried on saying sternly as if he knew what I was thinking.

What he was saying was true, I needed to trust in my team. But for some reason, there was this feeling pulling away at me.

I couldn't describe what it was but it felt ominous. Maybe I'm just overthinking too much and it's actually nothing in reality.

"I know Hokage but I can't help but feel for their safety, especially after what I've seen what this war does to people," I replied with a reminiscent voice while he just blew a cloud of smoke out.

"Sigh... What this war does is affect everybody and it's all for the sake of this village, we're not fighting for no cause." He leaned back on his chair while saying this.

"I understand." I gave a quiet reply while turning around and walking towards the door with the scroll still within my eyesight.
