7 Volume I: Beginning Chapter 7: Naruto

Orphaned, not having parents or anyone else to provide for him, Naruto received monthly income from the village to afford daily necessities. Naruto grew up not knowing who his parents were, receiving only his mother's surname, as Hiruzen wanted to protect Naruto from his father's enemies. Minato's dying wish that Naruto is regarded as a hero was honoured by the very few who could put aside their pain and losses caused by the disaster, while the majority of Konoha, however not know the circumstances surrounding his birth, openly ostracised and resented Naruto for containing the blast that devastated the village and took many lives; some even viewed Naruto as the Nine-Tails itself. Soon, the Third Hokage forbade anyone from mentioning the Nine-Tails, hoping that the younger generation would not blindly hate Naruto as their parents did. That's all I know from the manga and Anime about his childhood. But I didn't think that it will be more than that, as I've already stopped a couple of murder attempts by the villagers on him, even before they start to arm themselves as I have been spying on everyone inside the village using my shadow animals. Since I haven't been to any war or I haven't gone out of the village for any other mission, I didn't get any shinobi shadows, but it is good for my image, as I don't want blood on my hand this early and act like I'm traumatised in front of uncle and aunt.

Well, I'm eight years old now and he's two years old. But even though he's only two years old, he has been kicked out of the orphanage and he's been living alone in his apartment from the start of the year. So as not to feel any guilt I cook for him every day and will leave it on the table. While eating the food, he would always thank god for giving him free food. Seeing him like that makes me happy so I'm still doing it, but I mainly make him healthy food about two servings at a time so to stop the excess hunger he goes around the village forest to find fish and fruits to eat and as my duty I always follow him around, even though it's not my duty to watch over him 24/7, I've planted a shadow bird on him to keep an eye on him.

Now I'm waiting for Itachi at the dang shop. Even though we got into different teams we have been keeping in contact with each other and thanks to that I've met Shisui too. As I was waiting for him I saw Naruto looking at the Dango in the shop while holding on to his stomach, when I looked around I saw that every one of the villagers present, had malice and fear in their eyes, not pity or happiness, thanks to the rumours started by Danzo so that he could play the grandfather role so that he could take him to the root, but Hiruzen has started to move on his own too, as the Anbu personal has increased watching over him even when I am present. 'Well, whatever. He. I need to eat now so dango it is.'

Getting up from my seat I went and bought some dango and walked towards him. Seeing me walking toward him he slowly started to shrink himself so that no one would notice him. As I reached him I kneeled to his eye level and said

"What's your name?"

"Naruto," He said to me while looking down.

So I said "My name is Bokuto. Our names rhyme with each other huh."

He just looked at me like I was an alien as I was most probably the first one not to call him a demon brat after Teuchi and Ayame.

"Here, this is for you. You can eat it." And I put forward the dango to him, but he didn't take it from my hand but looked at my face for a second and looked around hearing the villagers murmur about bad luck and all, so I said to him "You can have it. No one is going to take it away from you."

When I said that he nodded and took the dango from and started munching down. Seeing that I just smiled and said. "Want anything else?"

He shook his head indicating that he doesn't want anything more. So patted his head and said, "Alright, then I'm going."

As I was about to stand up he said "Thank you."

"You're welcome."

After that, he ran away from there to his home and I walked towards the Ichiraku ramen shop as the dango seller said that he won't give me dango anymore.

As I was walking there I saw Itachi, and he looked down for some reason so I went near him and said "Hey, why the droopy face?"

Hearing my voice he looked at me and his eyes started to change into Sharingan with two tomes, seeing this I thought 'He saw someone get killed. But who?'

"Itachi what happened?"

"Come to the training ground near the Uchiha clan, I'll tell you."

"Are you okay?"

"No, but I'll tell you and Shisui at the same time."

"Alright, so when should I come?"

"In the evening, Shisui will be free at that time."

"Sure."

After that we went our separate ways, he went towards the Hokage office and I went to Ichiraku Ramen.

Reaching there I said "Teuchi-san, one miso ramen with extra egg."

"Alright, coming right up."
