Genin Examination

[Training ground 6, 11:00AM]

I stood alone in training ground six where my examination was set to take place; I had recieved a letter in my mail box detailing my test. I needed to fight another genin in a one on one, if I was able to deafeat him I would be able to become a genin right then and there if I didn't I would have to wait utnil I was 12.

After waiting for half an hour more, three ninjas appeared one of them appeared to be around 20 years old he had a large imposing figure with a face covered with wound and scars and his head being covered with a cloth and his forehead protector, he was wearing a large trenchcoat with the standard jonin attire underneath.

At his side was a 13 year old girl with short black hair and white eyes with completely white pupils with her forehead protector seemingly covering a seal from what my mind's eye could tell and on the other side was a boy with short dark red hair and black eyes aside from his red hair the thing that stood the most about him was the symbol that was ingraived into the side of his vest which looked like half of a wing.

"I am Ibiki Morino" the jonin said as he approached me "And if you pass this test you will join my team."

"That is fine with me Ibiki-sama whom must I fight." I said with masked enthusiasm.

"You can choose either of these runts." Ibiki said, as I heard the word runts I couldnt help but think of Yami and the rest, a small smile forming on my face. Which quickly faded as I looked at what could be my opponents.

"Uhmm, I choose you." I said while pointing at the girl with dark hair and white pupils.

"Okay, introduce yourselves, and do the seal of confrontation to start the duel." Ibiki said, after that both him and the other genin walked away to view the fight.

"Hitoshi Kou." I said while doing the seal of confrontation "Natori Hyuga" the girl said in unison while also doing the seal.

After that we both dashed at each other her speed seemed fast even for a genin, but still what is the difference in speed between a snail and a turtle. She started using gentle fist by producing small bursts of chakra from her palms but each time I would close the distance a bit and redirect the attack.

As Natori's attacks kept on coming at me each time at a greater speed, I continued matching her strikes and redirecting them, noticing the frustration starting to appear on her face.

I redirected an attack once again but this time she used my own force to help her, begun a spin and yelled "Eight trigrams revolving heaven!" I quickly backdashed as a huge spinning dome formed around her dispersing everything near her.

"Huh, that was close" I said while laughing, Natori gnashed her teeth and whispered "I am gonna end this in one move, eight trigrams thirty-two palms."

Natori assumed her stance and a green ying yang circle with different kanji appeared under us, she dashed at me again with a much faster than any attack she used before.

I decided to meet her attack head on and she threw her first attack I ducked underneath it went around her grabbed her from her behind, and suplexed her against the ground a small crater forming around us. Unconsciousness claimed her body and she slumped onto the ground.

"Hitoshi wins." Ibiki exclaimed while raising his hand.

"I guess you are part of our team now, good job and welcome to the genin torture team." He continued as both him and the red haired genin walked towards us.

Ibiki then turned towards the genin and said "Yuuto go wake her up."

"Yes sir." the boy now identified as Yuuto said, he started doing seals and after a minute Natori woke up blushing furiously as she stammered out, "Y-Yuuto, h-how could you show me that?"

"It was the fastest way to get you up," he replied with a matter of fact face.

I couldn't help but grin at the sight of my new teammates. This was definitely going to be an interesting year until I made it into the Anbu if it all went according to plan.

With a stern tone and an intimidating aura, Ibiki commanded Natori and Yuuto to leave the training ground. "You two can go home for today," he barked, his voice echoing across the empty field. Both genin nodded in unison, as if they had rehearsed this moment countless times before.

As soon as they were out of sight, Ibiki turned to me, his gaze piercing through my body. "Hitoshi, you will be coming with me to visit the Hokage," he stated firmly. "He needs to know the results of your test and you'll also need to receive your official ninja papers."

My heart raced with excitement as I followed Ibiki towards the towering Hokage building. We walked briskly, not wanting to keep Lord Third waiting any longer than necessary. It was unusual for him to be waiting for us, considering the mountain of paperwork that seemed to constantly pile up on his desk.

As we entered his office, Hiruzen's eyes lit up with curiosity. "How did the test go, Ibiki?" he inquired eagerly.

"He passed with flying colors, Hokage-sama," Ibiki replied with a monotone voice. "He defeated Natori Hyuga in an timely and rapid manner."

A proud smile crossed Hiruzen's face as he leaned back in his chair. "That's excellent news," he praised. "Congratulations, Hitoshi. You are now officially a genin of Konohagakure."

I could hardly contain my excitement as I thanked Hiruzen profusely. It felt like just yesterday when I first came to him, eager to join the ninja academy and make my dreams come true.

"Let's not waste any more time with idle chatter," Hiruzen chuckled, interrupting my thoughts. "There is much work to be done before these old bones give out." With a grin, he handed me a Konoha headband adorned with the village's emblem. "Wear this with pride, Hitoshi. You have earned it."

A big smile formed on my face, since I had already achieved my second goal on my list in less than a year of coming to Konoha.

As Ibiki and I made our way back to the training ground, we talked about tomorrow's team meeting and where our designated training ground would be.

I was eager to embark on my mission and finally leave Konoha. Being forced to constantly put on a facade and act for the past year had taken its toll, especially with those I actually cared about in the village. I couldn't wait to blow off some steam outside its walls.
