16 First Mission

[Training ground 6, 9:00AM]

Narration Pov

In a mostly barren landscape four figures stood there discussing their mission, the biggest figure was the jonin teacher Ibiki Morino, the other three were Natori Hyuga, Yuuto Kurama and the newest genin of the team.

With black long hair tied in a pony tail, deep yellow eyes that seemed to change from slits to pupils constantly and black markings on his face, he was wearing a black jacket with a green dragon running through it, a black shirt underneath, black pants, green sandals and the signature Konoha headband on his forehead, he was Hitoshi Kou.

MC POV

"Listen up, our mission this time is just a C-class level information gathering mission. We have been tasked to find out if our client's wife is cheating on him, simple as that." Ibiki said in a stern voice.

Natori raised her hand and asked "Where are we going sir?"

"Not far." Ibiki replied "It is a small town around and hour away from here by genin speed." 

"Have you all packed your supplied like I told you yesterday just in case we got a long term mission." Ibiki continued.

"Yes sir." We all replied in unison while grabbing the straps of our backpacks. "Then let's go. Ibiki continued, walking away from us out of the training ground, all of us following his lead like little ducklings.

We naturally picked up speed as we left the village jumping from tree to tree, while the journey was spent most of the time in silence except for the small conversations between Natori and Yuuto who I had learnt was from the Kurama clan.

It was honestly relaxing just feeling the wind in my hair and not the constant stare of anbu on me 24/7, but all good things must come to an end and so did this little piece of peace in my life as my team finally saw the town in front of us probably less than 300 meters away.

We started slowing down and waited at the gates, where two guards who just seemed to be normal people with weapons and armour stood.

"Identify yourselves." one of the guards said, Ibiki flashed his Konoha headband and said "We are hear for a mission so please let us passage and be discreet."

"Papers?" the other guard questioned a bit of fear evident in his voice probably because he had never greeted ninjas himself.

"Sure here they are" Ibiki replied in a monotone manner probably only adding to the poor guy's fear while handing them the official parameters that would let us stay in the village.

Before entering Ibiki stopped us and said "Take off your headbands and put them in your backpack, we don't want normal civilians wondering why there are ninja in their town." 

After we did exactly as Ibiki said we went in after him and quickly dispersed into different directions since an adult with three kids who weren't his own was probably suspicious enough. I strut into an alley and grabbed the mission parameters again from my bag.

Parameters: Our client, Aoyama Nobuo, believes his wife, Oki Emiko, to be cheating on him, find if this information is true without questioning the woman herself by interrogations or other means.

Description for both: Aoyama is 32-years old with brown hair and brown eyes, his wife is a 30 year old blonde with blue eyes. Your team will meet with the client at the Hatago inn every three days to report if you have found anything substantial.

Ok seems simple enough I though to myself, after reading the mission again I quickly put it in my bag and started moving around the town trying to find where this inn was after half an hour of randomly walking I decided to ask an old woman nearby.

She told me the directions on how to get there and after 15 minutes of more walking I finally saw the inn with another of my teammates already there and checking in for a room, it was Natori, I decided to act as if I didn't know her and she did the same.

I purchased a room for myslef for three days right next to her's and started walking with her up the stairs, when we finally reached our floor where it seemed to be completely empty, we whispered amongst ourselves "So, how did you find this place?" I asked.

Natori just pointed at her eyes, "Figures." I said "Still have you seen sensei or Yuuto."

"I haven't seen Yuuto but from what I can see sensei seems to be in a room below us." Natori answered.

"That is fine then; Yuuto should be able to make his way here right?" I asked.

"He should if he asks for directions every five minutes, he has a very bad sense of direction." Natori said a laugh almost escaping her mouth.

"Well, sensei should probably know we are here so we should just get in our rooms and wait until he calls us for our next move." I said

"Ok, then bye Hitoshi." Natori said as she entered her own room.

I entered my own room, a simple layout with a bed in the middle a window on the left wall with a desk beside it, a simple bathroom with a toilet and shower all in all a pretty good place to stay in for a mission compared to what other ninja may sleep in. 

I headed to the bed and fell onto it, its warm and fluffy matress lulling me into sleep, but I didn't let it overcome me and I won the battle of attrition by staying awake. I grabbed my bag which I had left by my bedside and opened it up since there wasn't much else to do for now and I wasn't going to do extra work for the village that killed my parents. Instead I grabbed something that hadn't seen the light of day in quite some time.

A small bottle of ink, a used booklet and my brush; I grabbed everything and walked to the desk leaving it all there, I opened the booklet and as I turned the pages more and more seals I had previously painted as I reached the last mark of the booklet my latest version of the Cyclic Seal which I had last worked on 2 years ago. 

I turned the page, infused some chakra into my brush and thought, welp time to get the rust off.
