Chapter 31: Learning the jutsus

Ken created his five shadow clones and gave them the Earth Style:Mud River jutsu to master first before moving to the next jutsu.

He had enough chakra to create more clones but his grandpa has strictly forbidden him to do so.

Speaking of his grandpa, he had not seen him much after the first day of his academy. He seems to be pretty busy.

If only Ken knew what his grandpa was busy with, he would realize how drastically his existence had changed the timeline.

Even if he knew that the timeline had changed, he would not care. He enjoyed his life as a shinobi. Learning new jutsus, developing new jutsu ideas and thinking about different ways to use a jutsu in a battle seem to always calm his mind and he always enjoys doing such things.

While the shadow clones practiced and learned the jutsus, Ken himself decided to start learning the Rasengan.

Mukai was not present as he was safe inside the Sarutobi clan compound. So he would not have to answer how he knew the training method for the Rasengan. Well, he also scolded his grandpa for spying on him from his crystal ball and told him that it was a breach of his privacy.

Hiruzen reluctantly agreed that he would not be spying on Ken when he was in the Sarutobi Compounds.

Ken tried to remember the training method for Rasengan from his memories.

Naruto went through an intensive training regimen with Jiraiya, who taught him the technique using three steps.

First, Ken needs to spin his chakra fast enough to pop a water balloon. Then, he needs to build the power of the rotating chakra enough to pop a rubber ball. Finally, he has to combine the power and speed with enough control that he can create the spinning air motion inside a balloon without popping it.

"I hope that I would not need to use a shadow clone to create a Rasengan like Naruto did." Ken mumbled as he went to the market to buy water balloons and rubber balloons.

He then started practicing the first step which was to spin his chakra fast enough to pop a water balloon.

While doing so, Ken imagined himself throwing a rasenshurinken from each of his hands. He was feeling very excited about it. But he knew it would take him years before he could use Rasenshurinken.

'Unlike Naruto, I would surely create rasenshurinkens for all the basic chakra natures. I wonder what an earth or an ice rasenshurinken would look like.' Ken thought as continued his training.

He practiced for a few hours without much progress. He decided to take a break and eat something.

He cancelled his shadow clones too since he was running out of chakra.

While eating, he thought about what other jutsus could he develop for his lava release and how he could use the different forms of lava release in a battle.

The rubber form is strong against lightning style which makes sense since it's rubber. He could reinforce Earth walls with rubber style making it harder to break.

He took the inspiration from Dodai.

Dodai used the rubber to stop the third raikage 'hell stab' jutsu who was in his lightning chakra mode for a few seconds in the fourth great ninja war.

'The Rubber form can also be used to defend against other natures too. It would combine pretty well with my earth-style jutsus and help increase my defense.' Ken thought

Ken wanted to use the liquid lava form to melt enemy defenses and if it landed on the enemy it was a sure shot victory for him. Even though Mei was not able to melt Sasuke's or Madara's Susanoo with her Lava release, Ken believed it was possible to melt even Susanoos if he could increase the temperature of Lava far beyond what he was capable of right now.

It was only a theory right now and Ken has yet to test whether it was possible or not.

Ken sometimes forgot that he had the ice release Kekkei Genkai along with the Lava release.

'Ice release was not shown much in the anime except when Haku used it. It has much more to explore. At least, water jutsus would not work for me, I could just freeze the water and use it to my advantage.' Ken thought amusedly

While the crystal mirror jutsu that Haku used was good, Sasuke who had just unlocked his sharingan was able to keep track of Haku's speed even by a little.

That meant others with a higher mastery of Sharingan or higher-level ninjas would also be able to track him easily.

'If I could make the demon mirror technique much more powerful, then it could be used just like flying Raijin. But it would not be as fast as that.' Ken tried to think about ideas to develop the demon mirror jutsu.

'Does ice release also have forms like lava release? What could it be its forms? Snow maybe. Haze can be another one.' Ken thought

Ken had already finished his food. Thus, he got back to training his Rasengan. He also used the shadow clones once again which he had cancelled to recover his chakra. His shadow clones went back to train the Earth Style: Great Mud River jutsu.

He wanted to learn these jutsus by the end of the year since he was thinking of early graduation.

Despite the frequent taijutsu spars with Itachi, the academy was too boring for his liking. Thus, he wanted to become a shinobi as soon as possible and do shinobi things.
