Chapter 14: Helping Asuma

"That's an interesting idea Ken but sadly it is not possible for you to do so. But you are wrong about your talent in taijutsu. Yes, it's not as good as your talent in ninjutsu. But unlike ninjutsu, improving one's taijutsu is more easy for the ones without talent. Also, Your talent in taijutsu is not bad, it is just average." Mukai said hoping to cheer up Ken.

Ken just looked at him blankly and continued his physical exercises.

'Sasuke and Kakashi mastered Chidori and purple lightning to such a degree that they did not need hand signs to use it and incorporated it into their close-range battles. I could do the same but I don't have lightning release chakra. I don't think that I can invent something like that right away. It would take me at least a decade to do something similar with another chakra nature. Wish, I just had the lightning chakra nature, it would have made everything easy.' Ken thought

On the other hand, Mukai was also thinking about something similar 'Though change in chakra nature for augmentation is not possible. But it might be possible for a hyuga or for someone with a byakugan to do it since they can see their own tenketsu points to avoid flowing chakra where the tenketsu points can be damaged from. It would make the gentle fist technique more powerful.'

'I should try it. A teacher can really learn a lot of things from his students.' Mukai thought with a smile while looking at Ken.

They continued training before Mukai left for something Hiruzen called him for. But Ken continued his training.

"You have been training quite a lot, little Ken." A voice came from behind Ken.

Ken turned back with an excited smile on his face as he knew who the voice belonged to "Uncle Asuma!"

He hugged Uncle Asuma.

"Where have you been for the past week Uncle Asuma?" Ken asked curious since Asuma always comes to meet him every day.

He remembered the memories of what would happen to Asuma in the future. He would be dissatisfied with Hiruzen and his life as a shinobi and thus join the twelve guardians that would protect the Damiyo.

When the twelve guards were disbanded, He would eventually return to Konoha and serve as the jonin sensei for the ino-Shiko-Cho team.

He would later die at the hands of Hidan. Although, he was an elite jonin and one of the strongest shinobi in the hidden leaf at the time of canon, in the grand scheme of things he was still weak.

He knew the reason for Asuma to be so weak. He did not have any desire to get stronger and thus train more. Thus after he became a jonin his skills stagnated.

For the past weeks, he has been thinking of a way to motivate Asuma into training and help him become stronger without sounding suspicious. And finally, he had a plan in his mind.

"I was on a mission, little Ken. That's why I could not meet you during the past few days." Asuma replied

'Now is the right time to start the Mission: Help Uncle Asuma become stronger.' Ken thought

"Wow, Uncle Asuma. Are you hurt? Did you kill enemy shinobi?" Ken asked with his childlike innocence. His age always seems to help him to trick people.

"Your Uncle Asuma is strong. The enemy was not even able to scratch me before I disposed them off." Asuma said exaggerating his performance .

"That's so cool. Does that mean you are as strong as Grandpa?" Ken asked with fake excitement knowing pretty well that he was not even ten percent as strong as Hiruzen.

"Dad is the strongest shinobi in the leaf. It's impossible to be as strong as him. Besides, I lack the talent that he or you have." Asuma said with a sigh

"What's so difficult? You just have to master all five chakra nature's chakra releases like Grandpa." Ken said

Asuma laughed at that "It's not as easy as it sounds. In fact, apart from Dad, Lord Second and Orochimaru of the Sanin, there has been no ninja to master all five chakra natures. Also, I have talent only for my two primary affinities which are wind and fire."

"Then you just have to become stronger in these chakra natures than Grandpa," Ken said without hesitation. He continued

"I had read about the wind vacuum jutsus developed by the second kazekage. Why don't you learn to use them? I heard that they were pretty deadly and Konoha has those jutsus stored in its library. Maybe with that, You would be stronger than Grandpa."

'I know for a fact that Dad might also know those vacuum jutsus. But Ken is not wrong. I can definitely surpass him in wind chakra nature if I learn wind vacuum jutsus and reduce the number of hand signs I need to use it. I am sure Dad has to use all hand signs for the jutsus. Thus I can surpass him this way. Besides, they are signature jutsus developed and used by the second

Kazekage, they must be quite strong. And some of them are even A rank jutsus.'

'The seed has been planted. Now for the final blow.' Ken thought seeing Asuma's facial expressions.

"I would steal big sis Kurenai from you if you are not strong enough to protect her." Ken said funnily and comically.

"Huh, How did you know about that? Does Dad know about it?" Asuma panicked

Ken just laughed as he ran away.

"Come here, KEN! Tell me how did you get to know about me and Kurenai?!" Asuma shouted as he chased Ken.
