Naruto in Highschool DxD

Rewrite with slightly AU Naruto that will eventually become completely AU Naruto with some semblance to his original personality.

The sky was a certain shade of lime-yellow. Bizarrely-shaped dark green clouds moved slowly and there was no Sun to be seen. Somehow, light existed in the unusual dimension where hill-shaped earth with lines running through them was formed.

However, the ground was not where all the action was taking place. A few feet above the ground was team seven and one Kaguya Otsutsuki. Naruto and Sasuke were in their respective chakra avatars while Kakashi and Sakura were sharing the light blue Susano'o. Parallel to Naruto was a clone of his that he summoned for extra support. It also had a chakra avatar.

Kaguya growled in dissatisfaction as she was surrounded and began transforming. By the end of it, she changed into a large unholy-looking white rabbit with a Rinne Sharingan in the forehead attached to a white lumpy ball that had the faces of all the tailed beasts sticking out of it.

An extra that was touched by one of Kaguya's hands was directly absorbed. Witnessing the fate of the unfortunate clone, everyone backed up with extreme vigilance. After dodging for the next few minutes, Kakashi had the idea of integrating Kamui to his attacks and succeded. The result was that it could hold back Kaguya, but it quickly became a temporary solution as she kept regenerating, and Kakashi had a limited amount of chakra he can use.

This issue was thrown out the window when Kaguya's frustration reached her peak. She decided to activate one of her ultimate techniques to finish the fight early and in her place was a prodigious truth-seeker ball surrounded by a white substance that gathered and reformed into Kaguya herself.

She first focused on Kakashi, resulting in his Susano'o shattering. One of her rods was heading for him only to pass through his body as he charged up a Kamui powered Raikiri.

Diving straight to her, he managed to tear through a chunk of her right trapezius and rotated himself in mid-air to observe what was going to happen next.

A Naruto clone flew to her left side to hold her down but was stabbed by one of the rods showed up all of a sudden. This was the distraction required by the real Naruto to touch her and Sasuke followed his lead by replacing himself with the damaged clone. As one of Kaguya's portal opened, Kakashi destroyed it by using Kamui.

One thing they forget about was Black Zetsu. That was why when a hidden attack aimed at Naruto's heart from his left, nobody saw it except for panicked Sakura who was above all of them and Kakashi who tried to muster whatever chakra he could to activate Kamui one last time and ultimately failing.

Not all hope was lost when he watched Naruto's strongest clone break the sound barrier and rush through the portal, effectively stopping it. Sakura came down with a warcry and punched Kaguya's head while Naruto and Sasuke laid their hands on her shoulders and used the Six-Paths Planetary Devastation.

"NO! WHY?!" she screamed as the terrain began converged on her. The tailed beasts got free and joined the exhausted, joyous team seven.

Naruto landed next Black Zetsu and walked up to him. "You don't think I forgot about that sneak attack did you, you bastard?" Black Zetsu trembled as Naruto grabbed it. "Since you love your mother so much"-he pulled it up and started spinning. Once Naruto collected enough speed and momentum, he threw BZ towards the forming sphere-"then go be with her for the rest of her life!"

"No!" Its voice was non-existent as the rocks covered him completely.

"Man...Black Zetsu takes momma's boy to a whole new level doesn't he?" Naruto asked rhetorically.

Kakashi snorted as Sakura let out a little giggle. Sasuke smiled for a second before putting on his neutral face.

"Say...what do you think happened my clone? My chakra came back but the memories didn't. Weird."

"Maybe it had to with Kaguya's portal?" Kakashi commented.

Naruto shrugged at the response. "Who knows? I don't care about it though. Right now, I want to throw a damn party and put myself in a seven-year coma. Now"-he scratched his right cheek-"does anyone have any ideas on how we are supposed to go home?" Everyone paled.

Somewhere in time-space, the Naruto clone floated horizontally with the aged rod sticking out of his stomach. Smiling in relief, he relaxed.

"We win. Time to vanish." He closed his eyes and winced at the pain eating at him. He quickly lost consciousness.

"How peculiar. A version of me is floating in nothing. Did he gain access to time-space like me?"

[No. This one is a clone of another counterpart of yours.]

"Neat. I've only seen Kaguya use this ability and judging by his age and form, I'm guessing that he was fighting her. I wonder how she's doing."

[She lives within you. You can always ask.]

"True, true. So...should we have some fun?"

[You were going to do that with or without my consent so why are you asking?]

"You know me so well." The stranger looked at the Naruto clone with a mischievous grin. "See ya later." He snapped his finger and white light filled the place.

In a forest a few miles away from civilization, space tore apart and spat out a young blond boy. He eventually woke up and eyed everything with confusion. He blinked multiple times to make sure that he wasn't hallucinating. Rubbing his eyes, he tried again only to see the same thing. On his third attempt to double-check the content his brain understood from his eyes, he used Yang True Healing in case anything was damaged and yet, he still saw a forest. In his last attempt, he tried to release himself.

Nothing was successful and it brought on an astonishing conclusion. He was alive now; not as a clone but rather as a real human being.

"How...is this possible? Where am I? What happened?" He stood up and a piece of paper gently fell on the floor. With his sharp hearing, he heard it and focused his gaze on the grass and the white paper with what he considered the best writing he has ever seen. He picked it up and read it.

{Hey Naruto,

I checked your memories and I saw what happened. Good job. You are an amazing clone and you will do wonderful as a real person. Yes, I am responsible for making you alive but don't worry, I won't do anything. You'll never hear from me again after this. Anyways, this isn't about me; it is about you. Right now, you are in another dimension. A whole new reality. Chakra probably exists but they can never use it as you. The Chakra system you have is exclusively for you and your descendants. I may or may not have made some modifications to your body so you will have to discover those surprises later. All in all, have fun. Live your life. Naruto Uzumaki, Main, has ended the war and has settled down. You should too. Yeah...time moves differently. Heck, he even has some kids. Thank the Creator that his eldest child is much more different than his original counterpart. That's a blessing. Seriously though, enjoy. However, do me a small favor and change your last name. Uzumaki is a dead clan and your hair isn't red. You can take Namikaze but I find it lame. Don't worry though. It is going to be easy for you to do that. As a five-year-old, getting adopted is not going to be difficult and you get a chance of the childhood you never had. Take my advice Naruto.

P.S. Explore all your abilities. Train hard. At age 10, I'll give you a weapon that you might dislike or like. It depends on how much you change from now.

P.S.S. You have the chakra and abilities of all tailed beasts, but you do not have them inside you. Plus, they automatically generate themselves all the time so no need to worry about running out. Also, be aware of Nature. It's...not safe here so Sage Mode is a big no-no until you solved the problem for yourself. Knowing you and your hero complex, you'll tackle the entire damn problem in the process.}

"That's...wow. It's so wow!" He couldn't properly grammar at the moment. "This is a sick joke. It has to be." Naruto spotted his fingers. "No. No! I am not going through this again! This is bull!" Another note dropped. "What now?"

{I wanted to make you eight-years-old for nostalgia but I stopped myself. Just an FYI. What I wanted to tell you is that this world is super dangerous. Only a few people can reach Kaguya levels of danger so be careful. Keep your head down as long as you can and build your strength. I remade Tsunade's necklace and put a seal on it. Drop your blood on it to gain access to Jutsus, fighting techniques, and sealing Jutsus. You're welcome. :)

P.S. Burn these notes once you are done reading them. Nobody else needs to know that I exist and what you are. Once you go to the authorities, just say that you have no recollection of anything aside from your first name. You should also say that the necklace feels important to you and that you can't hand it over. Be dramatic and stuff. You're a kid so you can get away with it.}

"...the heck?" He sighed. "Another troublesome situation. Great, I'm turning into a Nara now. Typical Naruto luck I suppose."

Utilizing the Six-Paths Sage Mode, he took to the skies and searched for civilization. Once he discovered them, he flew to it and stayed low. At the edge of the city, he turned off his mode and entered it. Naruto's inadequate acting skills worked on the civilians nearby and they escorted him to the police where they questioned him for information.

"So you have no memory of anything aside from your name and you woke up at a part of the city." Naruto nodded. "I see...well what do you want to do now? Would you like to get adopted or would you wait for us to find out who you are and your family?"

"What's adoption?" The police officer's gaze softened.

"It's when you get a family who takes care of you. I know a family who's been looking to adopt someone for a while and they are good people. Would you like me to introduce them to you?"

"Okay."

He patted my head gently. "Wait a few minutes. Let me make a call."

When the officer left the room, Naruto stayed quiet and reflected on the past few minutes. These people were pretty nice and much more welcoming than the Leaf Village. The only reason why he was acknowledged and respected by them was due to him saving them and nothing more. They wanted a savior and he fulfilled that role. Here, it was quite unconditional. He was seen as just another person. It was...nice.

"Good news. They will be here in ten minutes. In that time"-he brought a juice pack and cooked instant ramen-"eat something. We didn't have much here and this is all I could find. Sorry about that kiddo."

Naruto shook his head. "This is fine. I was hungry. Thanks."

He smiled. "No problem." Officer Takahara sat on the other side of the chair and opened his file to work on something.

After Naruto finished eating, he peeked at what the adult was reading and saw that it was a murder case. The urge to help overwhelmed his mind and he approached the papers. Touching one of the images, he went into a daze and watched a vision of what happened. As he saw everything go down, he clenched his fist in frustration and helplessness as the murderer got away with what he did.

Luckily for him, he paid attention to the killer's actions and found a weakness. The person took off his mask for a second but it gave Naruto all the information he wanted. Naruto remembered that he saw this person open a door in one of the apartments he passed by and the fact that he threw away a transparent trash bag with a knife in the dumpster. He might not have the best memory, but it was still good enough for this case.

Getting out of the vision, he learned that barely a second passed.

"What's up kid? You bored?"

"No..." Naruto searched through the images to help him support his claim and make everything seem convincing. Surprisingly, the officer quietly watched Naruto do something without putting a stop to his actions. Ultimately, he did find what he was looking for and had an innocent expression on his face.

"Hey, mister."

"Yes?"

"I saw this guy before." He held out an image where a small crowd formed and he pointed at a specific person. "He lived in an apartment complex not too far away and I saw him throw away some trash as I passed him. The reason why I remembered him was because his trash bag had a knife with blood on it along with some thick books. I don't understand why he would throw away a nice knife though. Maybe it isn't sharp anymore?"

Takahara narrowed his eyes at the images and came to an educated guess. "Naruto. Can I call you Naruto?" He nodded. "You are always welcome to visit this police station. Mention my name and I'll come to see you. How about we go to a real ramen place the next time you come here? I know you like it judging by the large smile on your face after you finished your meal."

"All right!" he excitedly replied.

"Great. Why don't you stay here for a few seconds? I have to go talk with some people and check some stuff out. Don't worry though. My friends know the room number so they will come here directly. Whatever you do, do not mention or ask about their children. They are an unfortunate couple that can't have any. Got it?"

"Got it. I'll be careful."

"Thank you. See ya later kiddo." He waved.

"Bye." I waved back.

A minute later, the door opened and two individuals with neutral expressions entered the room. They quietly sat on their seats and stared at Naruto. He did the same thing back to them and the lady in the room broke the silence.

"Hi..."

"Hello." Naruto cheerfully replied. With his positivity and radiant smile, the awkward tension disappeared and the adults fully relaxed.

"What's your name?" The guy who reminded him of a more quiet Iruka-sensei started the conversation.

"Naruto."

"Naruto...what?"

"Just Naruto. That's all I remember among a few vocabularies."

The lady seemed sad. "Oh. I'm sorry."

"It's fine. I'm only five and I highly doubt any adults remember the first five years of their life anyway."

They chuckled. "True."

"So when's your birthday?" she asked.

"Depends. What is the date?"

"October 10th."

"Cool. That's my birthday." Her eyes widened.

"Today is your birthday?"

"I guess so. I kind of assumed that I was five since everyone I met said I was. Wait...does that make me six or five then?"

Both of the adults turned to each other with confusion. "We don't know."

"Oh well. Let's stick with turning five today." He shrugged. "This is weird ya know? I never knew that you had to have an interview with adults to be adopted. Is that adoption works? I only learned that word like ten minutes ago."

She giggled at the situation. "No, it's not normal. I only wanted to meet you and see how you are."

"And how am I doing so far?"

"Honestly, it would be a blessing to have you as our son if you would let us. I've come to very much like your bright personality and your intelligence. Not to mention how adorable you are."

"Awww shucks. You gonna make blush." He touched the back of his head.

"Even your personality is fun to be around. I would love to have you in our lives. What do you think dear?"

"Me too."

"Then let me be the first one to say thank you for being my new parents." Naruto beamed.

By the time they settled the adoption papers, it had already gotten dark. Arriving at the door of his new home, Naruto marveled in the design of the advanced looking building.

Taking his first step in the silent house, Naruto inhaled in the smell of oranges and felt a slightly chilly sensation. Observing the interior, the words elegant, comforting, and welcoming completely described it. The floor was a darker shade of brown while the walls were white like snow. Wood could be seen at some spots of the house and paintings filled the halls. Most of them depicted nature and its beauty.

Turning around to his new parents, he could see the anxiety on their faces. Almost as if they were waiting for something. Figuring out what they were thinking, Naruto gave them a big hug that sparked the bond between parents and children from that day forth.
