Exposed

In the heart of the night, Konoha Village no longer retained its once serene and peaceful ambiance. Jōnin and Chūnin alike were abruptly awakened from their slumber. Anbu and root members swiftly moved through the shadows, creating an atmosphere of urgency and tension.

The news of an unprecedented event spread like wildfire, and the village buzzed with apprehension. Konoha Shinobi, roused from their beds, sensed an unspoken gravity in the air. It was a scene unseen since the Fourth Hokage took office, reminiscent of the turbulent night of the Nine Tails incident.

Upon reaching the Uchiha clan's residence, the Konoha Shinobi were met with an ominous wind that foretold a somber reality. The once orderly streets now lay in disarray, and the horrifying sight of Uchiha bodies strewn across the chaos struck fear into their hearts.

"What happened here?" echoed the bewildered exclamations of the Konoha Shinobi. The sudden and unannounced destruction of the Uchiha clan left them grasping for answers. How did such a tragedy occur without a whisper of warning?

The air was thick with confusion and disbelief. The Konoha Shinobi searched for clues, and as they stumbled upon Danzo's lifeless form, recognition dawned. Despite Danzo's demise, the roots identified his location amidst the blood-soaked scene, perhaps by the distinctive clothing he wore.

More than twenty corpses and several Anbu remains surrounded Danzo's lifeless body. The magnitude of the Uchiha annihilation struck them all. Konoha Village became a hive of restlessness and uncertainty, drawing nearly half of its ninja population to the Uchiha compound.

Sealing off the entire Uchiha district, the village initiated the arduous aftermath process. Amidst the chaos, the imperative task of preserving the bodies of the Uchiha members took precedence. The annihilation of the Uchiha clan marked a profound tragedy, yet the Sharingan, a potent source of power for the village, remained a crucial asset to secure. The village faced a complex and unsettling reality, grappling with the aftermath of the night's unprecedented events.

Although Danzo had met his demise, the ominous Third Generation project persisted, carrying on the work that had been intended for Danzo.

Amongst the wreckage, someone discovered Uchiha Sasuke, who had survived in a state of unconsciousness. The crowd erupted in cheers, believing him to be the sole survivor, unaware that he was spared intentionally, marked as a non-kill target from the beginning.

Upon learning of Danzo's death, the Third Generation rushed to the scene, his expression shifting from solemn contemplation to anger. The sight of the fallen Anbu members, led by the captain who happened to be Konohamaru's parents, further fueled his fury.

Uzumaki Naruto remained oblivious to the fact that Konohamaru's parents had orchestrated a plan to prevent him from losing control, demonstrating their dedication to the Third Generation Project. Their deaths on that fateful night, while surviving the Nine Tails Rebellion, marked a significant loss for the Third Generation.

The Third Generation, overcome with anger and grief, donned his Hokage cloak. The rage emanating from him was palpable, like a hidden tempest ready to be unleashed. Konohamaru's parents were not only family but also valuable allies, sharing the burdens of leadership within Anbu.

Facing this profound loss, the Third Generation grappled with regret. If only the Uchiha incident hadn't escalated to such extremes, if the conflict hadn't erupted into a full-blown crisis, perhaps his son and daughter-in-law wouldn't have been present that night, ultimately meeting their demise.

As he contemplated how to break the news to the five-year-old Konohamaru, Third Generation was left at a loss, struggling with the weight of the difficult task that lay ahead.

"Master Third Generation," at this moment, a man with roots approached, kneeling before the Third Generation, and said, "Master Danzo died protecting the village. You must ensure justice for him."

The Third Generation, visibly angered, lost his usual composure and remarked without reservation, "That fool, I told him not to rush Itachi. He even planned to distance himself from Itachi later. This led to Itachi's resistance, didn't it?"

Perhaps he believed it was orchestrated by Itachi?

The root operative bowed his head and whispered, "It wasn't Itachi or that individual. It's another enemy. There were other Chakras at the scene, and we even detected Nine Tails' Chakra."

There was a moment when Uzumaki Naruto couldn't suppress his anger, and Kurama's Chakra leaked out.

It hasn't been a day yet, and there might be traces left by them.

The Third Generation was taken aback. Nine Tails' Chakra? What could this mean?

"It's impossible," after Third Generation processed the information, he instinctively rejected the idea. "He's only eight years old. Regardless of how talented you think he is, can he really harm the old fox, Danzo?"

In reality, Konoha Village had many prodigies. Namikaze Minato defeated Cloud Shinobi Village's ninja sent to kidnap Kushina while still in school. Graduating from Ninja School at five, Hatake Kakashi became a Jōnin at twelve. Then there was Uchiha Itachi, who participated in the 1.6 Ninja Wars before turning eight.

However, when Third Generation first witnessed three-year-old Uzumaki Naruto practicing in the back mountain, he didn't take it too seriously. Many others were more talented, such as Hae Feng, who started school at the age of three.

The idea that Danzo could be killed at the age of eight was absolutely inconceivable to Third Generation. He knew Danzo's methods and strategic intelligence better than anyone.

But the root operative insisted, "Lord Third Generation, don't forget that we and Anbu began monitoring the Uchiha clan years ago. We have eyes in every corner of the village. Moreover, we have already confirmed it."
