Chapter 59 Sako's Confident Confidence, Orochimaru Strikes

"Boom... clang..."

With the opening of the blocked iron gates, the entrance to the Forest of Death was revealed to the many candidates.

"Now, the second exam for the Chūnin selection officially begins..."

Following Anko's command, almost all the candidates rushed through the iron gate like dogs chasing after something.

However, Naruto's demeanor changed entirely.

"Well, here we go. Let's go..."

Naruto greeted lazily as he saw the door open and slowly walked inside.

"Wow... Naruto, aren't you nervous? The atmosphere here is scary..."

Sakura's pupils trembled slightly as she fearfully looked at the dark interior of the forest. She stepped forward and grabbed Naruto's arm, swallowing hard as she spoke in a trembling voice.

"It's just a forest of death; I'm familiar with it. Don't be afraid, I'll protect you..."

Naruto wrapped his arms around Sakura's shoulders, comforting her in a straightforward manner.

"Naruto, what should we do now? Should we try to snatch other people's scrolls, or wait for them to deliver them to us?"

Sako took out the Heaven Scroll from her body, walked over to Naruto, and asked.

Inadvertently, Sako turned slightly to the side, creating a little distance between them. To be honest, this was a subconscious action on her part.

"Naruto, why don't we just fly over there? The environment here is so dark..."

Sakura suddenly thought of Naruto's bamboo dragonfly, her eyes lighting up as she exclaimed in surprise.

"No! We haven't gotten the Earth Scroll yet, so it's pointless to fly there. Besides, our team is the strongest Genin team. I have surpassed Naruto. How can you be timid before a fight?"

Sako directly rejected Sakura's suggestion, looking at Naruto with an air of arrogance.

Having awakened her Mangekyō Sharingan and with the boost from Hashirama's cells, Sako believed her strength was on par with Naruto's. She felt particularly empowered after reading about the Mangekyō Sharingan's ability to restrain Tailed Beasts in the family records.

[It really is sunny, and the rain has stopped. Er Zhuzi feels fine again! With Sako's personality, she's so confident...]

Naruto smiled at Sako's arrogance and thought of this famous joke.

"Let's just walk all the way. When we meet an enemy, we'll take them down and get the Earth Scroll in the process."

Naruto shrugged indifferently. After all, Orochimaru, the courier, would deliver it right to their door. He was looking forward to encountering this ninja scientist.

Sako and Sakura naturally had no objections; they both nodded in agreement!

The three bold individuals confidently walked toward the tower without any cover.

"Those three brats are right in front of us. If we don't take them out, it would be a shame to miss this opportunity..."

From a tall tree where Naruto and the others were walking, three figures suddenly appeared. One of them spoke in a low voice with cold eyes.

These three were Rain Shinobi Genin, marked by four lines on their forehead protectors and wearing gas masks.

"Such inexperienced kids often die first. I hope they have the Earth Scroll we want..."

Another Rain Shinobi pulled out a kunai, displaying bloodthirsty eyes as he licked his lips.

"Really? Unfortunately, you're my prey."

Just as the three were about to make their move, a cold female voice echoed behind them.

"When?"

"Impossible..."

"What is this??"

The movements of the three froze simultaneously as they exclaimed in surprise and turned to look.

They saw a pair of scarlet Three Tomoe Sharingan staring back at them.

In an instant, they felt a wave of dizziness wash over them and then lost consciousness.

"Useless... Even simple hypnosis is irresistible!"

Sako snorted arrogantly, feeling more confident in her strength.

"It's not an Earth Scroll, just a waste of my time..."

After checking the scroll on the opponent's back, Sako casually kicked it into her ninja bag, having eliminated the three of them with ease.

Then, her Chakra surged, and she instantly appeared beside Naruto and Sakura, who were walking in front. The Sako who had been walking alongside them transformed into white smoke and vanished with a bang. That had been Sako's Shadow Clone.

This was something Naruto had casually taught her while instructing Sako on how to practice Chidori.

"You took care of them? What kind of scroll did the other team have?" Sakura asked expectantly, turning to Sako in surprise.

"Well, just like us, it's a Heaven Scroll. We need to keep searching for our target," Sako replied, pouting in displeasure.

Before she could say more, her scarlet Sharingan suddenly spun rapidly.

"Earth Style: Earth Flow Wall!"

In front of Sako, Naruto's pupils widened as he quickly completed hand signs, slammed his hands on the ground, and shouted loudly.

In front of Naruto, an earthen wall shaped like a dog's head shot up instantly.

After the earth wall appeared, a terrifying Wind Style technique, comparable to a Category 8 typhoon, blasted from the front.

The strong wind pressure cut down all the trees beside them. Even the Earth Flow Wall in front of them felt as though it would crumble!

Seeing this, Naruto quickly infused more Chakra into the wall to stabilize it, barely managing to hold on.

"What an incredible Wind Style ninjutsu!!" After the attack dissipated, Naruto lowered the Earth Flow Wall and stared in shock at the long trench carved by the Wind Style. Sakura exclaimed, her eyes wide.

"That person is that disgusting guy from before... I can't believe his strength is so formidable!" Sako added, equally surprised as she stared at the figure walking toward them.

This person had the qualifications to make her go all out.

"You're quite capable, Konoha's brat..."

The newcomer wore a white robe, a bamboo hat, and a purple belt around his waist. He gazed at Sako with a strange smile.

It was Orochimaru, disguised as a Sound Ninja!
