18 Beat them up!
It took a while for Sato to get back home and understand what this S class mission was about.
"So I am supposed to go and trouble the clan kids?"
"Beat them up and make them angry?"
Sato asked in disbelief, this was such a hidden cloud thing to do that he was speechless.
Their acting style inside their own village and inside an enemy village was completely different.
They might as well be bandits for every other hidden village.
"Yes, unlike us you can easily go and start fights with the kids."
"They will target us and make sure we can't approach their new generation after our last kidnapping failure."
"But you have no such restrictions, what are they going to do? Tell a kid to stay away from other kids?"
"You should use this loophole and beat up as many clan kids as you can."
"Make their new generation fear the hidden cloud."
Yugito said the most outrageous words like it was the most normal thing.
Sato couldn't even counter her, this was just how hidden cloud acted with everyone else, like the most notorious bandits to ever exist.
"Are you sure they won't kick my ass instead."
"Those are clan kids, they might band together you know!"
Sato frantically rubbed his hair into a bird's nest.
But Yugito had the confidence of a repeat offender.
"That would be even better, the moment they gang up on you I will crush them myself."
"That's obviously Konoha who wants to kill you!"
"It's Konoha's conspiracy."
Yugito shrugged and turned the whole story upside down, which made Sato's eyes wide.
"So that's it? We go in, beat everyone up, and they have to lay down and take beating like it's a gift?"
"Is Konoha that spineless??"
Sato was genuinely concerned about Konoha, but Yugito shook her head and corrected his misunderstanding.
"It's not Konoha, it's their Hokage and elders."
"Konoha ninja themselves are very deadly in the battlefield, never underestimate them."
"But they are helpless in their own village, you can do whatever you want as long as you don't disturb anyone with these last names."
"Sarutobi and Shimura."
"Everyone else is fair game, especially Uchiha, if you see one you can kick one."
"Konoha will happily take this opportunity to kill the Uchiha you attacked."
"For some reason they have been desperately provoking the Uchiha's lately."
Yugito and Sato had reached their home by now, she opened the door and they walked in.
She closed it securely and continued speaking.
"Uchiha and Konoha are on each other's throats."
"Everyone in that clan is unprotected."
"Just be careful when dealing with them, they are the only ones who have the guts to oppose the Hokage."
"They are a very strong clan."
"If you mess with the wrong guy they might kill you before I can save you."
She seriously warned Sato who wiped the sweat off his forehead.
This was getting more and more outrageous by the second.
"What exactly is the point of all this? Beyond sending a message that we are better?"
Sato couldn't help but ask, the cloud might act like bandits but they weren't really bandits.
If they are doing this, they definitely have another agenda, something beneficial to the cloud.
"I knew you would catch on."
Yugito smiled happily when Sato realised there was a deeper meaning behind this.
She expected nothing less from her brother.
"You beating up the clan kids is a cover."
"What you really need to do is make them talk."
"Konoha is planning something, and we don't know what it is."
"We are supposed to get the Hyuga head's body this time, but I don't think they will give it to us that easily."
Patting Sato's head, Yugito said warmly.
"This is why I told you to target clan kids in particular, the higher their rank in the clan the better."
"Their parents might have said something about Konoha's plan by chance, something they might have heard."
"This is your real task, find out what Konoha's plan is."
Sato narrowed his eyes, now his task was starting to make more sense.
In Konoha he will be seen as a chaos causing kid, an excellent cover for him while he make them talk.
It's just there was a tiny problem with this plan.
"But sister, there is a very big chance they don't know anything."
"Their parents might have not said anything at all."
Sato asked with a frown.
Yugito simply waved her hand at his concerns.
"That's fine, it's just an attempt, even if you fail we would have disgusted Konoha."
"It's a win either way."
Sato rolled his eyes, yeah, that's kind of true from cloud's perspective.
Konoha's ninja have killed so many of their partners, they basically consider this a revenge.
"I see, alright, I am in."
"How far can I go with this?"
Sato decided to take this task, he was now a hidden cloud Ninja, realistically, the characters he knew won't hesitate to cut his throat in the battlefield.
No use hesitating about something like this, he was in cloud and he will to stick with the cloud.
"You can do anything you want, break their hands, humiliate them, burn their house down, even kill them."
"Just let me know before you do anything like that, I'll be around to help you."
"We will say Konoha's wanted to start a war or something, and we should be good."
Yugito gave Sato a happy thumbs up, something which Sato retuned with a wry smile.
He will need sometime to get used to this style of acting.
Certainly, he didn't think hidden cloud were the sole villains in this narrative, he wasn't that naive.
It's not like this was something new, every Ninja village does this, Konoha ninja's do it too during wars.
Konoha wasn't a holy place.
They have dedicated departments for torturing people, they are the ones who invented anbu to do every kind of dirty deed, it's where the concept of root was born!
It's not all sunshine and rainbows in Konoha, everything was a matter of perspective.
'Who I should target then.'
'I wonder, will Itachi side with the village if I beat up Sasuke, his biggest wish is no wars right?'
'So what will he do, if saving his brother starts a war? Hehehe.'
Sato laughed internally, depending on who he chooses to target, this mission will turn out to be very different.
