Homura nodded, and just as he was about to leave, he paused and asked Hiruzen, "What about Sakumo's son's Kekkei Genkai? Are you really not going to inquire about it?"

"We can't compel him to reveal it, in accordance with our village's rules," said Hiruzen.

"We can still ask Sakumo about it; he will likely share the information," Homura suggested.

Hiruzen shook his head and replied, "He won't. If he intended to, he would have already reported it to me. It's evident that he doesn't want anyone to know about his son's Kekkei Genkai, so asking him would be futile."

Homura nodded and departed from the Hokage's office.

Hiruzen resumed his seat and tapped twice on his table, summoning an Anbu ninja.

"Hokage-Sama, what are your orders?" inquired the Anbu ninja.

"Take these bodies and deliver them to the intelligence department. See if they can uncover anything important and relevant. Head to the battle site as well and search for any evidence," instructed Hiruzen.

The Anbu ninja nodded and vanished from the Hokage's office. After a few seconds, more Anbu ninjas appeared, sealing all the bodies before departing and leaving the Hokage's office clean.

At Sakumo's house, Kiyomi was spending time with Kakashi when Michikatsu suddenly appeared before her, his body bearing dried blood spots.

Kiyomi noticed Michikatsu's condition and asked, "Are you alright, son? Why do you have so many blood marks on your body?"

"I'm fine, mother. It's just that I've been in a battle, so these blood marks are to be expected. Don't worry about it for now, mother. I'd like to freshen up first, and then we can talk," replied Michikatsu.

Kiyomi nodded, and Michikatsu proceeded to take a bath. After getting cleaned up, he had a conversation with Kiyomi about everything that had transpired. Naturally, he didn't delve into the battle's details, providing only a broad overview and skipping the specifics.

In the Senju clan compound, Tsunade inquired with one of the servants about Nawaki's whereabouts and learned that he was sitting beside the pond in the clan compound.

Tsunade nodded and headed to the pond, where she found Mito and Kushina standing with Nawaki. "Grandma, what are you doing here?" Nawaki asked.

Mito replied, "Ever since Nawaki arrived, he's been like this—sitting there with sadness on his face."

"Don't worry, I'll try to cheer him up," Tsunade assured them.

"Nawaki, look, I brought your favorite barbecue from the new shop that just opened in Konoha," Tsunade said, displaying a bag containing the barbecue.

Nawaki remained silent and didn't respond. Tsunade placed the bag aside and asked, "Alright, tell me what's bothering you."

Nawaki finally spoke, saying, "During the entire battle, I was utterly useless and had to rely on Michikatsu for protection. Michikatsu fought bravely, maintaining a calm demeanor even in the face of overwhelming odds. He analyzed the situation flawlessly, while I felt completely clueless. If it weren't for him, I would have died a meaningless death by stepping on 'Explosive Tags'—I was that helpless."

"Child, I understand that you've suffered and feel useless for not being able to help your friend, but remember that sulking is not an option. Instead, focus on improving yourself so you don't find yourself in such a situation again," advised Mito.

"Michikatsu had the strength to protect you, so work on developing your own strength. Even if he's currently more powerful, aim to surpass him. Your dream is to become a Hokage, and Hokage don't give up easily, and don't forget that you are grandson of First Hokage," she continued.

Nawaki nodded after hearing Mito's words and replied, "You're right, Grandma. I'll strive to become strong enough to protect Michikatsu, just as he did for me."

Mito smiled and nodded, saying, "From today onward, I'll train you so you can learn the 'Chakra Enhanced Strength,' alright? And be sure to bring your friend to meet me; I'd like to reward him for saving my grandson."

Nawaki agreed and happily shared barbecue with Kushina and Tsunade.

The next day in the Hokage's office, Inokii, the head of the intelligence department, reported, "Hokage-Sama, there was only one ninja from whom we were able to extract some information. The rest of them were dead, and either their brains were rendered totally useless or their brain cells were damaged due to poison. The ninja from whom we were able to extract information was the alive Anbu ninja brought in. However, as this ninja was part of the Anbu, we were unable to extract every piece of information. Still, we retrieved some bits and pieces from this ninja's brain."

Hiruzen inquired, "What are your findings?"

"From the bits and pieces of information and by piecing together some details, we have concluded that this team of Anbu ninja was already aware of the route taken by Nawaki's team. Moreover, it appears they received some sort of intelligence indicating that Nawaki was on the verge of awakening the Wood Release," Inokii explained.

"Anything else?" Hiruzen asked.

"Yes, there was one peculiar detail that stood out. I was able to see one scene from the battle in the memory of this Anbu ninja. The Anbu captain pierced Jiryoku's heart with his sword, and it wasn't a 'Shadow Clone' that got pierced," Inokii added.

Deep in thought, Hiruzen pondered, "Michikatsu wasn't injured in the slightest; he was perfectly fine. Could Michikatsu possess a regeneration ability similar to the First Hokage's?"
