Chapter-12: Senju-Hyuga Meeting!

Saigenzai was a very confusing topic.

The notion someone was able to put a genjutsu just from powder amazed everyone working on the mission. Most of them were putting all their efforts in gathering the information for the drug.

All the while Junichiro was planning in a room, what to do and what not to do.

Even he was very curious about this drug. He didn't have any memories of such things existing but he was sure that something along the should've definitely existed as this was Warring States Era.

This was the bloodiest era out of all eras. It is bound to hold a bigger punch.

He slowly started gathering information and formulating a plan but was still confused by the drug's existence.

He found clues to answer one question and 2 more arose from the mix. It was just not coming together on a bigger picture.

Also there were attacks on several clans as well.

Some ninja members of other clans were also here.

Otafuku Gai was a trading area and most profits of small or big clans were connected with it. Nearly all clans had representatives as well.

"Haah...I don't know what is going on here. Why is this even going on? Saigenzai's existence is still a secret to smaller clans but major clans knew what was up with the drug. Many ninjas were trying to get their hands on the powder." He said out loud, prompting 1 2,3 and 4 for their opinions.

"It seems a personal visit of sorts is necessary." 3 said.

"No, that would be endangering the Junichiro-sama." 2 said as he glared at 3.

(MC POV)

"It really seems necessary to connect with another clan. We need more information and extra help on this." I said as I sat down and started thinking about different clans.

The best possible ones to collaborate would be Senju, Uzumaki, Uchiha and Yamanaka clan.

They had the biggest profits stuck in the Otafuku Gai.

Uchiha were out of question already. Emotionally unstable warmongers who solve problems like barbarians? Nope.

Uzumaki clan was also out of question as well. Hotheaded people who solved all their problems by slapping a seal on it? No thank you. Not gonna help in this situation.

Senju and Yamanaka were great options. They both were mostly neutral if not friendly with Hyugas because of the business of healing creams and medicinal equipment.

Flowers from Yamanaka clan were often traded by Hyuga for medicine making and Senju were also a big user of healing creams because of frequent wars with Uchiha. Not all of them had crazy healing factor like Hashirama.

They were more or less friendly.

"It seems Yamanaka clan and Senju clan may be able to help us..." I said as I thought out loud.

"Senju clan may refuse. The younger son of Butsuma, Tobirama Senju, is leading them along. He is known to work more independently. Yamanaka clan didn't send many representatives as well. During this year, they aren't trading many flowers for some reason. Only basic contracts are being fulfilled." 1 informed as I thought more about it.

"Is that so...? Anyway...Ask Tobirama for a meeting. We may be able to arrive at a conclusion." I said as I immediately started to prepare for the meeting incase he agreed.

I cannot let him have the upper hand.

(3rd POV)

After a day worth of time, Tobirama finally answered back to agree for the meeting.

Tobirama was a smart child right from the beginning.

He knew that Junichiro would be helpful on this matter and was about to ask for a meeting as well.

The profits of Otafuku Gai were necessary for Senju clan's prosperity.

The Senju mainly dealt in farming and wine. This mission was something he took on to improve his standing in the clan so that he can support it in his own way. 15% of the dishes in the most popular halls of Otafuku Gai were made by Senju's crops.

It was to the point that A trip to Otafuku Gai is waste without famous Senju Sake or some other famous dish.

He was here with his father's aid and also started preparing for the meeting.

He didn't want to give the Hyuga any sort of upper hand this time. The previous peace meets display was already an unforgettable memory to him.

After a few days, the meeting between Hyuga and Senju started.

"It seems you are in good health, Senju Tobirama. I am glad we are able to meet once again." Junichiro said with a smile as he sat down on a chair.

"I am also glad to meet once again, Hyuga Junichiro. I didn't expect to meet this soon as well. Now shall we start this meeting?" Tobirama said as he also sat opposite to Junichiro, trying to take the lead of the conversation.

"I am afraid we cannot start yet. You see, I brought in some drug samples that I'd like to showcase on one of the Hyuga's prisoners before we decide to start." Junichiro said, not letting him have any upper hand.

"Please rest easy. Senju already know the effects of drugs." Tobirama said as he pushed in for lead once again.

"I am sure we all know it's effect on body but the effect on chakra is something that is also necessary to consider and no one other than a Hyuga can do that." Junichiro said as he smiled and activated his Byakugan and commanded the prisoner to snort the drug.

Prisoner was really agitated from the command but couldn't refuse. The days of torture were nearly over. He could see death slowly cooing him to come and embrace him. His mental status was already in shambles. He snorted all of it, without a question.

Tobirama was already regeting his decision of coming in this meeting. He didn't get the upper hand in the conversation and was suffering a disadvantage already but he kept the qualms on the side and started to observe the man carefully.

He had a detailed report on the drug but he still wasn't able to gather enough drugs samples to make a viable practical experience to understand the situation better.

"As we can see, the written effects are coming on him but there is something very important that only a Hyuga can tell you. His chakra nodes are contracting rapidly, not allowing him to fight back the drug which is hindering the chakra flow. Hyugas in general are immune to such effects because of our innate ability to control chakra with more command but other clans cannot oppose it and end up getting stuck in a very petty genjutsu which is very hard to dispel. In small quantities, however, no one can tell what is going on and they just feel very euphoric and energized." Junichiro said as he struck a few senbon in neck of the prisoner, killing him ruthlessly.

"It is interesting that it is able to have such an effect on chakra pathway." Tobirama added as he wrote some stuff in the notebook, bumping up the danger levels of the drug.

"Hyuga and maybe people with giant chakra reserves and pathway are partially immune to it's effects but other than that, it has an effect on everyone, regardless of their genjutsu prowess and ability to dispel it. The only known way to detoxify it as of now is to force it out of system by vomiting and preventing the nodes from closing by forcing them open with another person's chakra." Junichiro concluded as he sat back down.

"Now...The let's proceed with the meeting." He said as he allowed Tobirama to speak.

"The danger levels of drug is very high and I cannot trust Hyuga clan enough to not use it for malicious purposes. I would like to work alone on it." He said staunchly.

"I could say the same but here we are, in a meeting to effectively counter it together. There is no need to break down the foundation of trust we have established in the meeting." Junichiro said he relaxed a bit.

'Such intimidation tactics won't work.' He thought as he started writing a couple of things about Tobirama to make a counter argument against him in case he tried to oppose.

"Very well. I won't be attacking this foundation then tell me. Is it alright that Hyugas tell all their information they have gathered until now? We may be able to reach a better conclusion from this." Tobirama pushed more.

"It isn't a problem..." Junichiro said he handed over the report book in his hands to him, only to pull it back last moment.

"...If the meeting is successful, that is." He said as he kept the report book on the side and stared down Tobirama, whose expression was stiff.

Anyone could see the anger in his eyes.

"It isn't that I want to refuse this deal. It's just that it hurt my feelings that you are not willing to even trust Hyuga clan with this." He said.

"I cannot help but think now, Junichiro Hyuga...What is your motive? Because as I see it, it isn't very favorable attitude for approaching for help." Tobirama said as he folded his hands.

"It isn't, to be honest. But your attitude of refusing to work together is even more unfavorable." Junichiro said.

"Fine. Senju clan will work together with the Hyuga. However, please do not consider this an alliance of any sorts. We are just people who got together to defeat the bigger enemy, not allies." He said as he once again asked for the report which was now handed over to him.

"If we don't stab each other in the back, that is the exact definition of allies." Junichiro Hyuga said as he smiled.

After a while of reading and calling in their respective aids, Junichiro Hyuga and Tobirama Senju joined forces together for this one mission.
