11 Chapter-11: Saigenzai?!

Otafuku Gai was fairly distant from the Hyuga clan. Hyuga clan abhorred any form of gene spreading at all. Just like major clans out there.

As a strict rule, whoever committed the deed with a non-Hyuga was neutered.

It was true for branch members but not so much for main family members.

They were given enough wiggle room incase of special situations such as alliance establishment etc. However, the child would be considered as a part of Hyuga clan as a branch member.

My dead grandfather's half-brother was a case like this.

He died very soon because of his sensitive status. The moment alliance broke, he was killed in a few days along with the concubine.

Everyone tied up the loose ends.

No one is strong enough to handle consequences of a careless mistake in this world.

Anyway.

After a couple of hours of travelling, I finally reached the location. It was outskirts of Otafuku Gai where the main base of peddlers were located.

"The river of blood becomes pure just from a drop of venom." I said the secret code.

After a while, a few ninjas opened the secret door and immediately knelt, recognizing me.

"Now...What is the problem?" I asked as I sat down on a seat I found lying around.

"The ninjas of Otafuku Gai have discovered our existence and actively oppose us. They are preventing the trade flow from a lot of clans and Peddlers alike." 2 said.

"Why is this exactly happening?" I asked as I got a bit more comfortable on chair.

"It is unknown right now as no information flowing around. Just baseless rumors." one of the ninjas said.

"What is the status of peddlers? This room feels a bit wrong." I said as I pushed for more information.

"It...It seems like one of the Peddlers...Consummated with one of the whores..." one of the ninjas said hesitatingly.

"Is that so? Haah...It was unavoidable. Lust cannot be held off against for too long..." I said as I diffused some tension.

I immediately broke the chair handle, ripping it apart, making the room uncomfortable once again.

"For an animal, that is. As a ninja, he should have discipline beaten into him. Is there a reason this happened or..." I asked as I took deep breaths to calm myself down.

It wouldn't be this irritating if this was from an enemy. This was from an ally.

"He is captured. He neutered himself on discovery." 2 said as he threw him on the ground.

It was a boy around 14 or 15, crying from the chopped off junk which was in his hands. He wanted to cry his heart out but could only sob under so much pressure from his fellow ninjas.

"Why did you do it?" I asked calmly.

"I-I-" He said as he hyperventilated.

"Bring him a glass of water and treat his wounds. Also keep that thing away from me." I said as I brainstormed to find a solution.

Generally, this shouldn't have happened. Ninjas are not like this. Especially Hyugas.

"Better?" I asked as I smiled at him, trying to put him at ease.

"Y-Yes..." He said as he looked a bit distressed from the pain.

"Now...What exactly happened?" I asked.

"The Otafuku Gai has a-a drug in one of its main hall. T-They u-use it to lure you inside and the moment you go inside, e-everything blacks out." He said as he resisted the pain.

I activated my Byakugan and immediately

"This is...new....Was there any drug like that? Which clan made it? I can see it. It is hindering his chakra pathways." I said as I analyzed the situation while gathering more clues.

"It is thought to be working of some cheap brothel. We may have stumbled upon it and this caused the mess." 3 added.

"No...That isn't it. This drug...Do you have any sample of it?" I asked as I further scanned his body.

"Y-Yes. I do." He said as he undid his T-shirt and pulled out a small piece of wrapped leaf from one of the inner pockets.

"Open it. Don't hesitate." I said.

He opened it carefully as I looked at it.

It was a coarse white powder which had a sweet jasmine smell it to it, even from a couple of metres' distance. I distanced myself a little and called another ninja to come forward.

"Snort it or consume it. I will do everything in my ability to save you, incase something happens. Everyone. Activate your Byakugan and observe what is happening carefully." I said.

Initially he was a bit surprised but he couldn't really refuse an order from main family. He didn't want to experience the pain of opposing one.

He immediately snorted it and I activated my Byakugan as I carefully watched what was going on.

The moment he snorted the drug, his chakra nodes started to contract together tightly as his head nodes were nearly closed off. He was instantly looking very dizzy and his eyes were rapidly covered with an illusion that he couldn't break no matter how he tried to. HIs chakra wasn't able push out the illusion because of low volumes and momentum.

He fell on his knees and started laughing madly as he scratched his body, drawing out blood.

I instantly moved and inserted my own chakra in his chakra nodes as I dispelled the illusion and forced the drug out of his system by sharply hitting him on his solar plexus and several other acupoints, forcing vomit out of him.

I was able to tell the effects of this drug...It was truly dangerous.

Especially to a Hyuga.

It is a type of drug that produces genjutsu on the user.

Because the genjutsu is administered through a drug, it does not rely on a user to keep it in effect and it's able to have a stronger hold on those who it's used on, an unassuming Hyuga, who don't fear illusion may fail to undo the illusion and will definitely be caught in it's effects.

It can create "malfunctions" in a person's vision, hearing, and brains.

It may be used as a narcotic. First time users are easily identifiable by their lazy eyes and pale complexion and rapidly contracting chakra nodes, coming from a single snort. Effects take within 15-20 seconds.

It also promotes self harm.

If anything this feels like specifically made drug for the Hyuga clan.

I calmed myself once again and started thinking about the issue as I formulated my thoughts.

I once again looked into the random ninja's body and saw that the traces of drugs were nearly eliminated however he was still somewhat light headed.

"Most of you will be pulling back now from your regular positions. Only essential ninjas will remain there now. This drug which I will call 'Saigenzai' will now be under investigation. Inform other members infiltrating the area as well. We want information on this drug. It is our current priority to find a cure and recipe of making this drug may be useful in the countering it as well." I said as I looked towards all the ninjas.

"Medic ninjas will immediately start researching this. The use of such harmful drug is definitely a trap made for Hyuga clan. It is able to put Hyuga ninjas, regardless of their skill level, in a genjutsu and damage their chakra system. Anyone else won't be able to survive beyond a few weeks, at best."

"1 and 2, you will immediately start managing the information networks across our clan ninjas as well as other places. We want all the information we can gather on this. Keep causalities at minimum. I will need this matter to stay private and not get in enemy clan's hands." I said.

"What about us, Junichiro-sama?" 3 and 4 asked me.

"I have a special task for both of you. Take this scroll and deliver it back to clan, raising the mission time duration." I said as I went inside a room where the detailed reports were supposed to be kept.

It seems like it's time to start planning again.
