1 Devotion

(4 years after the nine-tails attack)

"Get out! Your no longer welcome here!"

A little blonde haired blue eyed boy with whisker marks on his face rubs his face where there is a hand mark the lady that watches over the orphanage slapped him and basically threw him out the door.

With tears rolling down his checks He said "b-but I b-been g-g-good *sniff* a-and I- I'm hungry"

The lady just glared at him and yelled

"Like I care you Demon! Leave!" She slammed the door closed.

The blonde kid was looking at the floor crying he wiped his tears and said to himself "I'm not a Demon... I'm Naruto Uzumaki" he turned and walked around the village to find something to eat while he was walking he saw people glaring at him like the lady did so he looked at his feet while he was walking.

He tried asking for some food once but they yelled at him like that lady did so he quickly learned that wasn't a good idea.

It was getting dark and he hadn't eaten all day he sat down in an alley behind some restaurant when the back door opened he panicked and hid the worker was throwing out the trash and didn't see Naruto.

When the man went back inside Naruto's stomach growled because he smelled food he followed the smell and was standing in front of the trash can. He opened the lid and right there on top was some Half eaten dango he grabbed it and started eating it he didn't care he was just hungry and it was good so he kept eating not even questioning how he was able to smell the dango from where he was.

After he was done he realized 'where will I sleep' he walked around until he got to a park that he's been to before and he sat down at a bench and swung his little legs back and forth thinking about everything that happened in one day, he sighed and then he started crying again 'I'm scared' and with that final thought he laid down then he fell asleep on the park bench.

(1 month later)

After a month of living on the streets of the hidden leaf village Naruto memorized almost every thing in the village and he knew where to get food and some times he would find clothes that the villagers or sometimes the stores would throw away.

He even meet a nice ramen chef Teuchi and it was becoming his most favorite place to go even if Ayame would always put him in her lap even though she was only a 8 year old kid herself and trying to feed him and pinch his cheeks and rub his whiskers... even if the last one felt nice he wished she would stop... (not really).They didn't know he was homeless and he plans to keep it that way because they already helped him so much with the free meals he already feels bad because he sees people pay but he can't he doesn't want to be a burden. Hopefully things keep going well Because he's starting to be happy again...

(2 months later)

Things where going so well, he should have picked somewhere else to sleep everyday he completely forgot about the villagers and that they hated him for some reason and today a group found where he was sleeping. Now he's running as fast as his little legs can carry him but he wasn't fast enough because a boy way bigger than him landed in front of him he had ninja gear on and a leaf headband.

The genin kicked Naruto in the stomach and Naruto flew back and landed on his back and coughed out some blood and he curled up into a ball as the villagers and a couple of Genin and a Chunin beat up Naruto until a Anbu with purple hair that looks like a pineapple and snake mask started kicking all their asses when the Anbu was finished they turned to take Naruto to the hospital then report to the Hokage but he was gone so the Anbu quickly vanished and went to tell the Hokage what she had seen.

(Far away from where he was beaten)

Right when he was free Naruto ran faster than ever with tears running down his bruised face 'why! Why! Why do they hate me so much!' He wasn't paying attention while he was running and he tripped over himself and he flew through the air and landed on the ground and rolled into a stream of water and he was just laying underwater while thinking 'I just want to be happy' he felt someone grab him and start pulling him out of the water.

(Her POV)

'The water feels nice' the little girl was sitting by the water with her feet in the stream 'why do they have to be mean I'll show them for calling me ugly' "Hmph!" Then I hear running I turn around and all I see is a boy with blonde hair go past me and into the water.

"Hahaha!" At first I laugh then I realized he wasn't coming back up "oh no!" I run into the water and grab his arms and pull with everything I have when I get to the edge I give one last pull and he's out of the water. I wait hoping he's okay "cough! Cough! Cough!" then I breath a sigh of relief because he's okay.

(Normal)

Naruto coughed up water mixed with a little blood he opened his eyes and saw a girl about his age standing there he said "pretty" and then he saw the girls face go red and he realized he said that out loud and his face is also red but you couldn't really tell at the moment.

The girl realized he was bleeding and his face was bruised she gasped and said "are you okay? Who did that?"

He shrugged and said " I don't know they just hit me" and Naruto started crying the girl quickly sat next to Naruto and gently pulled him into a hug and they just stayed like that and Naruto crying on her shoulder after a while

She says "my mom does this when I feel sad, do you feel better?" Naruto nods

He says "thank you"

She just smiles brightly and Naruto just smiles back they sit next to each other.

She asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?"

He grins and jumps with his fist In the air "I want to be a super cool ninja! Then I'll be Hokage!" She giggles and Naruto says "what's so funny!"

She says "you have to be super strong to be Hokage"

Naruto says "then I'll just be strong!"

She shakes her head and says "dad said just to be a ninja you have to work hard! So you have work harder than that to be Hokage" Naruto becomes sad at the mention of a dad but quickly shakes it off and says "then I'll work harder than anyone else! That's a promise!"

She yells "me too!"

Then Naruto becomes shy and quietly ask her something but she can't hear him so she says "what was that?"

He says "I said... will you be my friend?"

She smiles and slowly hugs him because he's hurt and says "yes!" Then they hear two adults yelling and she says "I'll see you around! Oh wait I'll tell my parents to help since your hurt" And she runs to her parents he panics at the mention of parents maybe they hate him to so he runs before she gets back hoping he'll see her again one day so he can apologize for running away. When he was walking to find somewhere to sleep for tonight he yells "ahh! I forgot to ask for her name!" Across the village a similar scene was playing out with the girl.
