47 Chapter 47: Returning to Konoha

The two guards guarding the gates into Konoha were enjoying the good weather, but soon they saw two shadows nearing.

"Kakashi-senpai you're back." One of the guards said happily, but soon he lost the color on his face as he saw the one beside Kakashi.

"Oden-Sama, WELCOME BACK!' Both guards shouted in respect as they bowed. The news of Oden's accomplishments had reached every ear in Konoha.

"Yo, nice to be back." Kakashi simply waved.

"Hn" Oden simply nodded as he continued walking in.

Oden kept walking with Kakashi but he felt something was different than usual.

"Is that him, the one that defeated the whole Kuma on his own?" A bystander asked the one beside him.

"I know he was the first choice for the position of the fifth Hokage... But can a human do that?" Someone whispered.

"I usually greet Oden-Sama when I see him... But now I can't even look him in the face..." An elderly woman whispered to her son as Oden walked by.

Everyone was staring at him and whispering...

Oden felt like a chimpanzee in a zoo, as he walked the streets of Konoha.

Everyone was familiar with his name, first as the son of the clan leader, then as the clan leader of the Zaraki clan, then people got familiar with his face as he was the acting Hokage. His fame reached even higher heights as he defeated the Silver and Gold brothers.

"Who's that and why are people looking at him like that?" A young lady asked her friend.

Her friend smacked her head and said "That's Oden-Sama, don't point at him and don't be disrespectful!" She said in anger.

"Ow ow, you didn't have to slap me so hard, and who is this Oda-chan you're talking about?" She said as she rubbed her head.

"SMACK SMACK" Another two slaps flew her way.

"O-D-E-N-Sama, how do you not know WHO he is? He became the head of the Zaraki clan last year at the age of 15! Then single handedly protected the borders by defeating Silver And Gold brothers! He also protected Konoha against Orochimaru, Then he became the acting Hokage... And just now, he went to Kuma to bring back two Konoha Shinobi hostages. He single-handedly defeated the whole of Kuma and Iwa! I Heard that Suna was also on their way but when they heard that Oden was there they turned on their tails!" The young lady said in excitement.

"That... Sounds so fake, if we had someone like that, he would be our Hokage wouldn't he? Also, how can he defeat Kumo and Iwa single-handedly?" She retorted, not believing what she heard

"Smack!"

"Idiot, did you live under a stone? How can you not know about Oden-Sama, also, there is a chance that he not only fought Kumo and iwa, but also the mist got involved and Oden-sama defeated all three nations on his own!!"/She said with vigor. Rumors were starting to get wild.

Oden heard lots of whispers and saw that his fame had skyrocketed.

Suddenly Oden heard a chuckle from beside him, looking at the only person besides him he found Kakashi eye-smiling as he read his book... But somehow Oden felt that Kakashi was laughing at him.

"Is the book funny?" Oden asked.

"Yes, the book is hilarious." Kakashi replied instantly.

"Hm... It would probably be even funnier if the book wasn't upside down." Oden said.

"Huh?" Kakashi said in surprise. He had been listening to the talk of the people as they walked the streets, and he noticed that the more they adored him, the more Odens eye twitched, so he started finding it funny.

"Erm... It's not what you think." Kakashi tried to explain but when he turned to Oden, he had already left Kakashi and walked another way.

Oden arrived in the Hokage building, but he didn't go to Tsunade's office, instead, he went to another room, sat down on a chair, and wrote his mission report as this technically was a mission.

When he was down he stood up with the paper in hand and walked toward Tsunade's office.

When he entered he found the Hokage, with her advisors, Hiruzen and The Nara Jonin commander.

All of them turned toward him and stared at him as if he was a beast.

"Here's the mission report." Oden walked forward and handed her the report, whilst ignoring their stares.

"Shouldn't you read it...?" Oden asked with a twitch of an eye.

"Everyone already knows what happened, although few believe it..." Tsunade's said with an exasperated voice.

"Well, I don't think there will be any wars between us and Kumo anytime soon, so the mission was successful," Oden said as they still stared at him weirdly.

"I don't think they'll ever attack Konoha as long as you're alive." Tsunade said.

"Well then.. I'll leave you to do whatever you were doing." Oden said as he was about to turn around.

"Wait!" Hiruzen said.

"What is it?" Oden asked with a bad premonition.

"How about you become the sixth Hokage?" Tsunade asked weirdly.

"You haven't even had the time to warm the chair, why would you ask that?" Oden asked annoyed.

"Well it's your fault, you won the hearts of the people, I feel pressured just by the fact that I'm the one that took over after you." Tsunade admitted with a sigh.

" You're doing fine." Oden said with a yaw as he finally left...

"You were right sensei, he refused. Why doesn't he want to be Homage? He is so good at it." Tsuande sighed again.

"No it was different this time..." Hiruzen said.

"How so?" the advisors asked.

Everyone turned towards Hiruzen.

"Whenever I asked him before, he adamantly said no, this time he didn't use that word..." Hiruzen noticed and spoke.

"What's the difference?" Tsunade said, thinking that her teacher was over-analyzing.

"No, Oden is very precise with his words... The fact that he didn't say no means that he isn't totally against the idea." Hiruzen explained.

"You might have a point in what you're saying third-Sama" Shikaku Nara, the Jonin Commander finally spoke.

" We should settle the former matter, should we class Sasuke as a missing-nin?" One of the advisors asked.

"Orochimaru is really sneaky, he waited until Oden left the village before sending his goons to convince Sasuke to leave Konoha, he didn't even dare to come himself." the other advisor commented.

Oden finally arrived at his home and felt at ease now that he was back.

"I'm home!" Oden said as he stepped inside. And before he could even react, a shadow flashed by and crashed into him, making him fall backward.

Looking at his chest he found Hinata hugging him as if he was dying.

"What's going on?" He asked in confusion. He had assumed that Hinata stayed in her own clan while he was gone as it could get lonely here.

She didn't answer but he found she was weeped.

"Hinata... What happened." He asked again.

"You went to Kumo by yourself and fought their Kage and army... I thought you would die!" She said as she sobbed.

She looked up and her cheeks were pink and her eyes had tears in them.

"It's... Fine now, you shouldn't listen to rumors, they are often exaggerated." Oden said.

"But I was worried!" She said with teary puppy eyes.

"I see, well I'm back now." Oden said as he hugged her.

Hi everyone...So tbh, my stock is up, so from now on, I can't give you two chapters a day.

I won't drop this, I hate authors who never finished their stories, or at least gave us final conclusions to the story, and I wont do the same.

but I cant release a chapter everyday as I have work and other responsibilities that take a lot of my time, for example praying and going to the mosque whenever I have time.

Yes, I'm muslim and taking care of my soul and spirit takes a big part of my day, add work and spending time with family and friend on top of that, you have little time over. If you have any questions about muslims or islam, please ask here and I'll try to answer if I can :)

Anyways, you can expect 2-3 chapters a week, of course if I build up a stock again Ill start releasing two chapters a day again, but that's if I have like 20 chapters in stock.

Also... i already know how this story will end, I dont think that I will write up to the fourth war as with my pacing, that would need 200 chapters, instead Ill go somewhere middle of that and create a second volume to this, with some rest time inbetween.

In between volume one and two Im thinking of writing something else.

I started on a fangic, Fist of Haki, and wrote 5 chapters so far, its a one piece fanfic... But the thing is... i think I wamt to write an original story.

With the experience I gained with the two fanfics I wrote so far I think I might be ready for the challange, hear me out, its about reincarnating in the ancients times when humans were nomads and lived in tribes.

The mc becomes a young warrior, then a tribe leader, then an elder, and as he becomes older, he notices that he doesn't seem to age! And we'll follow him through the ancient time until modern times. He is going to have some kind of cheat, I might give him supersoldier serum, or make him a werewolf or some other supernatural being, not to the point that he can destroy the earth or anything but strong enough that he can take on a 50-100 men on his own.

It might not sound very exciting but in my head I know I can write it very well.

It's going to be adventurous, gory, action, romance, drama and slice of life at times.
