4 Chapter 4: Marriage proposal?

"Oden-San, prior discussions about my daughter's betrothal to you, with the previous Head, were never completed. I wish to discuss this further with you when you have the time, please come and visit.

Hyuga Hiashi'

That was what the letter said and it was even stamped with the official Hyuga clan stamp.

'So this is why Migoto brought up the subject of marriage before handing me these papers and this letter, sigh, Migoto is truly a worrywart.' Oden chuckled in thought.

"Mina, please prepare good clothing for tomorrow, I'm visiting the Hyuga clan." Oden simply spoke as he walked outside to his garden.

"Yes sir." A voice came from nowhere as Mina the head maid suddenly appeared from nowhere.

Oden walked towards where he usually trained in his garden, which wasn't far from the house so he always had to be careful.

As he took a few steps forward, his sclera became black, which was in stark contrast to his golden-colored iris.

He felt his chakra become endless and deep, and his physical energies also soared.

It felt like no matter which ninjutsu he cast, no matter how chakra-consuming or big the ninjutsu was, he wouldn't tire or run out of chakra.

He suddenly sat down in the garden and raised his palms, from them came two cone-like spirals, creating almost spears that came out of his palms.

He had tried creating something similar to the Rasengan in the past, and this was his result.

He called it the spiralspear, Rasenyari.

It consumed even more chakra than the Rasengan and needed a lot of chakra control, so he usually sits down and creates them to train his control.

One of the Rasenyari started to combust into flames while the other started to make whizzing sounds.

'What a freak genius...' Migoto thought as he watched from the shadows. For him, Oden was like his own child, seeing him like this made him feel proud and happy that the clan would see good times for having a strong leader.

Oden kept the Rasenyari spiraling from his palms as he interchanged the nature of them, from fire to wind, and from wind to fire.

Then after he had done that for an hour, he simply stood up and picked up a staff and started doing martial arts stands and Katas with them.

He didn't officially use a staff in his fights however he loved using it in training as it helped refine his mind-to-body connection and style.

Whenever he moved even slightly wrong, or had the slightest error in his form, the staff would swing in a manner that didn't flow beautifully, which helped him master his movements better.

Not to say that his bojutsu isn't good, he's probably the second-best in Konoha at the art. But he truly shines in fist-to-fist martial arts.

"There isn't a single art under the heavens that deserves to be something that I, am not good at." Oden spoke proudly.

He felt stupid but he knew that Migoto was watching. Migoto loved the clan dearly so whenever Oden acted like Madara, Migoto would feel that Oden was on the right path and wouldn't nag him so much.

So Oden had developed extra arrogant behavior in front of Migoto.

'Sigh... it's hard being me..' Oden complained in his mind as he continued dancing around with his staff.

Migoto stood in the shadows smiling ear to ear

"That's right young master, no arts beneath the heavens are above your learning capacity, you're a once in a trillion year genius, even your father who was a once-in-a-millennium-year genius can't compare!" Migoto whispered in pride as he heard Oden speak

Whenever a leaf would fall from the tree which Oden was exercising under, the leaf would land somewhere on Oden's body, and stick there.

After another hour, his body was filled with leaves.

Oden used the leaves to train his chakra control as he trained his martial arts form.

The next day, early in the morning before sunrise, Oden woke up and started running and lifting heavy weights as he usually does.

Mugengan gives him endless stamina, not endless strength so his physical capabilities had to be worked on, and he had worked very hard since the day he started walking.

"Young master, you should take a bath and make yourself ready earlier today." Migoto said, slightly excited to send off Oden to get himself a wife.

'Tsk, this old man, does he want me to build an army of children or something.' Oden thought, but his face betrayed no feelings and he kept a stoic persona. After all, as an 'arrogant' person he couldn't be bothered by every nook and cranny.

Looking up, he saw that the sun was half ways until midday.

When the sun reaches its zenith, and you can't see your shadow as you stand upright, that's when it's midday.

Oden took a bath and put on the clothes that his maid Mina had prepared for him.

As he walked outside the gates he found his grandfather standing there waiting.

"Grandfather, what brings you here?" Oden asked curiously, as his grandfather was like a cat, he arrives and leaves as he wants.

"My grandson is getting engaged, don't I have to go with him so that they don't take advantage?" Akai Zaraki spoke.

Oden saw that his grandfather couldn't even be bothered to dress up, as he had his old robes that he wore when he went fishing.

His grandfather had become really short in the last dozen or so years, and now he only reached right below Oden's chest.

His white, bushy eyebrows were long enough to hide his eyes, but short enough to not look like eye mustaches.

"You don't have to, the Hyuga patriarch claimed to have spoken to father, about a marriage between me and his eldest daughter. I'm going there to continue the discussion, though I don't know how much of that is true." Oden spoke as he started walking beside his grandfather.

"Hmm, it's true, your father consoled me on this matter before, I agreed to it." Akai simply stated.

"I see, then let's see what they have to say before coming to conclusions." Oden said, keeping it short and informed.

As they walked, Oden couldn't help but steal glances at his grandfather.

From what he had heard from Migoto, his grandfather used to be someone you wouldn't want to meet on the battlefield. His reputation was scary.

But right now he looked like a kind, innocent old man.

Migoto even claimed that his grandfather spent so much time on the battlefield that he forgot his birth name, and simply became known as Akai (Red) Zaraki because he was always red from the blood of his enemies.

Oden didn't know how much of that was true as Migoto always fanboyed his grandpa, especially his great-grandpa Yujiro that founded Konoha.

As he was lost in thought, they arrived outside of Hyuga district which was guarded by one chunin that had lost an arm.

"State your business." The guard simply said.
