RINGS

Rings are useful when trying to contact a guild member. They can talk telepathically through the rings. The black ring can contact any ring that is below it, while the lowest ring cannot contact any ring above it. Privacy purposes.

The ring's number one use is for wars. Cuz it's helpful.

Black – Alpha

Red – Betas (Apprentice or students of the Alpha), Sentinels

Yellow – Assassins, Lead Warriors

Blue – Hunters, Scouts, Warriors

White - New on the guild.

A magic mirror is used to observe if a member is qualified to advance to the next color. All a member has to do is to touch the mirror and vuala, they will be designated to where they are suited if they pass.

White is same as a genin in a way that they are new to the guild. As they advance their way to the blue ring, they are then placed to where they are suited. If one is trained in the ways of a hunter and being silent, then he goes to hunter. If one likes to fight upfront, then he goes warrios. Scouts are for those who are sensors and avoid fights as much as they can.

Yellow are like jounin levels. Assassins can lead the hunters and Lead warriors can lead the warriors. Red rings are for Sentinels who are the second-in-command if the Alpha isn't there to lead. The betas also use the red rings since they are the direct apprentince or students of the Alpha. They have some control on the army but as much as the Sentinels.

Last is the Black ring, only accessible for the Alpha. If Naruto resigns and chooses a next alpha for the guild, he will give his ring to the new alpha. (But I think that won't happen anytime soon.)
