7 Sealing Techniques

While learning how to control and perfect my hand signs and understand how to store chakra in my body, I came upon a serious problem, being my dantian. I've noticed that chakra doesn't have where it's being stored in the body, it is always circulating on its own in our chakra pathways with the stomach being the center of convergence, and from there, it will continue circulating through the chakra pathways then to our body and cells to strengthen them. And that's a problem because I want them stored in my dantian.

Now I kind of understand why Sage Training is hard. The natural energy that is mixed with the chakra is also being circulated throughout the body thereby strengthening it beyond the normal human body. Some people are inherently gifted in this art like Hagoromo and his descendants. That's why Naruto just needed a few months of training and he has already surpassed Jiraiya. Even the Uchiha are gifted in it but they just don't try and are always fixated on the Sharingan.

Sasuke's curse mark is a perfect example of that. Due to his Uchiha bloodline, he got used to the natural energy infusion easily and advanced it a lot compared to the 'sound four' and other Orochimaru experiments.

In the anime, they referred to it as chakra pool. This goes to show that the chakra is like a lake or river which continues to flow and can't be restricted. Unless with the use of a seal, which goes to show how interesting seals are.

Seals here can also be like 'Runes' like in most mythologies or 'Inscription' in most cultivation novels. It's all about bending the energy of the world in such a way that it suits what you need them for.

In cultivation novels, these inscription patterns can be used for attacks, defense, and support. It can even be used to draw in more spiritual energy or heavenly energy {Depending on the world's concept of energy} towards a particular area and make that area saturated. It can also be used on weapons or other objects to give them specific attributes. It can also be drawn on a cultivator's body to create a specific trait on the body.

The same can also be said about runes. Odin and future Thor from marvel comics are good examples of how OP runes can be. Scáthach is also an example. {A/N: read them up. U don't have time to be explaining them here}.

And that brings me to my current situation. I am together with Indra and Ashura for our morning classes. When I asked with a curious expression.

"Old man, what are all these writings around the compound and the village?" After all, I can't just ask directly to be taught. I got to show interest.

Turning his attention to me, he said "young Shun, these writings are called seals, they are a type of jutsu that seal objects, living beings, chakra, along with a wide variety of other things within another object. Sealing technique can also be used to restrict movement or unseal objects either from within something or someone.

The presence of a seal is marked by the appearance of formations of technique formulae, kanji, or else other kinds of symbols (likewise with Summoning Techniques).

They can also be used for protection like the ones you see around the village and there are called barrier seals

A unison of barrier ninjutsu and fūinjutsu is referred to as a "Sealing Barrier" (Fūin Kekkai)."

With a smile, he asked, "Are you interested in them, young Shun?"

I nodded with an excited smile. I know there are many other uses of seals that even the old man may not have thought of but if my memory serves me right, then seals is all about language. Minato's Flying Thunder God seal was different from Tobirama's yet they perform the same thing, though their efficiency varies as stated by Tobirama.

Seeing me nod my head, he looked towards Indra and Ashura and asked them if they were interested and they nodded. I'm sure Indra knows what's going on but I doubt Ashura knows. Oh well, who am I to doubt the ancestor of the Uzumaki?

With all three of us taking interest in the sealing art, Hagoromo then nodded with a smile and said "good, from tomorrow your learning schedule will be revised so we can accommodate sealing technique classes"

I don't know whether this will be a good thing or not for the future. I mean, imagine an Indra that knows about seals and an Ashura that will probably be more creative in it than all three of us. I can't wait to see how this action will develop in the future. Though I doubt Ashura or Indra will be as interested in it as I am because Indra like practical works and Ashura is just being Ashura.

"Oh, by the way, Indra and Ashura can decide to learn but young Shun must learn without quitting. Am I clear?" Hagoromo added before he left. I saw a glimmer of joy pass through Ashura's eye as I am sure he is surely delighted that he can decide not to study. After all, seals will surely be like computer coding or advanced mathematics and I am fully prepared. I am not sure why the old man said that, but I sure as hell am not quitting.

Or that's what I thought. Why? Why the fuck did I decide to learn this thing. This is not coding or advanced mathematics or stuff like that. This is not what I signed up for. This is very beyond the mathematics that I thought it will be.

Well, let's recap. The first week was all about precision. Hagoromo gave us a writing brush and animal skin and told us to write all the kanji we know as precisely as ever, without it showing any signs of being crooked. At first, it was a little bit hard but with a week of hard work we all got there. Even Ashura.

The second week was about using Chakra to draw the seals, and that is where the second issue came up. We needed to be as precise as ever with our chakra. Pushing out the bare minimum amount of Chakra unto a desirable fingertip, we repeat the same process as before. Indra got it down during the first week, and Ashura, motivated by his brother also got it down in the next week. I am sure it's all due to their genes.

Or so I'd like to comfort myself. But I am sure I am right. Even Jiraiya and Orochimaru that were said to be the best in the sealing field admitted that they were far inferior to a well-learned Uzumaki. Who am I to complain? I need these seals to attain my end goal so I am not giving up. Maybe Hagoromo foresaw this situation, that's why he said what he said.

With added motivation, I continued drawing the kanjis with the barest and perfect minimum amount of Chakra, and finally, two months later I got it down. Though by the time I was done getting used to the sealing, the two brothers were already perfecting their writing techniques.

One month later, I was sure I have already perfected my writing ability. We also learned that seals can be drawn with anything, such as blood, ink, and others but for it to be perfect, we use chakra and impose our will while performing the seal. Hagoromo introduced the next aspect of sealing that had to do with what happens when you use seals. When you use a sealing technique, it's the idea behind the way that seals work. That is, as you ask a question or think about an issue, your conscious and unconscious minds are focused. When the sealing technique is used, they're not random but are choices that have been made by your subconscious.

I understood this principle the most because I already have prior knowledge about it. It was easier to understand for me than for my fellow students. Another hurdle was finding your own desired language and writing style. Of this, I had no qualms because although the language used here is Japanese, I wonder what will happen if I used another complicated language like English, Spanish or French.

Decisions to make. In the end, I decided to wait and see as I grow older. I have a lot to do but right now, no matter how much I try, my body isn't ready to cultivate natural energy yet. With this, I am going to focus my time on physical training, then hand signs, and then using seals to create a seal on my body that will integrate with my chakra pathways and then force the creation of a dantian in my body.
