Chapter 78: Strange Mission

Title: Strange Mission

"What's the situation with the Uchiha clan?" Hashirama asked as the rushed on the sea toward the land of fire.

The three Senjus looked at eachother before the sensor nodded and began. "It began two weeks after you all left..."

The Daimyo of a small territory in the land of fire had requested the aid of the Senju clan in protecting his land from an enormous serpent who comes to wreck havoc why devouring their livestocks as it saw fit.

This small land was thriving, similar to all the lands in the land of fire but for some reason, another Daimyo wanted this land for himself and resorted to underhanded means to get it.

As a man who wanted the peace his small village brought him, he came to the Senju clan to request for aid.

Flashback

"You really have come." The old man shook the hands of the three Senjus that came to his aid.

"Sorry we're late." The one who looked like the leader said. The name was Takashi and with him were Naoto and Katsushi.

"So, umm... When will you be able to exterminate it?" The old Daimyo asked.

"Lets get it done by today, I want to see this village of yours." Takashi answered while giving the man an assured look.

"Alright." Replied his companions, causing the Daimyo to panic a little.

"P-Please wait." He called out. "I thank you for going to exterminate it but the snake is huge. I have seen my fair share of strong people in my long life so with all due respect, I think you should do a thorough investigation before anything else..."

Takashi looked at the man expressionlessly for a moment before Naoto raised his hand to placate the old man. "Please rest assured. I can guarantee that we'll be fine."

"... Takashi-dono is here after all."

"...?"

'I did say we'll finish it by today but... Naoto-san seems to want to rely on me for this entire mission doesn't he?' Takashi thought

"Well then, we'll check your barn... Is that the barn?" Naoto asked pointing at a wooden building.

"Y-Yes." The Daimyo said and handed them a key.

"Takashi-dono." Naoto said looking at their leader.

"Alright." Takashi said and took the key from Naoto and proceeded to walk towards the barn.

Sniff. Sniff.

"It wasn't my imagination." Katsushi said after sniffing. "I can perceive a familiar odor from inside the barn."

"Familiar odor?" Takashi asked. "Is it the door or the snake?"

"I also smelled the same odor from that sketchy looking man we met on our way here." Katsushi answered.

"Was it the man with the beard under his nose?" The old Daimyo asked.

"Yes, that's right." Katsushi nodded.

"Any idea who it is?" Takashi asked.

"It's probably Totsuku-dono."

"You've spoken of him in the past." Takashi asked.

"Yeah... When I was sending for you the other day, he came and said that he could drive away the snake."

"He's your ordinary Daimyo who's also a merchant who stayed in the capital of fire for quite some time." The old man said forlornly.

"He said he'll do it in exchange for this land." Naoto said.

"A merchant trying to exterminate a snake of that size?... I also thought the same so refused his offer. Plus, this land is the symbol of peace that has been passed down from generation to generation." The old man said.

"I see." Takashi said with a thoughtful expression on his face. "This case is probably the work of that Totsuku-dono."

"Eh....?"

"It's highly possible. Sage animals usually live deep in their respective habitat. It's too suspicious for a snake of that calibre to suddenly make a nest here. He probably did it to get your land." Katsushi reasoned.

"No way... Why would he go so far..." The old man became more depressed.

"Good thing Katsushi is here, we won't have noticed the smell otherwise. Well done Katsushi."

Katsushi nodded with a neutral look on his face.

"If that's the case... We should drive away the snake without killing it if possible." Takashi said.

"How about we render it unconscious and then carry it to the forest?" Naoto asked.

"Good idea, let's go with that." Takashi nodded. "Then, let's check the barn."

Click. Click.

The barn was unlocked and the door pushed open while making a creeking sound.

!!!

Bam.

Takashi closed the door the instance he caught sight of what was inside.

"Err... There are three inside though..."

"But the request only said one...!" Naoto was quick to anger as he looked at the old man.

"I-I only saw one yesterday." He stuttered.

"There's no way it would increase it would increase to three in just a day!" He rebuked.

"Just a drop of this snakes venom is lethal enough...! No one would accept a mission to exterminate three sage animals unless there's a high reward for it!" Takashi chipped in in an angry tone.

"The mission won't change with three, but... The reward should increase significantly." He continued after giving it some thought.

"... I'm sorry. It was actually three from the beginning. Totsuku-dono demanded me to show the contents of the mission, I had to lie. If the people know there are three gigantic snakes nesting here, I feel like they would take extreme actions. Plus, I know that no mercenary would want to hunt these snakes, but I couldn't just sit idly by." The old man explained himself.

"..." The three Senjus just looked at him indifferently for some time before Naoto asked Takashi.

"They'll be sent back to their habitat if they're near death right?"

"Well, they will but... Then let's change the plan. Let's kill them all. I'll do it by myself, just keep a safe distance." Takashi ordered.

"It's dangerous, Takashi-san." Katsushi reasoned.

"Don't worry, it'll be over in an instant. Stand back Katsu." Takashi said and pulled out his sword.

His presence shifted at that moment as he walked back into the barn. The three snakes that were sleeping peacefully noticed his presence and rose up.

They all trained their eyes on him as their respective auras bore down on him.

'A sword art that can instantly kill three enemies.... This one should do it... I've been training this in order to keep up with Tobirama-sama, I guess it'll finally be helpful.'

Taking a deep breath he muttered. "Raiton: Godspeed."

Bzzt!

Takashi's figure vanished as soon as the lightning sound was heard and in an instant he was atop one of the snakes head, without wasting much time, he flickered again and appeared atop another snake.

He repeated this once more and returned to the front of the barn.

Puff. Puff. Puff...

"..."

There was a moment of silence as both Senjus and Daimyo looked at Takashi in shock.

"A-Amazing. It really ended in an instant." Katsushi said with a look of amazement. This was his first time seeing his fellow Senju fighting alone.

Unlike in the battlefield where you didn't have the luxury of looking around for fear of dying unknowingly, during separate missions like this, they could better understand the strengths of their clansmen.

"I believe our work here is done. I'll be waiting for the reward...times three." Takashi said to the old man, but before the old man could say anything a loud shout interuppted them.

"Y-YOU GUYS... What have you done!?" A fat man came running towards them with an angry expression, if his voice wasn't an indicator.

He was garbed in what looked like expensive kimono with a golden cane in his hand. With one look, one would understand that this man didn't understand the concept of frugality.

"Those were Kobayashi's.... Damnit!" The fat man shouted.

"Totsuku-dono. So you really are the one behind this...!" The old Daimyo asked with an angry look.

"Oi Totsuku, which one is Jagoro?" A gruff voice came from behind the fat man as a hand patted his shoulder causing him to flinch.

"I'll cut off his head with my heavy sword in a grandiose way." The owner of the gruff voice continued as he revealed himself to the Senju.

He was a middle aged man with black hair, black eyes and carried a huge sword on his shoulders. His armour was also black in colour with an insigna that made the Senjus to frown.

The man looked into the barn only to notice the absence of the snakes causing his tone to change. "Hey! What's the meaning of this..!? Why are my pets gone?"

"It's them... It's the work of those Senjus Jagoro called." The fat man pointed at the Senjus.

"Senjus!?" The man asked with an angry tone.

"..."

They all looked at eachother for a few seconds.

"I get it... It was you wasn't it? The one who killed my pets." He said and pointed his sword at Katsushi.

"No... You also have high chakra." He said as he pointed at Naoto. "Well, whatever. I'm just gonna kill the rest of the three. As for you two, I'm going to cut all your wings, I'll return the favour for killing my beloved pets."

"Jagoro, you should blame yourself. You should've accepted my offer." The fat man smirked at the old man.

"Why are you so fixated on getting this land!?" The old man asked in anger.

"It's simple." The fat man answered and spread his hand dramatically with a look of euphoria and said. "It's because I want to build a mansion on this land. I'm going to enjoy the rest of my life gazing at the clouds. It's the best lifestyle one would wish for as a merchant."

"How pitiful." The old man lost his previous anger and only looked at the fat man in pity.

"Hah! Say anything you want! I would've paid you if you were willing to give up your land. I wouldn't have to kill you if you didn't hire the Senjus. This is the end Jagoro! You're going to die here." The fat man shouted hysterically,.

"Totsuku, two among them are quite strong. You'd better give me the appropriate reward for this. Don't deceive me." The middle-aged man said with a serious tone.

"Hehehe. Of course, I won't lie to you. I'll pay twice the amount of you kill them. But I won't pay if you can't kill them." the fat man said.

"Humph, who do you think you're talking to. I am an Uchiha." The middle-aged man snorted as he walked towards the three Senjus with a sinister look on his face.

"Who wants to get killed first? I'm going to let you guys choose amongst yourselves." The Uchiha said with a smirk.

Takashi who had been ignored since the beginning shook his head and was about to pull out his sword once more when Katsushi said.

"I'll go,"

"Eh..? Katsushi."

"Are you sure you want to challenge me by yourself? The other guy behind you can join as well." The Uchiha said.

"Then... I'll take you up on that..."

"Takashi-dono, please stand back."

"..."

"Tsk! I don't like this at all. It makes me sick. When I see someone like you who's normal, being accompanied and protected despite being a Senju!" The Uchiha said in annoyance as the veins on his head began to pop out.

"Should I kill you First?" He asked as the ground beneath him began to rumble to to the sheer pressure he was emanating.

But that slight moment cost him as both Katsushi and Naoto used that instant to appear before him and slashed and stabbed their blade respectively.

His Sharingan activated before they could reach him and placed his great sword vertically in front of him.

"What an energetic duo. Do you want to okay with me that much? Very nice." He said and swung the blade upwards pushing them back.

'He pushed them back in that stance?' Takashi wondered in shock. The Uchiha wasn't taking any special stance, he was just standing as usual and was still able to exert enough force to push the two Senjus back.

'What power.' Naoto thought as she regained her balance midair and landed only to be assaulted by the Uchiha as he screamed. "I'll grant your wish. And play with you! Until I am satisfied." He said and he slashed with every sentence.

"Hmm?" In a moment of distraction, he didn't notice Naoto who appeared from below him and stabbed at his neck. Luckily, his Sharingan picked up the movement and he was able to move his head to the side, avoiding the stab and was instead, cut on the cheek.

With the momentum he used to dodge the stab, he raised his knee so as to make Naoto smash his face on it, but as a seasoned warrior, Naoto was able to bring his left hand to his face to block the knee strike. The force however pushed him backwards, or rather, he allowed the force to push him backwards.

"You're quite good." Naoto praised.

"Oh? You managed to guard it in that brief moment. As expected of a Senju." The Uchiha praised and appeared to have relaxed his guard only to move slightly to his left in the next moment and avoiding a slash to his neck.

'He can even dodge that?' Naoto thought as she rushed in to take advantage of his movements.

"Do you know that you really suck at sneak attacks?" The Uchiha taunted them both but was met with silence as the two Uchihas slashed and stabbed ferociously.

"As expected. You're all capable Senju." The Uchiha said with a smile as he comfortably evaded their attacks.

"Katsushi. Now." Naoto shouted causing the Uchiha to freeze as he suddenly felt another chakra signature from behind him.

"Raiton: Raiden no Kami."

A devastating pillar of lightning suddenly appeared in front of him and as he was late to realize he was struck point blank by the Jutsu as both Naoto and Katsushi's clone flickered away.

"Nice one Katsushi." Naoto praised as they both regrouped and looked at the smoked Uchiha.

As the dust cleared they were baffled to see the Uchiha still standing with his sword planted into he ground. "SHIIITTTT." He screamed.

If he hadn't directed the lightning strike into the ground with his sword, he probably wouldn't have survived that. He was pissed. Really pissed.

"Uchiha-dono?" Totsuku called out.

"YOU... FUCKING... SHIIITTTT." He screamed even louder as the pattern of his Sharingan changed into the Mangekyou Sharingan.

"BERSERK." He screamed, causing his eyes to bleed as his chakra to run amok, his body blackened and took an iron tint.

"..!!" The two Senjus were alarmed by the change that just occured.

"Is that the Mangekyou Sharingan's ability?" Naoto asked in a shaky voice. The chakra oozing out of the Uchiha wasn't something they could fight against

'Naoto is pretty shaken up. This is becoming troublesome.' Takashi thought.

"Since you're a Senju you should know what this is." The Uchiha said as he pointed at his eyes. "I might get hit once, but don't think it'll work against me anymore!" He screamed as his body finally fully transformed into a bulging body of muscles. "I AM INVINCIBLE IM THIS STATE ."

"That looks pretty bad." Takashi said out loud to the two Senjus fighting.

"YOU SHUT UP OVER THERE! I'M CURRENTLY PLAYING WITH THESE TWO HERE." he screamed at Takashi.

"Naoto!" Katsushi called out as Naoto flashed and attacked the 'distracted' Uchiha but as a sensor, he had a better grasp on the nature of the man in front of them now.

"I'm going to initiate." Naoto simply said.

"No, stop Naoto." Katsushi shouted only for it to fall on deaf ears.

Clink!

Naoto's sword made a clinking sound as it made contact with the Uchiha body and snapped.

"Wha-" Naoto froze in shock.

"Too bad for you." The Uchiha smirked as he levied a punch at Naoto sending her flying and crashing on a tree nearby.

"Naoto!" Katsushi shouted.

"Looks like you don't know much about the Mangekyou Sharingan. When I'm in this state powered by the Mangekyou Sharingan, only someone with a Mangekyou Sharingan can defeat me. I'll say it once again. In this state, I'm invincible to both physical attacks and Ninjutsus." He said arrogantly before turning to Naoto who was having troubles standing up.

"Now. I'm going to start with you." He said as he raised his sword up to cleave at Naoto.

"Raiton: Lightning Strike."

"Wha-!?"

Bzzt!

Katsushi said as he appeared behind the Uchiha in a burst of speed and slashed at his neck, successful drawing blood.

"No... Way... You..." The Uchiha said as he knelt down and collapsed.

Everyone looked on in shock at the swift change in events. Totsuku was thinking. 'Didn't he just say he was invincible?'

As everyone had their own thoughts, Katsushi approached Naoto and gave him a hand. "Are you okay?"

Grabbing the hand, he smiled. "Yes, thank you."

"Think nothing of. It. It's what I should do." Katsushi said light heartedly only for them to suddenly notice a shift in the air only to turn and see a standing Uchiha.

"What?"

"He can still stand up?"

Were the two honest reaction at that instant.

"I'VE SAID IT... I'M INVINCIBLE IN THIS STATE. [RESURRECTION]. THAT IS THE TRUE IDENTITY OF THIS ABILITY." The Uchiha's eerie voice came as a black chakra began emanating from him forming up a black ribcage, a skeletal hand with a spear in it's hand.

"You should feel proud you've pushed me this far and for that, I'll use my strongest technique. [Amenonuhoko]{A/N This means 'Heaven's Spear.'}." He said as he attempted to throw it at the stumbling Naoto.

Time seemed to stop for the three of them, two because they felt death so close to them, one because he felt victory so close, but at that very instant, another figure appeared in-between them, and before they could comprehend what was going on, the heard. "Thunderclap and flash: Twelve fold,"

Whether it was the Uchiha or the Senjus, they all couldn't comprehend what happened as at that very moment, The Uchiha simply exploded from within his Susanno while the two Senjus were still reveling in the shock of cheating death.

"Sigh. What a pain. You've caused me to use an unfinished technique. But the result is good... Wonder how it compares to Tobirama's Flying Thunder God." Takashi said in a tired voice.

First off... I'll have you all Know that I don't particularly see the Senju clan as anything really strong. Yes, Hashirama has the Wood Release, but that's only him.

The only other important thing about them is that they have enormous Chakra reserves on par with the Uchiha clan.

So don't think I'm nerfing or deliberately making the Senju clan weak. That's just how I see it. Since the Uchiha clan has the Sharingan and little chakra, I believe they make up for it with perfect, or near perfect chakra control.

While the Senju clan, just has the enormous chakra and Physical strength to go toe to toe with the....
