35 Gaining Strength!
{A week Later}
During the next week, battles broke out around all the battlefields. Suddenly every country found itself caught up in unexpected ambushes by the other nations. It was like every nation had sent assault squads targeting everyone else.
As the casualty rate increased the amount of troops being sent into the battle also increased.
Huge battles erupted across the small countries that acted as a buffer between the five major villages. Among them, the Land of Noodles was in the safest place yet as Kiri hadn't extended from their borders just yet, so no fights had broken out from that front, and the Land of Rain was the worst hit.
Unlike what happened in the Land of Grass where Sakumo stood as the unwavering mountain causing Iwa to go on the passive, the deterrent of Orochimaru and the rest of his teammates wasn't enough for Suna to back out.
Combine that with Chiyo's rage at her son and daughter-in-law's death, she was particularly ruthless in her application of poisons as she pushed forward to meet Konoha's platoons. In all this chaos 2 civilians who were 'insignificant' to this war died leaving behind an orphan named Nagato.
It was a small incident that nobody cared about and a hungry Nagato met two more orphans like him and the dream to bring peace to the shinobi world was born.
While the dream was born as a spark of hope, countless explosions raged throughout the Land of Rain as within the next week several of Suna's teams clashed with Konoha's platoons led by their commanders.
Hikaru wasn't far away from the battle. As his body count kept increasing he gained his first nickname.

It wasn't the most threatening nickname, but that's what the shinobi of Suna called him after he had ripped through the genin and chunins of one of their platoon in half. As Hikaru gained more 'experience' in battle his fully matured Sharingan started showing its full potential.
Along with that with his body's hidden stats, it was quite easy for him to navigate through the battlefield.
"Hikaru, let's go. We are going back to the base camp, the battle will continue after a bit, Suna's retreating we won on this front." Yuna smiled at the small shinobi in front of her. She knew he was the number one genius to come out of the clan by a fair margin, but the way he adapted to the battlefield was too quick, too monstrous.
Hikaru nodded as he stood up from the rock, he was keeping watch just like everybody else after last night's battle. Suna had retreated back so his platoon would be doing the same. He had realized that this war was going to go on for a long while, with the 5 hidden villages competing against each other for resources and land.
'As the losses accumulate the loser would further invest in the war trying to somehow win and cut back on some of the losses, thus increasing the duration of this war.' Hikaru thought, it had barely been a week and he already felt tired, fighting on a battlefield was a lot more grimy and slow than he thought it would be.
With so many projectiles and jutsu's flying around, everybody had to be cautious at all times, otherwise, they could die at any moment from a stray attack. Hikaru's Sharingan allowed him to put to rest most of these problems but fighting with just taijutsu seemed like an idiotic move.
He opened his status screen as he walked away and looked at the kenjutsu he had copied from one of the Konoha Jonins.

It wasn't a game-changing skill when it came to its actual effects, but it allowed Hikaru to more actively use a saber and all of his capabilities during a fight without wasting chakra. Using Kenjutsu was far deadlier than using taijutsu and a lot more chakra effective than using ninjutsu.
It had quickly become his preferred way of battle, Hikaru looked at the saber that was holstered onto his back, he thought back to the chunin from Suna who had 'accidentally' lost this. It wasn't as fancy as a chakra blade but seeing the deadly effectiveness with which some of the Suna Jonin used their sabers gave Hikaru the desire to master wind nature chakra.
'I remember the basic process from the show, a shadow clone practicing it wouldn't harm much, even if I could gain just a basic proficiency in it it could change the effectiveness by a lot...' Hikaru thought as he folded his small tent and sealed it in a storage seal.
'Speaking of which the exploding seal tag is almost at max level, I wonder what bonus I would get from it...' Hiakru thought. He had left behind one shadow clone at base camp and its main purpose was to grind the explosive tags to level the seal up. With all the material provided by Konoha, he didn't have to worry about selling anything to recoup his losses and his clone just focused nonstop on making the same seal without charging them.
'It's been almost a week, the clone should be running out of chakra soon, I need to get ready for the rush of memories,' Hikaru thought as he looked at the experience bar on his exploding seal go up by 1 again.

Hikaru and his platoon were coming back to base camp, they were quite close to the border when he froze as a rush of memories came to him.
It took a few seconds for Hikaru to sort through everything as he closed his eyes and watched his clone monotonously draw one fuinjutsu seal after another. In a few moments, he accumulated a week's worth of Fuinjutsu experience.
Contrary to popular opinion on various fanfictions, one doesn't fry his brain if he/she takes a lot of memory feedback from the Shadow Clone Jutsu. The human brain was far more sophisticated and according to the studies humans barely used 10% of their brain for conscious actions.
While Shinobi were nothing like Lucy(the movie), capable of molding and transforming themselves into whatever they desire... okay maybe they sort of did, somewhat, but that still means that our brains are capable of so much more. Just these advanced capabilities are locked behind our own genetic code.
After a few seconds of stabilizing Hikaru opened his eyes and stared at the notification in front of him.
'Well... this was unexpected.'

Hikaru was ready for his exploding scroll to level up, what he didn't expect was his skill basic fuinjutsu to level up as well. Some new seals and concepts also appeared in his brain as he now understood some new kanjis and how they were linked to the elements.
The Intermediate Exploding tag in itself was also a far more complicated seal compared to its basic counterpart. Depending on the requirements Hikaru could now make 5 different types of explosive tags, each of which can hold chakra of a different element.
'This is a game-changer for the Water jutsu users, the water explosive tag could not only work as a C-Rank water-based attack but also could provide water in an environment that didn't innately have water....'
Along with that, he gained two more skills that came with the knowledge he gained from Intermediate Fuinjutsu. The Seal compression allowed him to shorten the formula of a seal that he wrote.
'But this is far more important, it was the way in which Minato applied his Hiraishin tags on opponents.'

An image of him using taijutsu to fight someone, while at the same time applying an explosion seal right on their body appeared in his mind.
'Fuck Rasengan I need to grind this, right now the time taken to apply a seal is too long, I have to shorten the time taken while mastering seals.' Hikaru thought as he looked up, they were right around the corner from the base camp.
Modified Tiger
A shadow clone popped up next to Hikaru and then it dashed toward his tent, a few people glanced at him but they ignored his antics. Almost everyone was tired after the trek back to base camp.
Yuna and Hikaru went back to the commander's tent to report, even though Yuna did all of the commander duties, since he was nominated by Tsunade as part of the team he had to be there too. Not like anyone was going to stop him.
Almost all the battalion commanders were there and along with them was an unexpected face.
"Koichi-sensei!" Hikaru happily exclaimed, although Koichi looked tired a quick look with the Sharingan revealed that he was fine for the most part.
"Hey kid, heard you were doing okay," Koichi smirked at Hikaru, he was the one who knew just how talented Hikaru was so he wasn't surprised by the exploits he had managed to gather in the war until now.
"Nothing much, what are you guys doing over here, what about the Land of River?" Hikaru asked.
"The only country that could attack from there is Suna and since most of Suna's battalion is focused here, the elite teams were transferred over to this battlefield," Koichi replied, he leaned against the wall beside Hikaru as they settled into a familiar rhythm.
"Anyway, how are you holding up?" Koichi asked as he lowered his voice.
Hikaru didn't know how to answer that question, he looked in a daze remembering his first kill and how easy it was to deal with a Jonin.
"It was easy... too easy," Hikaru whispered, he gave Koichi a grim smile and nodded. A grave look on his face as he sighed.
'War...' Koichi thought, but before he could dwell on that thought some more, Danzo walked into the tent.
'Right, Danzo was the commander of the force stationed at the Land of River. Now that he is here will he take over the command, I have to be a bit more careful when I interact with him...' Hikaru thought as his eyes clashed with Danzo's.
His Sharingan flared to life as he stared at Danzo's face but then he took back the chakra from his eyes and nodded to Danzo.
