19 Second Shinobi World War

The next day, Dango woke up bright and early.

Immediately, he noticed that Hex was nowhere near him. Dango wasn't worried at all.

Ever since they moved in with the Ame Orphans, Dango was unable to feed Hex most of the time. Initially, it was upset, but it quickly adapted to the new changes. The cursed spirit would hunt for its food, usually targeting the fish in the lake nearby.

Moreso, Dango wasn't worried about its safety. From what he knew, cursed spirits couldn't be attacked or be noticed by others that don't have cursed energy.

In addition, Dango believed that Hex should be the only cursed spirit in the Naruto world if you exclude his Dungeon Formation.

Nothing should be able to locate Hex, nor successfully attack it in the Naruto World.

Though, Dango was concerned about the ecosystem as he basically introduced an invasive, apex predator...

When Dango cleaned up, he started doing chores around the house. As he was doing so, a window appeared in front of him. For a moment, Dango thought he obtained a skill for chores. Instead, it was a mission notification about the second shinobi world war! The same mission he had gotten three years ago.

=====

[Mission: Second Shinobi World War]

Description: You've seen the signs. The Second Shinobi World War will officially begin very soon. Survive long enough for it to end!

Progression: 1/1 Don't die during the Second Shinobi World War

Reward: 20 CC, [Cursed Tool: Shiny Kunai]

=====

Dango didn't remember when the war would end, so it was an unexpected, yet delightful surprise. He became ever happier after he saw the rewards.

Twenty cursed coins was a lot! Now, Dango's total cursed coins reached 102! He was eager to start spending them, but he refrained from doing so. He wanted to save up to purchase the book about curtains. He was interested in the topic and thought it was a neat thing to learn about.

He didn't expect to receive a cursed tool alongside the twenty cursed coins reward. Dango opened his status page and saw that there was a new addition to the Jujutsu section; the Shiny Kunai. He took it out of the status and examined it.

The first thing he noticed was that the tool was very, very shiny, just like the name suggested. It was so shiny that Dango believed he could melt someone's eyeballs by reflecting the sunlight off.

=====

[Shiny Kunai]

Grade: Four

Description: A cursed tool that is infused with cursed energy. It has a curse that allows it to clean itself as long as the user imbues it with cursed energy. The more cursed energy that is imbued, the quicker the cleaning process will become.

=====

'Huh. I mean, it's something.' Instantly, Dango's ecstatic mood somewhat diminished. Although it was a cursed tool, it had a useless curse in his opinion.

Dango tested the cursed tool's curse by throwing it into the muddy ground outside of the house.

He picked it up and imbued a sliver amount of cursed energy into it. He saw the mud and grime that was attached to the kunai slowly fall off.

He poured in more cursed energy and saw the cleaning process quicken. It took less than two minutes for the tool to return to its shiny appearance.

He placed it back into his status page and returned inside to continue with chores. While he was doing so, Hex would come back and drop things off that it had found during its exploration.

The cursed spirit would mainly bring animal carcasses that it had personally killed but chose not to devour. Other than that, it would also bring in random stuff like broken ninja weapons or ryo.

"Bruh. I just cleaned that." Dango grabbed Hex's trophy kills and threw them into the lake to feed the fishies. He wanted to 'tame' the fishes and advance the [Basic Taming] skill.

Hex didn't seem to mind Dango's decisions, thankfully. Though, it did keep bringing dead animals to Dango as if he was a garbage truck.

As for the broken ninja weapons, Dango attempted to fix them, but only a few were still viable. He carefully disposed of the irredeemable ones and stashed the rest. He also kept the ryo.

Dango continued doing that until the end of the day where he fell asleep. When he woke up, he decided to continue training himself while he waited for his siblings to come back home.

Although he trained his skills, he placed more focus on his taijutsu and genjutsu.

For taijutsu, he tested out what he called 'Cursed Taijutsu.' It was basically taijutsu combined with cursed energy application. He added 'cursed' since JJK had cursed objects, cursed tools, etc.

He tested out his cursed taijutsu in the Cursed Dungeons he had formed. He confirmed that he was strong enough to easily deal with the spirits residing in grade four dungeons without using any weapons.

As for genjutsu, Dango was steadily getting better at it. His training consisted of trapping animals in a genjutsu. He practiced with the local fish whenever he fed them and was able to immobilize and manipulate them.

He also wanted to create 'Cursed Genjutsu,' but it was very difficult to do so. Like taijutsu, it was combining genjutsu with cursed energy.

He had two possible ideas he could think of.

One; he knew that genjutsu did stuff with chakra, the brain, and senses. For cursed genjutsu, he wanted to see if he could still create illusions but out of cursed energy. However, he didn't know if it was possible as genjutsu didn't work on those who didn't have chakra. What if cursed genjutsu wouldn't work on non-cursed energy users?

Two; combining cursed energy and chakra together to create entirely new energy, or simply control them to work together peacefully without any interference.

Dango preferred the second part of the second idea more.

He created more Cursed Dungeons to train his control over chakra and cursed energy on the spirits within them, using them as test subjects.

While he was doing so, Dango learned that spirits formed inside his Cursed Dungeons could fall into a genjutsu. It made sense considering the 10% option reward.

Of course, he didn't neglect other training. He steadily became more proficient in the other jutsu categories.
