8 Home, Sweet Home [Revised]

Since they were heading to the same place, Tsunade and Orochimaru also tagged along with Jiraiya and Dango.

He grabbed onto Dango and flickered away towards the direction of Amegakure as his comrades quickly followed behind.

Dango had a blast as he felt the wind sliding across his face. They were moving at such high speeds that before he knew it, they had already arrived within the village hidden in the rain.

Once inside, Tsunade and Orochimaru separated from them as they headed to the mission's meet-up point. Dango gave Jiraiya the necessary directions to his house, which he found it surprising to still remember.

Once they were there, Jiraiya made sure that the coast was clear before they entered. Caught up in his own acting, Dango gave the future Sannin a tour of his lovely abode.

Jiraiya quickly cooked something up for Dango and happily watched him gorge down the food.

"Say, Dango... After my mission, do you want to live in the village I grew up in?"

'This is it! Plan numero uno! Just gotta play it smoothly...'

"Okay! Sure!"

Raising an eyebrow, Jiraiya quested him, "That was quick. What about your mother?"

"I think Mommy will agree! She was always sad when she looked at the rain. Does your home rain a lot?"

"Oh... Yeah, Konoha doesn't rain as often as Amegakure. I'll look for your mom and talk with her about it!"

Once Dango finished his meal, Jiraiya realized how long he had been away. Promising to return after the mission, Jiraiya quickly flickered away to the mission's gathering point.

Excited for the future, Dango went to go pack up his things so he could get ready for the move.

When he finished, he decided to look at the system notifications he obtained that he had ignored.

It had occurred when he saw the future Sannin with his own eyes. However, he was too focused on acting that he had quickly forgotten about it.

Now that he had read through it, Dango practically jumped in excitement. He was pleasantly surprised that he obtained his first jutsu! Three of them, nonetheless! Though, their names were lackluster...

Dango read through each of the summoning jutsus' descriptions to get a better idea of what they were about.

=====

When he finished reading each description, he found that he instantly knew how to summon his future tiny friends.

'It's a bit different from what I remember. So, I have to do this?'

He clapped his hands together and opened up his hands as if he was waiting for food to drop into it.

"Summoning jutsu! Tiny toad!"

*poof*

In his hands, a tiny toad appeared.

"Hello! Ribbit!" Dango greeted it.

It silently turned to Dango before jumping away. Shocked, Dango ran after it.

He couldn't find it.

Hoping that the toad would be safe and wouldn't become an invasive species, Dango went to his backyard and to his mother's garden. Since he didn't know how long he would be waiting, he wanted to start growing the cursed seed he had gotten.

In case Jiraiya came back before it finished growing, he managed to find a transportable pot to plant it in.

He figured out how to take the cursed seed out of his system by having it display his status page. Then he shoved his hand into the jujutsu section and pulled out what looked like a sunflower seed.

'Can I eat this? Kinda smells. Focus! Plant! I want to see my first cursed spirit.'

He dug up some dirt from his mother's garden and placed it into his pot. Afterward, he shoved the cursed seed deep into it. He brought the pot inside so that it wouldn't be flooded by the rain.

'Hm... What else should I do?'

=====

Meanwhile, after Jiraiya left Dango, he finally arrived at the designated mission spot. It was a large camp that consisted of several Konoha ninjas running about.

He quickly found his teammates and met up with them, surprising them.

With a puzzled expression, Tsunade asked her teammate, "What are you doing here, Jiraiya? Did you bring Dango with you?"

"What? Why would I bring a toddler with me? Have you grown senile? And I'm here because of the mission."

"Call me senile again and I'll punch you!"

"Sorry!"

"*Sigh* Anyways, I just thought you would be away longer."

"Huh? Why would I?"

"Jiraiya, did you leave the child by himself?" Orochimaru interjected.

Taking a peek at Tsunade's chest, Jiraiya still answered, "Yeah, wh-"

Before he could continue, he was punched into the ground by Tsunade, immediately drawing other ninjas' attention.

"You think a kid can take care of themself?! Idiot!"

Holding his head, Jiraiya quickly explained, "He's already well fed. Besides, I promised to bring him to Konoha after the mission ends. I'll try to go look for his mother in case she's sti-. "

Before he could continue, he was interrupted by a scream, "Enemy ninjas!"

Putting all thoughts related to Dango to the back of his head, he and his comrades went out to deal with the attackers.

Unfortunately, Jiraiya had ultimately forgotten about the three-year old. After he completed the mission, he got distracted by other things. Tsunade and Orochimaru also forgot to remind Jiraiya.

Seven days later...

'Do missions take this long?'
