“The Situation In Konoha.”

'Anyway, let's focus on how far I've come over the past two years. My eyes have improved greatly; I can already see things a hundred kilometres away from me on a microscopic level. Although, I still don't know if that's my limit. Not only that, I can sense and decipher any sort of electrical signals and messages that it conveys.' He thought when he suddenly noticed a tiny bug imperceptible to human eyes slowly gaiting away through the branch.

He activated the taiyougan and his ethereal eyes glowing with magnificence focused on the tiny little creature. The vision before him was enlarged so was the tiny bug. Its red body with black spots all around and tiny little legs as if strands of hair were crystal clear to the all-seeing eyes of Karna.

He focused a bit more and his eyes trailed into the insides of the bug. Its blood flowing through vessels thinner than even a hair was as clear as a picture of a pipe to Karna. Then his eyes focused again and cells far less than humans yet more intricate were perceptible to him. The veins around his eyes bulged up as he supported the sides of his temple with his index and middle finger.

The vision was enlarged again, from cells it moved to DNA, and from DNA it moved to helix bonds brimming with different colours as it rotated on its path.

Suddenly, Karna closed his eyes and grabbed his head with a frown on his face.

'Seems looking into someone's cells, and mapping out their helix bonds is my limit for now.' Karna sighed relaxing his body again on the trunk and took the bottle beside him.

'Well, at least the ability to shoot beams through my eyes improved by leaps and bounds. My atomic vision— named on a whim— is much more versatile than any other power. It can not only shoot beams but also change the temperature of the beams; I can decide to either melt or freeze an entire forest whenever I desire.' He thought and a blue beam shot out from his right eye and blasted the bottom of the bottle, freezing half of the bottle in a block of ice within a mere second.

"Handy!" He chugged down the water in the bottle and resumed watching the village far away.

'Even though I improved my arsenal of ninjutsu by going around copying every other jutsu I can find, I still need more jutsus to gain insight into the project I'm working on. Thankfully, I have Taiyougan that lets me use jutsus as if muscle memory after I use them just once. I can only find the jutsus I'm looking for in the village that breeds 'will of fire'. It disgusts me to even think about Konoha and how this world is centred around it; how they're making everybody do their bidding into confronting troubles that are nothing but consequences of the mistakes done by their failures. And, after all that, they have the gall to act like the saviour of mankind.' There was no change in Karna outwardly, but within his mind, he was fuming in anger realising how Konoha has been deceiving the entire world for decades.

'I've copied much ninjutsu already; living in Kirigakure and being well-versed in water ninjutsu is a must so I had no option other than going around copying any useful ninjutsu I could find. My proficiency in the four-element wind, lightning, water and yang has already reached the maximum. It's not hard for me to use some simple ninjutsu without the use of hand signs at all. If I activate Taiyougan I can perform more complex ninjutsu without any hand signs whatsoever. Now, I can advance with the project that I've been thinking about.' Karna thought as he suddenly looked beside him and a figure wearing a fox mask appeared there.

"So?" Karna asked moving his head to look into the village again.

"I've bought crucial news master. Yesterday, the Kyubi escaped its seal and went on a rampage in Konoha. The casualties were very high as the newly appointed 4th Hokage and his wife, the only surviving Uzumaki, died trying to seal the Kyubi. Many civilians as well as ninjas died in the rampage and it is predicted that the Uchihas are behind the attack. After the incident, the 3rd Hokage took office again. Ringo was unable to determine the new vessel that the Kyubi was sealed in. Please forgive me." The masked man said in a monotonous voice without a single pause.

"What about Yagura? How's he doing?"

"Mizukage sama has gotten more distracted from his cause and often stays at the office without coming back to the clan mansion. He seems distracted almost all the time as spying on him has become even easier. I think the deteriorating situation and the ongoing internal conflicts within the village are taking a toll on him."

"Well, it seems the time has come for us to finally advance with our plans," Karna said as he looked at the silent figure beside him. "Stop acting like an Anbu to act cool. I can't make you a Mizukage if you keep acting foolish."

"Sorry, master." the crouching figure pulled out his mask, revealing a youth no more than twelve years old with blond hair and pink eyes. He scratched his head with embarrassment and looked sideways ignoring Karna's gaze.

'Well, he's still a kid I guess.' Karna thought smirking at the boy before him.

"Oh, I've bought something for Master on my way back from the border." The boy said and pulled out two sticks wrapped in paper from his pouch.

Suddenly, a lively aroma permeated the air that beckoned Karna to sniff around for its source. His raised eyebrows spoke of his shock.

"What is that?" Karna asked having difficulty concealing his eagerness.

"It's called yakitori, a food that recently became famous in the land of water. I thought Master would like it so I bought it along with me." The boy said as he passed the paper-wrapped sticks drenched in oil toward Karna, but before he could properly outstretch his hand, the sticks were swiftly snatched away from him.

'Is it what they mean by finding a lost treasure?' Karna thought as he looked at the two sticks before him with relaxed eyes.

He quickly unwrapped them, unveiling chicken meat neatly grilled on skewers with Negi-ma, sprinkled salt and oozing sauce. Karna examined the skewers with exceedingly gentle eyes as if he had found a long-lost friend.
