1 How it started

NCT, an acronym for Neo Culture Technology, is a South Korean boy group under SM Entertainment. They are best known for being able to have an unlimited number of members and sub-units.

The group first debuted the rotational sub-unit NCT U on April 9, 2016 with the singles "The 7th Sense" and "Without You".

The next sub-unit to debut was the fixed sub-unit NCT 127 on July 7, 2016 with their self titled mini album NCT #127.

The third sub-unit to debut was NCT Dream on August 24, 2016 with the digital single "Chewing Gum". The sub-unit was to have a graduation system that would be later removed in 2020.

They debuted the project group NCT 2018 with the release of their album NCT 2018 Empathy.

The most recent sub-unit to debut was their Chinese based sub-unit, WayV, on January 17, 2019 with the digital EP The Vision.

They debuted the project group NCT 2020 with the release of their album NCT Resonance Pt. 1.
