Chapter 1: Evolution Timeline

In the year 2022, the pandemic outbreak had come to an end as everything finally returned to normal.

One night, a floating blue light appeared above the Empire State building causing everyone to panic as they watch the blue light with curious eyes.

Believed to be an extraterrestrial-related phenomenon that caused the citizens to be alert but neither one of them left as they record it with their phones.

Something came out from the blue light that flew from the night sky. Thinking it was a big bird of some sort, the creature latched on to a civilian and ripped it in half as it ate it with a single gulp.

Everyone started to panic and flee from the scene and more birds flew out of the blue light and began slaughtering everyone on sight.

Guns didn't work on the birds as their hide was as hard as steel but the military manage to defend with ballistic weapons that showed an effective response.

This didn't last long as more and more blue lights appeared in all parts of the globe causing havoc and destruction.

The world was yet again driven in a state of calamity. One which is 100 times more dangerous than the pandemic.

The effort of defeating the monsters that appeared on this blue light was futile as more and more monsters appeared becoming more powerful and dangerous than the last.

Having no other choice, the government had to use their last resort, which was nuclear weapons.

The nuclear weapons showed great results as they manage to kill most of the monsters. The government began to lure the monsters into the rural countries of the world causing a massive controversy but didn't last long as they had no choice but to do it.

Many third-rate countries evacuate their citizens to powerhouse countries which included the majority of the southeast Asian countries to go to China, Russia, and the US. Many African countries also evacuated to European countries as they were also swarmed by monsters they could not defend.

They lured the swarm of monsters in one place and fired nuclear bombs at them turning the entire plateau into a wasteland. Most of the countries affected by the bombs were third-rate countries and without any other choice, they permanently migrated to their evacuated country.

The world was surely ending as in just a month, the overall population had decreased by more than half of the entire population meaning 3.8 billion citizens had died from the catastrophe.

This didn't stop the portals from appearing as more monsters appeared but as all hope had lost, a new rift appeared this one which was a brighter blue.

Humanoid beings appeared from the portals and they were beings only derived from textbooks to myths. Some even looked like evolutions of other organisms.

Elves, Dwarves, Beastmen, Ancient Warriors, Alien-like-people, Fish-like-men, and many more appeared from these rifts. These humanoid beings didn't come here to harm but helped humanity to stand up from their feet again.

They were wearing and wielding equipment far from being called a technological craft and many wondered if those weapons could even work against the monsters.

These weapons were simply bows, swords, axes, and many other weapons used in the past but as they began to attack the monsters, their weapons were quite effective against them.

They were then showed otherworldly powers that only existed in fantasy. An elf shot an arrow that formed a gale wind that penetrated a giant monitor lizard. A dwarf smashed his hammer on the ground which caused an earthquake and spikes of Earth appeared that pierced the body of a giant bear.

All of them showed Superhuman powers causing everyone to be in awe of the sight as their eyes were filled with hope.

They knew for sure that these humanoids were sentient beings like them but more powerful so they didn't act carelessly to try and offend them.

Fortunately, as these humanoids manage to drive away from the monsters, they were keen to help the humans by teaching them their ways, and of course, this comes for a price and humans just had the right price to pay for it.

Humans had discovered that these humanoids came from another earth which was 5 times as big as this Earth and it's also connected to another earth which was as big as Jupiter and the only way to enter these two piles of the earth was by a specific portal.

They had found out that the humanoids still lived in the medieval era so their technological crafts were from the modern design. This was a great advantage for humanity as we were more knowledgeable than them.

Humans introduced the humanoids to technology which they gladly accepted as payment for their help.

The humanoids had created a tool that would help humans to awaken their powers but to do that, they had to be injected with Mana essence that could only be found inside the portals.

Fortunately, they had enough Mana essence to awaken chosen humans.

They would open the pores that move to the pathway to the mana vein which was the hidden circuits of veins in the human body. Just like the veins in our body, it circulates blood while Mana's veins circulate Mana.

This would then form a hidden heart called a Mana core which pumps and stores Mana. The Mana core formation was the founding tool for awakening and enough Mana to pump up the Mana core to form.

One could tell if they awakened as they were able to perceive the world differently. To become stronger they had to obtain monster cores and by obtaining these cores, they can absorb it by the practice of Mana transfusion or digestion which is the quickest way of absorption but drops the effectivity to 80%.

They would hear a voice in their head that would speak to notify them of their progress.

They call this voice, "The voice of God" as the voice perceives what the person wants to hear the most. If you loved your mom's voice, then the voice in your head would be of your mother.

Once the number reaches 100, you would be reawakened to the next rank which continues to another stage.

The humanoids couldn't stay long on the earth due to the lack of Mana that cover the world so they had to return to their world if they didn't want their body to be strained permanently.

As the monster outbreak continues, the earth would soon be covered with Mana, and with this, the humanoids would return and with their help, humanity came back to its feet and restart again.

10 years passed since then, more and more humans had been awakened. Their job was to hunt monsters and now this job had been classified by the government.

The portals had contained a terrain of sorts called dungeon where hunters gather to defeat the monster and boss of the dungeon as they excavate for Mana crystals found inside and monster cores and corpses.

From their brief encounter with the humanoids, they learned a lot and found out that monster corpses make good equipment. They also learned that monster cores could be used to enchant weapons depending on the type of monster the core was from.

By enchanting a weapon, it gains an attribute, one could increase its sharpness, firepower, durability, and many more.

Mana crystals were also a great source of energy as they were organic, more powerful, eco-friendly, long-lasting, and very efficient so humanity had converted from fossil fuels, petrol, and oil to Mana.

5 years passed, hunter associations and guilds were created, with the abusive powers of hunters, they made a law to control hunters.

Academy for hunters was also formed which guided newly awakened hunters and educated them before they could attend dungeon exploration.

10 years passed, with human innovation, scientists were finally able to make an artificial portal that would traverse them to the world of the humanoids.

This caused an uproar and the first few attempts didn't work well as some were captured as criminals and subjected to torture. Then as they regularly traverse, they were able to cooperate with the humanoids and pay their debts by giving them technological crafts which flipped the medieval civilization of the humanoid race slowly to the modern era.

10 more years passed and the transaction with humanoids and humans went smoothly as humanoids we're able to traverse to earth to do business with humans.

More humans we're also migrating to the humanoid's earth as it was very abundant with Mana and a lot safer than earth. The humanoids accepted the humans with open arms but some vile the idea so there was some civil war that went on.

Discrimination was also a daily occurrence and day to day, things go from better to worse.

20 years passed, and the other world was finally in the modern era. Although the earth was already at the start of the advanced era since dungeon appearance fluently occur more in Earth than the humanoids' many humans stayed out of Earth.

Cooperation with humanoids and humans finally turned to peace as both now see each other as fellow kinds. It doesn't change the fact that racism and discrimination still exist mostly on humanoids.

15 years passed, with the help of humanoids and humans, they were able to create a new artificial portal that traverses one to the world of monsters.

An earth that is as big as Jupiter where aggressive monsters slaughter the weak as a part of their life.

It was also a planet where Mana was very dense and abundant and Mana crystals and new minerals formed. It was earth filled with gold but due to the powerful monsters living on that earth, the humans and humanoids weren't so hasty to charge at them.

It had been 100 years since the start of the outbreak and the world had become perceivably different. Those that were left on Earth lived a dangerous life of luxury.

Since the earth was continuously swarmed by monsters, it was home for many hunters that population ratio was 9:1 meaning out of 10 people, 1 of them was a normal civilian and the 9 was hunters
