2 Chapter Two...A Name...

A bird that was almost half her arm-length was lying on those bushes and that was the first time she saw that kind of bird. Actually, this bird's breed is known as Black Baza but for Lakdem to find out is another story.

Lakdem was flabbergasted to see the mystery bird but soon recovered when she heard it give out a weak cry warning her to not come closer, she threw the stick aside and slowly walked forth as she saw that the bird was injured but stopped when it gave her another weak cry. " Shush, it's going to be okay, I'm just going to check your injury, okay? Look, I want to help you so stay still," Lakdem raised her hand and started walking forth and slowly moved her hand towards the bird before gently as she could, patting and brushing it's feathers and picking it.

She brought it closer to her and inspected the injuries on the bird; a broken foot and a badly scraped wing where blood was oozing out. The bird was mentally and physically tired so it let her touch her, mentally noting the medicines and the treatment for the injuries Lakdem walked to her cottage while the bird was in her arms, she didn't mind the blood but she was careful not to touch the wound.

Reaching home she put down the bird on her mattress before preparing for the treatment. She put the bird on the bundle of the soft and small towel before bandaging the mouth of the bird to prevent it from pecking her, then she began her treatment for the bird.

Lakdem was surprised at how the bird didn't bulge or neglected her but started coming more closer to her after the treatment which happened a week ago, smiling and petting the bird she decided to keep it as she and the bird became more closer than before and as a matter of fact, she didn't have any company. "Since I am keeping her, what name should I give her?" pondering for a while she finally thought for a name," Ghawa, this will be your name." Ghawa means happiness in Dzongkha, the national language of Bhutan and since she became more happy and lively after the bird was here she decided for that name. As if the bird could understand her she let out a happy cry and circled round Lakdem, accepting the name and gently landing on top of Lakdem's head while she giggled. Their days went by blissfully and with peace but it didn't last for long.

Lakdem was inside her cottage making lunch when she heard something being smashed to the ground she went to look at what it was but before she could move she was lying on the ground and was shot on her abdomen.
