2 Who are you?

"Can't you go faster?" Mai ask Agni.

"I can BUT it's about to be night and uh i'd rather save energy in case something happens."

"That's highly unlikely." Mai said in confidence. "But set up camp ahead then since you wanna sleep at night."

"I'm not like you who doesn't sleep ok. I need sleep to live." Agni complained.

"I do sleep, whenever i'm not needed I sleep."

"Ok then whatever you say." Agni then found a good spot in the forest to set up camp.

"Let's make some traps first to get food." Agni went to find sticks and rocks.

"And earlier you were complaining about not going on the road." Maid said to Agni.

"The road is faster, and we might meet other bandits and stea- I mean borrow their coins."

Mai was silent for a bit before saying, "We know the trees and grass more."

"Yeah yeah I know, I'll focus on food and shelter, you just shut up." Agni was tired from arguing with Mai.

"Good" Mai said before quieting.

Somewhere else in the forest.

Three figures were running through the foliage.

"Quick we must get away, hurry!" a voice yelled as he was about to cast a spell.

"No don't." another voice sounded out, "They'll be able to track your mana leakage."

"It doesn't matter, I'm prepared to die here, you two go ahead I'll try to stall them." All the figures stopped.

"What do you mean? You can't stop them yourself." one of the figures spoke.

"Elanor, trust me, I can do it, now RUN." The man spoke.

The lady the man was talking to froze, "Sal, I won't leave you behind."

The third figure was also worried. "Buddy, I know you want to be the hero but it will be no use, you know how strong they are, come let's go."

"Fine Alexander, next time, they catch up you guys run without me, I'll hold them off." Sal said resolutely.

Just then a voice interrupted them.

"Now now, are you three done running?"

A figure seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

Two others landed besides the figure.

"Damn" Sal cursed, if he hadn't stopped maybe they wouldn't of been caught.

"Looks like your out of options, now we can make this easy and you come here and let us kill you all, or... run like mice and have us chase you to exhaustion, hehe, your choice." The leading figure creepily said.

"Elanor, Alexander, run and i'll block them." Sal whispered to his companions.

Elanor and Alexander knew they had no options, they both sprinted at the same time.

-Wind, Guide me, Whirlwind shoes-

Alexander casted a spell and boosted his speed.

-Light, Cover me, Blinding star-

Elanor also casted a spell but this one blinded everyone looking at them.

Sal knew what to do.

-Earth, protect me, Giant's wall-

"Don't think you can run away that easy. After them, I'll handle this guy." The leading figure stepped forward.

-Darkness, Consume, Black spear-

A pitch black spear rose from the shadows. The figure took the spear and jumped over the wall. He was now facing Sal. "Earth Mage Sal, risking your life to save your friends, how commendable."

Sal faced with no escape faced this dark mage head on.

-Earth, Protect me, Gaia's armor-

"Hahahah, I get to see the late Earth Sage's -Gaia's Armor- how thrilling." The figure laughed as he dashed forward.

~

Elanor and Alexander were running together.

"Elanor, let me carry you." Alexander told Elanor.

"It's fine I can run by myself." Elanor said exhausted.

"You're wearing yourself out, it's not much for me to carry a woman like you." Alexander assured Elanor.

Thinking for a moment Elanor allowed for Alexander to carry her.

Voices soon was heard from behind them.

"I see them."

"Over there"

"Hurry before they escape."

Hearing the voices Alexander casted another spell.

-Wind, Pierce, Blades of Wind-

Four green blades flew out from Alexanders palm, destroying trees, and making dust fly everywhere.

"Damn the Wind Mage."

"Keep on them"

The voices were angry and as Alexander ran more he heard the voices getting more and more distant.

-Light, Heal, Remedy-

With a surprised look on his face Alexander looked down at Elanor who he was carrying.

"It's the least I can do." Elanor said before she fainted.

"Thank you" Alexander whispered.

"YUM, you can never not like the taste of food that you catch yourself, It's the best." Agni spoke to himself as he ate the roasted meat that was the catch of the day.

"I can't wait to try out city food, all I eat are soups and roasted meat, their still good though." Agni spoke with some excitement.

After finishing his meal, Agni added more wood to the fire to keep it going all night. Agni knew how much to put in thanks to James, he would throw Agni into the woods alone to survive when he felt like it, so Agni had plenty of experience setting up fires and sleeping in the woods.

"Alright I already set up the traps around camp, I ate, I made fire, let's see what else? Oh yeah sleeping spot." Agni went around the trees and picked up leaves and bark.

After a few minutes, Agni made himself a bed made of leaves and bark. "Not the best but it'll do." Agni then went to sleep on the bed.

~

Alexander was still running away carrying the unconscious Elanor in his arms. When he noticed something. "There's smoke ahead? That means fire, then maybe there could be people to help us. No Alexander don't be stupid, they'll just kill innocent people too."

As Alexander was lost in thought, he suddenly felt something was wrong, the wind was telling him to watch out, but it was too late. He stepped on a pile of leaves which was a cover for a hole. "Goddamn it, HOW?"

Alexander couldn't save himself and fell in to the hole. He controlled some air so he could avoid some damage, but he still hit the floor pretty hard. He made sure to turn so that Elanor wouldn't take damage from the fall. "Who the hell put this trap here." He cursed. Alexander then heard footstep coming from top of the hole. "I'm done for, sorry Elanor, because of me we're both dead."

Alexander heard a voice call out to him, "Who are you?" before he blacked out.

~

As Agni was sleeping, he kept moving, it seemed as if he was having a good dream.

Suddenly Agni's eyes opened. "Someone is near." Mai's voice sounded out from Agni's mouth.

Mai took control of Agni's body while he was sleeping. She went towards the noise in a quieter way than Agni would.

Mai noticed Alexander carrying Elanor. She didn't know whether they were a threat or not. "Mages." she whispered to herself. Using some kind of invisible thread she subtly controlled Alexander and lead him into one of Agni's traps meant for large animals.

Seeing how they fell into the trap Mai whispered, "Dumb mages, I guess." She then walked to the trap, looking at the tired Alexander, and the unconscious Elanor, Mai spoke, "Who are you?"
