1 Agni, that's my name

Agni... that's my name. Currently I'm stuck running for my life on what I thought would be a peaceful day.

My story starts a little weird, I wasn't your typical baby, you know having a mother and all that. No I was abandoned and left in the woods to rot. Fortunately for me, a hunter living in the woods found me and took me in, he was my life saver.

The hunters name was James, James Nether. I don't know much about him, other than he leaves around sunrise and comes back with milk and food then leaves around noon again and comes back around sunset. Rinse repeat all that. Apparently James like to huff and puff at night or something I don't really know. We sleep in different rooms and some nights I would hear him grunt and make noises, It's not my place to say anything maybe it's his ritual before going to bed.

You may be wondering how I remember these things if I was still a baby, well thing is I don't. Weird right? Sometimes I would hear this voice, the voice would tell me things, like when James is gone, or that there was some food for me, or James sleeping ritual.

Yes I know that having a voice in my head is weird James has told me before.

Moving on, when I was "of age" in James term, I would go out hunting with him. I really hated it, because at the time I was only 4, ONLY 4, like who does that to a child. But James said I was special, said that I could learn fast. He told me I knew how to eat without even needing to be taught, strange right.

Anyway yeah James was right I was a fast learner, I learned how to set up traps for animals, how to identify plants and how to avoid stronger beasts. Eventually at the age of 8 I could go out hunting for myself. James was very impressed. One day he told me he would take me to the nearby village.

That day I was nervous, James said I would met other people besides him. Well we got to the village and James bought me to this building, He said it was a special place for special people like me. When we went in It was full of people who were of all shapes and sizes, from tall to short, fat and skinny, there were even some sickly people there, oh and old people. Now that I think about it James is pretty old too.

Well continuing on, James brought me into a room and we met with a really old dude, like long white beard dude with wrinkles, but yeah they talked a lot mostly about each other blah blah blah, then they made me touch a ball, the ball was pretty, it was like a fine green color which made me feel bad when I touched it and it turned black.

After that both James and the old dude looked pretty upset, so I stopped and soon James took me home. He never talked about what happened that day, so I never thought about talking about it either. Well after that 2 more years went by and James decided to teach me magic. He said I needed it to live in this world, which I didn't get at the time because wasn't I living just fine without it? James disappeared for a week after that so it was mainly me by myself. James told me to go exercise so I did, as you can see from my "perfect" body. But when James came back he made me read lots of book about magic and the world, and how to be a proper person.

Now we come here to where we are at now. The world works in mysterious ways doesn't it? Ah who thought that sneaking out would land me here. I should've just stayed in the woods.

Agni complained, while the burly men who were listening were getting annoyed.

"Kid, shut up, we didn't want your whole story, we just wanted to know whether you were a cash bag or not."

"OHHHH" Agni seemed to realized what they meant when they said where you from.

The bandits were patient enough with Agni, it was probably because he was a kid.

"Nope none at all" Agni told them with a smile.

The bandits went crazy after that, they may have been patient but they were still bandits.

"I have this though" Agni suddenly opened his mouth and a fireball came flying at the bandits.

"Ah SH*T he knows magic." "No duh dumba**, He just told us." The bandits tried to dodge, but most of them were burned and their clothes was practically nonexistent after that. The remaining bandit took the others and ran, not forgetting to yell, "You damn sh*t head just wait!!!"

"HAHAHAH" Agni couldn't stop laughing. "Oh yo, look at them run like rabbits, hah, is that some moonlight(1) I see? HAhaha"

After laughing at them Agni went to look for loot on the ground. "Pshh only 50 silver and 79 copper? What kind of bandits are you, you should at least have a gold coin. Well this should last me a while."

Agni got some money for his travels now. "Onward to the village" Another voice rang in Agni's ear, "Doesn't everyone in that village know James?" a shocked expression appeared on Agni's face.

"You're right Mai, what would I do without you." Mai was what the voice in my head calls herself, she sounds more like a Jade or a Christina to me but it is what it is, she chose her name not me.

"Onward to the city that's closest to us." Agni then walked towards the village. "Wrong way" Mai's voice rang. "I knew that" Agni then changed direction.

"Run it takes a week to get there by foot." Mai told Agni.

"Do I have to? I want to enjoy the scenery." Agni complained to the voice in his head. Mai then questions him. "Why are we avoiding the village then?"

"Ok, ok, ok I get it yeah, to not get caught by James, I know, I know, fineee, I'll run." Agni started to run now, his running speed was pretty fast, it was as fast as a horse. He zoomed by a bunch of animals, and even without him knowing, the bandits too.

"Goddamn it that kid, we should be running too, why else would he run if something dangerous isn't following." The bandit leader then woke up the others and ran to their hide out.

Standing on a tree a person watched everything unfold.

James was laughing at the spectacular display Agni made of the bandits.

"Hahahah, he's truly grown up." James couldn't help but remember the times when Agni was a baby.

"Agni, that boy may be weird but aren't we all weird in a way." James talked to himself.

James knew about Agni talking to Mai, he just didn't know about Mai. He concluded that James just has an imaginary friend or something.

Yet when James thought about Agni sneaking out he got mad. "Damn kid." James then punched the tree, the branch he was standing on collapsed due to the force. "oh fu-"

(1) - People refer to a butt crack as a moon, so him seeing moonlight is from seeing their butts
