5 Tower

Arial is aimlessly looking at the view from the window of his carriage.

Aside from the coachman, he's accompanied by two Adventurers from the town that Henrik hired. Their journey would last for three days so he needed to be escorted since, with his young age, it is still considered to be dangerous to be traveling alone.

One of the adventurers is together with him inside the carriage. He's probably just in his twenties. He has a tanned body and short black that blocks his eyes… Arial even had the urge of asking whether he could actually see with that.

"Sir Arial… Is this your first time going out of Larem Town?" The man asked after realizing the weird atmosphere within the carriage.

He wanted to get a bit closer to the guy since they will be together for three days.

"Not really. I've been from a faraway land… By the way, is there a way to slow down our journey… Hmmm… How about extend it for a day or two?"

"Ugh… Well, that shouldn't be a problem. However, the payment that Henrik gave us is for three days."

"Don't worry… I'll just pay you an additional fee including our food and lodgings."

"I understand. Let me speak with my partner…"

The man then spoke with his colleague about this. It didn't take long before they both agreed since they will earn a lot more with this. They would even get plenty of rest in the process.

They've been to the capital before so they are very familiar with the path. They know some places they could stop by.

"But… is it alright to ask the reason, Sir Arial?"

The young man heard the question as he smiled for a bit.

"Well, I just want to see this world, I mean this place a bit more…" Arial replied leaving the man confused.

Apparently, Arial is aware that once he entered the Academy, it will take quite a while before he could get out again. So he decided to take his time and try to see what this world can offer.

They visited various towns and villages… Although it wasn't that long, he met various kinds of people and even some tamed magical beasts.

As for the wild ones, the path to the Capital City is normally safe since there are knights and adventurers taking care of them whenever they appear near the main road.

Then, five days had passed and Arial has finally reached the capital…

"Viridian Rose… For five years, huh… I guess it's not that bad compared to being experimented for a couple of years."

Arial wrily smiled as he approached the gate of the Academy. Though he would still feel like vomiting whenever he recalls was has been done to him as a test subject, the two years he spent living with Henrik helped him a lot.

'I can do this… I just have to protect someone and study peacefully…' Arial thought as he entered the gates of the large Academy.

The carriage he was in did not enter the gates of the city since they would have to pay a few silver coins for it and Henrik didn't give them enough to cover it.

In the end, he had to walk for about 2 more kilometers to arrive here which isn't that bad considering that he still managed to see the lively city with his own eyes.

As soon as he entered, he saw various young boys and girls accompanied by their servants. The start of the class would still be in the next three days so he was a bit curious why there's already a lot of people.

There shouldn't be a lot of late enrollees like him, right?

Nevertheless, he approached the man who looks like a security guard and asked for information.

He brought out the token that was given to him by Henrik to prove his identity.

"Hmm… This token is used to meet the Headmaster… Not for enrollment. You should go to that tall tower and show it to the man guarding its doors." The man answered Arial's question with a smile.

"Thank you, Sir… I will head there now." The young man replied as he walked straight to the tower.

The gray stone tower is quite huge so it's impossible to miss it. He ignored the young boys and girls staring at him since he wasn't wearing noble-like clothes.

Anyway, they would be given a uniform once he enrolled so his current clothes don't matter that much anyway.

Henrik only briefed him about a few things that he has to do within the Academy. However, that old man didn't inform him that the token was used to meet the Headmaster!

At the very least, the headmaster has a connection with his uncle, this would actually be better since there would be someone who would vouch for his identity.

"As for the Count's daughter… I only know her name. I wonder what she looks like…" Arial muttered as he arrived in front of the tower. It is still within the premises of the Academy but it feels like this tower is meant for something else other than education.

The guards in the building noticed his arrival but ignored his presence. They're probably thinking that he got lost here as they pointed where the admission is being held.

Arial could only wrily smile as he showed the token to the guards.

They looked at each other before allowing him to meet the Headmaster…

"Follow me, Esteemed Sir… The headmaster is currently in the library and if you don't mind, you can wait for a few minutes. He should be almost done in his business…"

"I understand… I'm not in hurry." Arial replied as he excitedly entered the Mystic Tower.
