1 The Failure

"He's dying! What are you doing?! Call Doctor Heim!"

A man wearing the clothes of a Medical Practitioner had noticed that the patient, or perhaps Experimental Subject No. 247, is convulsing on his bed.

The nurses were trying to hold him on his bed but this patient is special.

His treatment is completely different from other normal patients of this building. Currently, the man's orifices are bleeding and his skin color is turning purple.

"Someone already called for him! He's probably with Director Grim! What do we do?" One of the nurses replied. They are fully aware that only Doctor Heim can treat this person.

This young man on the bed was supposedly a perfect and successful subject of his experiment. However, it seems that the genius doctor was wrong!

'This is not good…'

The newly arrived medical practitioner observed the situation…

Currently, there are four nurses in this room. Three of them were trying to stabilize the convulsing young man while the last one is monitoring his vital signs.

On the other hand, he's a neurologist invited to this place to check the Experimental Subject's brain development.

Aside from that, he doesn't have any information about the young man aside from the rumors he heard from the other doctors.

Right now, he needs the medical records of this person to help. Unfortunately, only Dr. Heim has an access to them.

'Ugh… Just why are they celebrating so early when his experiment is still not stable!'

He's supposed to meet the doctor about an hour from now and he only decided to pass by at an earlier time to see the rumored perfect test subject.

Sigh~

He can only try to do his best to help the patient now that he's here.

"I'm Doctor Stale… Let me help."

The nurses know a bit about the patient they have. They know that the young man on the bed is Doctor Heim's precious experimental subject…

Their first thought was to decline his help… however, if they didn't do something, this man might die and they would have to take the blame.

The nurses looked at each other and had an idea.

'This patient is indeed dying. It's better if this doctor would take the blame for us…'

They all have the same thought. With this in mind, they let the popular neurologist help.

Doctor Stale started giving benzodiazepines to the patient in hopes to calm him down as they waited for Doctor Heim. However, it wasn't effective.

"How long is it now?" He asked the nurses.

"I-it's… over eight minutes..." One of them answered after checking the time. Though the bleeding had stopped, the man hasn't calmed down yet.

The convulsing patient on the bed is the only survivor of Dr. Heim's dangerous experiment… Right now, the doctor in question is definitely celebrating with the top brass of the Primordial Gene Research Institute.

They probably didn't think that the only Experimental Subject they thought to be successful would suddenly be in this condition after placing him in this special room.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The group heard running footsteps from the outside.

"How's the patient? Doctor Heim is already on his way… We need to stabilize his condition."

The nurse who called for the doctor returned with good news. They can only hope that the man would arrive in time…

However, it's already twelve minutes since the man starts convulsing!

Doctor Stale has already tried giving lorazepam and aside from that, he also gave buccal midazolam to the patient since the man's skin suddenly hardened like steel, and IV access is not possible.

After seeing no effects whatsoever, the doctor started giving phenytoin to the patient. They have no idea what's going on with him so he could only try and treat the man's seizure.

At this time, Doctor Heim finally arrived. He saw that the neurologist he called here is helping his patient. However, he doesn't have the time to greet him.

He immediately checked the young man's condition…

He can say that the doctor and nurses did their best to help his test subject. However, it seems that this subject is indeed dying…

'Ugh… This guy… Should I use it?'

Doctor Heim is hesitating… He brought a briefcase with him that is containing a special medicine that is worth an entire country. It is the gift given by Director Grim because of his "successful" experiment.

He wanted to use this for himself!

However, if this patient died, the director might change his mind and take this medicine back. His reputation would also fall terribly!

'No… Even if they fired me or even take everything from me, I can find another organization that would be interested in my experiment…' The doctor is having a dilemma.

He can let the young man die now and find another test subject.

'Tsk…'

However, he suddenly recalled how he would need to use tons of resources again just to find someone who can survive the Seventh Stage of his experimentation! It will not be easy!

This is the only person from his 10,000 subjects who managed to survive!

'Ugh! You're lucky! I can probably get this medicine again someday… Just survive for now!' Doctor Heim finally decided and opened his briefcase.

It contains a syringe with glowing red liquid inside…

Doctor Stale who saw it was curious about this medicine. It is something that he has never seen before.

Of course, the nurses were in the same boat as they silently watched the doctor take the syringe and inject it into the patient.

The steel-like skin of the man was nothing to the special syringe that the doctor has taken out…

Finally, after more than twenty minutes of convulsion, the patient has calmed down.

"Hmm?"

However, they saw the young man on the bed gasping for air… He's having a hard time breathing!

Doctor Heim was also confused… He thought that it was just a side effect of the medicine and tried to help the man by getting the apparatus to help him breathe.

Unfortunately, the young man breathes his last after a few more seconds.

Experimental Subject No. 247 died of a sudden heart attack… but it didn't end there.

The young man's body exploded and transformed into red particles as they slowly vanish into thin air.

'What in the world?!'

Everyone in the room can only watch with bulging eyes as they couldn't do anything about the sudden turn of events.
