7 Test

The room was surprisingly spacious.

'So, I will have a roommate, huh.' Arial thought after noticing two beds within the room.

He also realized that both beds do not have occupants yet so he can choose which bed he'll use.

After looking for a moment, he chose the one on the right since it has a window on it.

He can see what seems like a track field outside and the boundaries of the academy where a huge forest and mountains are located.

Arial doesn't know when they could change their rooms again so choosing the best condition now must be a good decision.

'So, I just have to wait here until the Headmaster finishes the enrollment? The classes should start in a couple of days if I'm not mistaken…'

The young man unpacked his things. He has a few clothes and a small dagger with him gifted by Henrik.

He knows that the Academy will provide a few uniforms and shoes for their students once they were accepted. So even though he doesn't have a lot to wear, it doesn't matter.

As he was unpacking, he then noticed his familiar clothes. He couldn't leave it in the town so he brought it here as it might be very useful for him.

It is a white straitjacket used to restrain him when he was still a test subject. It contains many means of restraint, including various straps and zippers. It even has a high collar capable of gagging the wearer.

He started wearing this suit after he has undergone the 4th stage of experimentation. That was the time when he received a complete body enhancement from the doctors of the laboratory.

After he completed the 7th stage where they did something to his brain… That was the only time he could somehow recall that the restraints were completely removed.

'This might be useful when protecting that girl…' Arial muttered as he secured the bag with the full-body suit under his bed.

He discovered that this item is quite special since even with Henrik's precious swords, the suit remained firm without any signs of it being cut.

It was quite mysterious considering that the swords in Henrik's house weren't just some weapons made of normal steel.

Anyway, Arial planned to walk around the Academy to get familiar with the place. However, he recalled the nobles' eyes looking at him in the hallway and the outside.

'Do I look that bad?'

He stood in front of the mirror and looked at his appearance. He does not consider himself ugly and likes to think that he has a decent face. Nevertheless, he has short black hair and violet eyes which is indeed quite unusual to this kingdom. Most of the people in town have brown or red hair.

On the other hand, he noticed that the people in the academy mostly have blond, silver, and blue hair.

This is completely different from his previous world where almost everyone has black hair. They might be curious about his hair but that shouldn't attract that much attention.

'Well, if not for my face… Is it about my clothes? Should I wait for the issued uniform before I walk around?' Arial mused as he looks at this new coat… It doesn't have some complicated embroidery unlike the ones worn by nobles but it has a high-quality fabric partnered with his black pants and shoes.

He thought that it was already quite decent.

As he was pondering whether to walk around the academy, he suddenly heard a knock on the door.

"Hello! I'm Kyle, I'm working as the dormitory's security… Sir Dorrian told me to give you the key to this room."

Kyle seems to be older than him. He is a head taller and he's wearing one of the Academy's uniforms.

It means that he's either working as part of the security here for academic points or a part-time job.

"Thank you, Kyle…"

"No worries… He also mentioned that after about an hour, you can visit the Core Testing Hall to confirm your affinity with the Mystic Arts. It's the last part of the enrollment process… But seeing that you already have a room, I guess that whatever the result is, you wouldn't be sent back."

"Is that so?"

"Yes! Haha… You might have some kind of backing… Please, take care of me."

"Eh? I don't think I have that kind of backing, senior. You might've misunderstood or something." Arial quickly explained.

"Haha! Don't I'm just teasing you. Anyway, the Core Testing Hall is beside the Auditorium… You can find it easily since it's at the back of the Mystic Tower."

The young man said as he left Arial after giving the message. The latter gave his thanks as he pocketed the key to this room.

'Core Testing, huh… I wonder if I'm really suited for the Mystic Arts.' Arial smiled wryly at the thought.

Henrik mentioned that he was suited to learn it. However, he didn't mention if there is some kind of rank with the Mystic Arts affinity.

Arial can only hope that he has a decent talent that would allow him to stay in this Academy. If not, he wouldn't know how to protect the Count's daughter and they might have to consider hiring another person for the job.

Though it is an option, he'd rather stay here in the Academy so he can learn how to use the Arts and benefit from the largest library in the kingdom to at least find the truth about his arrival here.

Arial then decided to take a rest in his room and waited for an hour to pass.

Soon, he found himself standing in front of the Core Testing Hall where three people are waiting for him.

They are the headmaster and two old men who seem to be part of the Academy's faculty.

'This… Aren't you guys too obvious?'

He can feel their penetrating gaze as he approaches them.

One of them seems to be hostile to him. One with an apathetic gaze while the last one seems to have a burningly curious gaze…
