His date?

I wanted to ask about what he said, but I did not because his stare was sharp. I looked at his still clenching jaw and still frowning face. His jaw was perfect in his side profile. I looked away when he noticed that I am staring at him for a long time.

I was stunned when I remembered what he said. What does he mean by his date? Also, why is he here? Is he staying at this palace? Does he know about what happened to me?

I was lost in my thoughts, and that stopped when Cadmus slowly went down on a terrace. He slowly put me down, but suddenly my knees weakened, and he immediately hugged my waist.

"Careful..." he said softly. "Are you okay?"

I nod even though my knees were trembling because of fear, and I can also feel my lips shaking. Cadmus is looking at me intently, checking if I'm telling the truth.

Cadmus shook his head and carried me again. I don't know why, but instead of not letting him, I feel safe when he lifts me in his arms again.
