Do you know what they say about life after death?...

Hey, I am Smriti, a 17-year old girl who lives with her parents in a home ,in Santragachi. My Dad works in the railway, he got transferred here a few months ago when we moved from Kanpur to this place, a beautiful place, with lot of space and trees on the looks of if it ,was a perfect place to live.

But as they say "Never judge a book by its cover"

So this story starts from a very special occasion of my birthday. Just like any other 17-year old, I was pretty excited about my birthday. So my mom wanted me to invite my few friends I made in the new school and she also wanted to invite a few neighbours. Thus I was sent to call my neighbours . After successfully fulfilling my work there ,I was at the last house which was exactly behind our home. I rang the bell, it was a very old house everything about that place was disgusting .I rang it twice nobody answered , then suddenly I heard an old lady screaming at me from behind " Eei meyta okhane theke sore aye pagol achis naki". Fuck the house!! I was scared of that women's voice and whatever she said.

It was 6 pm in the evening my mom made chole bhature ,one of her specialities . She had even arranged a cake, it was a birthday with no surprise at all. I was waiting for my friends to arrive in. There was a boy named Satvik,he was in my class, super cute !!! He was the reason I was surviving this new school. So they all were here,Swati my close friend with whom I shared my seat in school, Preeti a friend but I hated her coz she was behind Satvik like a bitch.

It was time we had our cake cutting ritual, playing Holi in the the month of December with colours you want to eat the faces off. I surely wanted satvik to eat it off my face. It was past 9 pm,the time was to have dinner. All of us were craving for the chole bhature. We were all ready on the dining table with our plates meanwhile my mom served us the food, there we were ready to take the first bite. And a loud sound came khaaaaaaaattttttttt...

It was all dark at first, we thought the electricity went out but out of the window, we saw our neighbours having light. It was a pretty wired situation. We were thinking about what to do ,my mom said something could be wrong with the main switch which weirdly was in the backside of our house. Dad was not home yet ,any one of us had to go there . Guess who turned up? Satvik!! yeaaah, as usual, the manhood of an 18 yr old boy made him think he should be brave and do something in front of three girls.
