1 Chapter 1: Late Night Talks

I.. I should just confess right? No, I can't do it. It's impossible! I'm nothing compared to him, dating him would be impossible!

"Oh come on Aidrei, it wouldn't hurt to try!" My friend Samantha told me as I felt shivers down my spine.

"No Sammie, you don't understand. I mean Jackson Tristan Kings, the literal idol of everyone in school? Will date me? What kind of nonsense are you talking about?!"

I yelled frustratedly which shocked her since I don't usually yell.

"If I confess then he turns me down the whole school will laugh at me and humiliate me! Look what happened to Patricia Owens, she was turned down by Ian Simons and everyone literally laughed at her, for a WHOLE YEAR!"

She laughed. "I mean, she was stupid for doing that." I glared at her.

"If she was stupid, I would be even more stupid if I confessed to that guy that I've liked him since middle school!" I rolled my eyes and lay down on my bed.

"Come on girl, I mean you only liked him because of.. Ash."

That name.. I hate it.

"Don't speak about him Sam, you know what he did." Samantha frowned as I heard her sigh. "You know he probably has reasons to why he did that."

I scoffed. "Its been almost fifteen years since that incident, shouldn't we all move on?" I said irritated. "We all know that you never moved on."

I glared at her as she just laughed at me. "Sam, we all know that you still like Chris." Now it was her turn to glare at me. "Lets not talk about Chris, I hate that guy."

I laughed. "And that's why you should shut up about our horrible pasts you idiot." She just sighed and hugged her favorite pillow which was from her Dad who passed away five years ago.

"I miss Dad, he was the only one who knew about Chris and what he did to me." I nodded slowly and then heard a knock on my door.

Fudge, it must be mom.

I turn off my phone and put it under my pillow. I then lay down on my bed and pretend I'm asleep. I heard the door open as I saw my mom's shadow.

".. If she's asleep, who was yelling?.. Hm, probably the neighbors fighting again." I heard the door close as I took a close peek.

"Got you little miss sneaky!" I suddenly see my mom's face and her sudden voice shocked me. "Mom!"

She laughed as she turned on the lights. "And why aren't you sleeping young brat?" I frowned as I turned on my phone with Samantha laughing her mouth off.

"I had a hunch that you were hiding at late nights these days, so I decided to trick you!" I just rolled my eyes playfully at her.

"Samantha Kleister! Why are you her partner in crime in this?!" She said as she looked at my phone.

"Sorry Mrs. Han! We just have fun talking that sometimes we forget the time!" My mom laughed as she's not really that strict as long as it doesn't affect anything.

"Girls, you have school tomorrow. Get those phones off and go to bed okay? Good night Samantha." Sam waved goodbye as I ended our five hour call.

My mom suddenly turned to me and said in a strict tone. "You're lucky this doesn't affect anything." I smiled sweetly as she said good night to me and left.

I sighed as I turned off my lamp and slept.
