Chapter 5

Looking at the crimson box first, Fares found out that it was just a normal-looking giant box that if it wasn't for the hieroglyphic writings and the glistening hue coming from it. It would have been mistaken for a normal perfectly made box with no holes or openings seen anywhere.

Even though Fares knew it wouldn't break no matter what, he still grabbed a hammer and a thin edge screwdriver, placed the screwdriver at one side randomly, and kept on hammering its end roughly.

As expected though, there was no change on the box not even a scratch after a few minutes of hammering.

Panting slightly, Fares grabbed his hieroglyphic textbooks and tried reading the hieroglyphic writings on them.

''Thou that has blood and energy of the olden ones can open their legacy and change their future!"

After translating it, Fares got even more excited.

'So it needs my blood ?' Fares thought as he ran into the kitchen grabbed a kitchen knife and returned.

He made a small cut on his index finger and pointed it over the box to drip the blood on it.

After a while, still, nothing had changed. 'What is it I am missing? Well, it said it needs energy too, but what kind of energy?'

Thinking a little, he went into the garage got his brother's transmitter, then into the kitchen grabbing a few candles and matches.

Returning to his room, he placed the things on the ground beside the box and sat beside it.

Grabbing the candles, he placed them in a circle tightly surrounding the box and lighted them all.

Heating it for a couple of minutes Fares still noticed no change, neither to the box nor the drop of blood on it.

Lifting one of the candles above the box, he dropped some hot wax on it, but to his astonishment, it just slid off the box as if it was moving on its own.

Dropping a few other things in addition to some more wax, everything slid off in the same way.

'Then why didn't my blood slide off as well? Does that mean it is the correct method, but it's missing something? This just keeps on getting interesting.'

Putting out the fires of the candles, Fares grabbed the transmitter, strapped one end to the box, and plugged the other into the electrical socket.

Again there was no change, what was even weirder is that nothing was happening if the electricity won't even come near it.

Removing the surrounding wires, Fares used his measurement equipment on the wire, and as he had thought it is working fine.

After a few more trials with different objects, the box didn't change, frustrated Fares set the box aside for now and looked at the necklace instead.

'Hmm, as I thought it is still warm. So it emits heat?' Thinking of a weird idea, he placed the necklace over the box.

The necklace as well as the box both shone brighter for a few seconds then returned to normal.

'Does that mean they are connected somehow?' Fares jumped to his feet excitedly.

'But what else can I do?' he thought before returning to experimentation.

After a full night of experimenting with no fruition, Fares was too tired that he even fell asleep on the ground with the necklace in hand.

As he was sleeping the necklace glowed bright, with an inverted vortex forming on the surface, though it didn't have any effect on the surroundings.

Opening his eyes, Fares became stunned to find himself standing naked in his room, looking around to find clothes to wear he was even more stunned to find himself on the ground the very same way he fell asleep.

Raising his hands to his face and pinching himself hard, he felt pain even his body on the ground flinched slightly before returning to normal again.

'It is not a dream? Then what the hell happened? How do I get back to my body?'

He tried touching his body, but his hands just went through, so he tried touching a few other stuff, but that's all that happened until he touched the box, he could touch and hold it. He tried the necklace next.

As soon as his hands touched the necklace, he felt as if he was sucked into a raging tornado.

After a few moments of swirling around, Fares felt that he was about to puke his guts out, but he couldn't even feel his guts as his mind went into darkness.

After a while, his sister entered the room with a bucket of cold water.

"Stupid brother, playing tricks on me while I am sleeping, let's see who gets to have the last laugh," Layla said smiling mischievously.

Her eyes fell on her brother's body lying on the ground, she raised the bucket and dropped the cold water in it onto Fares' face.

To her surprise though, he didn't wake up nor move a muscle.

"Brother?" Layla said as she knelt beside her brother with eyes tearing up.

"Brother, wake up. If this is a joke, just stop it, it's not funny anymore." she cried loudly with a snot-filled face as she shook him hard, thinking she drowned her brother to death.

Putting her ears on his chest, Layla listened to his heartbeat as strong as ever.

"Stupid brother, wake up already." she shook him for a while more, before getting up and looking for help.

"Mom! Fares are not waking up at all, I even splashed him with cold water, but he didn't move a muscle." Layla screamed at her mother as she entered the kitchen because Samira was the only one up right now.

Frowning deeply, Samira turned off the stove and rushed upstairs to check on Fares.

After trying for a few moments with no change, grabbed her phone and dialed the ambulance.

Meanwhile, Fares opened his eyes but all he saw was darkness.

'Where am I?' he thought rubbing his eyes to make sure they're okay, but that didn't change the fact that he was surrounded by total darkness.

Moving his hands randomly around, a few tightly packed identical round objects appeared in his vision.

He was standing in front of one of them. Taking a closer look he found out that he knew what that was. It has all the things he was used to watching in photos on the internet and his physics class.

He was looking at the cosmos looking exactly how it was in photos. He looked around at the other spheres trying to identify them.

While some had galaxies that looked like the Andromeda or the Milky Way or the other galaxies he knew, others didn't have identifying factors for him to know.

'Does that mean that these are the parallel worlds? If so then where the hell am I? I never knew what could be present outside the cosmos.' thought Fares looking around.

'Wait, how am I even alive in a place like this?' He said looking down at his body, only to find that it was still his naked body, but to his surprise, he felt and looked hollow as if he wasn't a physical object.

He tried touching his face but this time his hands went through.

'Wow, that's a pretty weird feeling.' he thought as he kept touching his face trying to feel it. Only then did he realize his biggest problem, how the hell am I going to get out of here.

ROAR~

As soon as he thought about that he heard a loud terrifying soul-shaking roar coming from behind him. He felt his body go numb.

Panicking, he turned around looking at the source, he could see the space itself is bending around a dark gigantic black figure heading his way.

Fares was not sure if the creature could even touch him, but by looking at how space bends around it, he didn't want to take the risks.

He turned around again searching for the sphere that looked like his cosmos, he ran towards it and dived right into its hands first.
