REWINDING ONE MONTH

After Duke Kinsley went away and all the drama ended, Alexandria also felt tired, though she was neither sad, nor elated. She just didn't want to think about Senmira. She was only very much confused. "Can someone tell me what happened just now, I mean how did it happen? I am totally confused! " Alexandria narrowed her eyes towards Roman. "I want an explanation...right now. You! Come to the library as soon as possible after cleaning up this mess here!"

"I will tell you briefly. I came to know about Duke's lackey Xander who was one of my senior guards, my shadow guards had seen him meeting some suspicious person, who in turn turned out to be Duke's person. All the guards who were on duty were spied upon by my shadows.

After many sources and consulting with so many people, I came to know that two weeks before the feast, Duke Kinsley sent his servant to the Imperial Infirmary to get the ingredients of the aphrodisiac which he asked someone to prepare within his home. Since he asked for some ingredients only, so no one grew suspicious. With the help of Xander, he sent Senmira to our mansion, and the rest you know!

I never went into Senmira's room in this one month. She put down her guard after becoming my concubine. Daily my shadows used to drug Xander and Senmira with a hallucination producing drug and aphrodisiac. And she used to do the deed with Xander, thinking it is me. Today when water was thrown upon them, their hallucination broke.

To produce some extra effects, this particular time, I ordered to drug the maid, Andrea as well and put her on the bed with them. Then I sent the fake news to Duke's house and if his daughter is involved, he wouldn't think twice, he came straightaway here. Because of the scene that he encountered, Duke couldn't argue and I could easily divorce Senmira! So...how was my plan, brilliant, right???" Roman was grinning like a child.

"Yeah, it was average. I am tired, I am going to sleep!" Alexandria rolled her eyes at Roman but before moving out of the library, she also grinned at Roman! Roman felt like he was on cloud nine and didn't pressure Alexandria into talking with him.

Everything was going peacefully, six months had already passed, there were no conspiracies, no tough missions, nothing. Roman didn't have to go to borders or anywhere far. He invested this time in wooing Alexandria. There was a progress and Alexandria completely opened up to Roman, though she never missed a chance to taunt Roman for his carelessness during Senmira's situation.

The people in the capital talked about the unfortunate death of Senmira. Duke Kinsley took a leave from the Helian Empire and went to live with one of his sons in the Sleyrian Empire. There was no problem in William's life as well. All in all it was very tranquil.

But they didn't know that a storm was brewing inside Lilian's mind. Her friend Senmira had died, or so, they do say. She had a feeling that maybe Senmira didn't die. But her sources were not as much capable as that of Roman's or Duke Kinsley's. She didn't want to sit still.

She didn't have a luxurious lifestyle before marriage. Her time was spent in protecting herself from the schemes of her father's wives and children. Survival without the support of her mother was tough, but she still managed. She had always thought of flying high by marrying someone of very high birth who would treat her like a queen. But the problem lied here.

William didn't have low-birth, he was the son of the previous General and that too from the main wife. Her life after marrying William was luxurious. There was no concubine, moreover he promoted her to the level of the main wife.

But very few people knew how to control their wishes, emotions and fantasies. Lilian was content with her life but she still felt something was missing. Wherever she used to go, Roman was praised like a God be it for his bravery, valor, well-built structure, or nature.

So, there was always a comparison going on inside her mind between her husband and her brother in law. When she heard that Roman married a country girl, she thought that maybe she would have the chance to rise and shine. During social gatherings, she would have the chance to leave Alexandria behind in factors like gracefulness, grooming ,talents ,elegance and beauty. But who thought that Alexandria would be above her and even Senmira in most of these aspects.

Thus the comparison in her mind started rising and an empty mind is a devil's workshop. After Senmira's unfortunate end, she couldn't do nothing anymore. If she couldn't marry Roman, then she wouldn't let Roman and Alexandria live peacefully. They were playing with her peace of mind, so she would also do the same. She would try her best to make their life unhappy...
