20 The Lecture

Finishing up on the minor adjustments for the ship, all Chen Hua had left to do was make and install the offensive features and the main shield generators.

Choosing to stop there, he returned to the shop, washed up, and teleported back to the sect.

Entering the lecture hall there already a few disciples sparsely seated about.

「There is no need to focus on the specifics but all I will say is that there will be enough to last hundreds of thousands of years even if we were to use thousands of tons a day.

The 1000 year crystal iron. has many strange properties, from absorbing any physical impacts and being able to absorb heat. When building the sect, I have already taken that I to consideration as well and made the main paths out of the stuff.

Hearing this question, murmurs broke out amongst the crowd once more, some of the elders were even stroking their beards pondering over the question.

「Could it be... That the main paths are one large formation using the absorbed energy from when people walk Lon it to power something?」One of the peak masters who was also an array master suddenly thought of something absurd for a 7-year-old child.

「Exactly! That array is used to transform the energy absorbed from people walking and heat into spiritual energy which is then sent to enrich the environment here in the sect, it is like one huge spirit gathering array, just, rather than attracting the spiritual energy, it infuses it into the lake and peaks slowly transforming this into a heavenly place for cultivation.」

Upon saying this, many of the disciples were shocked as something like this was never thought to be possible.

People thought that such a thing would be impossible because of the vast amount of recourses that would be needed. A lack of funds and resources was not the only problem either, the main problem was that there was no record of such a thing in the records of any of the major sect's!

「This grand array was only made possible due to the 1000 year iron's unique properties. Unlike most metals, if you hit this with a hammer, it won't budge an inch, in fact, if it can't absorb all of the force you exert onto it then It will explode.

The proper way to shape this is to coat your hand in spiritual energy and gently mould it into the form you want as if it were clay.」

The rest of the crowd picked up their small hunk of iron and attempted the stated method... It worked! The metal turned as soft as clay... Butthat s not right... 「Won't it be useless if we can't inject our spiritual energy into it during a fight?」

「That's what I'm getting to next, with this iron you can form it into any shape you want easily without using heat, it's just that spiritual energy will always make it malleable, so, we must fix this by adding arrays to it.

You can add in any arrays you want, but, there are 2 crucial things that must be completed before it is considered a final product.

The first thing is that any energy absorbed must be converted by an array so that it finds an outlet ski that it doesn't explode. The second thing is that the last thing you do should to put the finishing array on it.

The finishing array is the diagram in the paper next to you. If you were to carve it into the iron then the array will absorb and or contain the spiritual energy so that the iron remains unaffected.

I'm sure that the reason is obvious, but, I will say it anyways, the reason that the finishing array should be last is that it is far easier to carve formations into the metal when you can turn it soft, If you choose to do the finishing array first, it will be far harder carve the arrays as the metal would absorb the energy you used to try and carve it.

Not to mention the strengthening arrays resisting your carving.」

「So, how do you use the energy the iron absorbed?」

「It's quite simple actually, all you have to do is use arrays to transform the energy into something more useful, take for example this thing I just made, This is meant to be placed on your shoe so that when you walk the metal will absorb the energy from the impact. That energy is then stored so that it could then later be used in the second function of these, which is a speed-boosting array.」

「I saw the shield generators at the top of each of the peaks, do the cauldrons absorb the heat from the generators?」

「Exactly, because the generators can produce an excessive amount of heat the cauldrons absorb that heat. You can either use the heat to refine pills or once enough is stored up you can put a special projectile into the cauldron which will the fire out along with the massive heatwave.

The soon-to-be warship out in front is also using the same principle of taking the heat from the 5 levitation engines and 5 shield engines then transforming that into something that can be used by the sub weaponry and other things. The main weaponry will have their own generators or engines to run off of.」

「This iron... will explode if it absorbs too much energy If you were to supercharge it just before it explodes then throw it out, how much strength will the explosion have?」

「The lone explosive strength of the iron is quite low, for a small piece the explosion force will be around the full strength of those at the 9th level of the body refining realm. If you add a few things to it along with some arrays, you can drastically improve the explosive force. If we take them and drop them from the bottom of a warship we can carpet bomb he ground and completely annihilate beast tides in the future.」

「If we were to make a large wall out of the iron, would it be able to absorb attacks, like energy attacks?」

「Yes, If we were to make a city wall out of this and carve arrays into it we could easily make it so that any attacks launched at it would help power the defenced placed atop it.

For now, anyway, the 1000 year crystal iron is also great for making lockboxes. If you don't yet have a spatial artefact and want to keep your valuables safe then I would recommend making a lockbox, today, before I end the lecture, I will be teaching you exactly that. The papers beneath your seat entail the arrays required to make the basic version.

The first step you want to take is to take the Iron and form a box, you should make it so that the lid can be completely removed from the box. Next, you need to carve the first array onto each side and the cover. That is an array I have made that will both strengthen the box and form a shield through whatever surface the array is placed on, so you want to carve the arrays on the inside of the box...

Next, we create indents in the centre of each of the sides of the box on the outside, they should also be in the centre of the reinforcement array inscribed on the other side. including in either side of the cover. Next, there are 8 crystals found with the papers. Take the 6 dull ones and place them so that they are flush with the side of the box, these will act as the place that any of the absorbed energy gets stored.

When you are done with that, there are 2 brighter stones. There is an array method mentioned in the papers and that array method is used to create a key. The key is the hardest part, before inserting the keystone into the inside cover, you must first use the array method to inscribe the first stone with your password.

The array method creates a matrix of spiritual energy within the crystal inhibiting it from passing through, the fourth array entailed in the papers is an array that will stick 2 objects together until spiritual energy is provided to disable it. This will be inscribed on the inside of the box and cover while the keystone will be attached to it. When the spiritual energy in the keystone is untangled by the counterpart (the key) spiritual energy will be able to pass through disabling the array. closing it off.

To inscribe the crystals you must first establish several nodes because the crystals are made with multiple layers, it will be much more secure to inscribe the arrays on all of the layers rather than on just the outer layer. In order to access those layers, the temporary node array mentioned will allow your spiritual energy to pass through one layer and onto the next, when you have finished using the array method mentioned on the previous pages then you should remove the nodes and then make the counter array on the other piece of crystal.

When the node arrays are removed it will not interrupt the spiritual energy connections because it is all placed on the same crystal which has all of the layers connected, but, it will make it so that no one can access and decode your keystone without laying down more node arrays, which, brings us to our next step.

The next step is to engrave the Encryption array on the surface of the keystone, this is the second array method mentioned in the notes. This is also variable and is used to disrupt any incoming spiritual force preventing nodes from being established on the crystal.

Once you have completed that and have finished the keystone, you must now create the key. In the notes it mentions a bunch of techniques that can be used, you can follow those if you want to, but in my experience, the easiest way to do this is to recreate the array you made on the keystone, reverse it so that it is 'backwards' then invert it so that the gaps in the first are filled with the lines in the second array. You also have to use the same method of recreating the encryption array on the key.

When you are done with that, all you have to do is insert the keystone onto the indentation on the inside of the cover, inscribe the Grade 1 finishing array which is the last array in the notebook, and you're done. If you close the box it will not be able to be opened until you use the key by placing it over the centre of the lid.」

「Young Sect Master, you mentioned that this was the Grade 1 finishing array, are there higher grades to it?」

「Yes, There are higher grades to the finishing array as well as different versions each designed for different purposes. The finishing arrays all follow the same principle, to finish a product so that the 1000 yeat iron can no longer be modified easily. The higher the grade of the finishing array, the more powerful its effects. Although you could use the individual arrays instead of the one single finishing array, it is much more complex. The main functions of this finishing array are to absorb spiritual energy, physical impacts, and heat and to transfer the energy absorbed by the crystal iron into the provided storage crystals.」
