2 Ch 2: The First Transaction

After a blue light flashed, Ryan appeared on the street of a small town with his schoolbag on his back. There were no people on the street nor were there any zombies as he imagined.

Ryan looked around the town curiously, and all kinds of debris were placed on the road as barricades. In the middle of the town, at the end of the road, you can clearly see a house with a yard, and there seem to be some people moving inside.

After checking with the system, Ryan soon knew that this house was his destination. Since this is the case, Ryan took a deep breath, took out the engineer shovel from his bag, and walked towards the house.

There are many roadblocks on the road, but it is obvious that they are aimed at the zombies who are always going to go straight. As an 11-year-old child, Ryan can easily pass through the gaps in the roadblocks and keep advancing towards the houses in the center of the town.

Near and even on the roadblock, there are many zombies with their heads separated. It seems that a fight has erupted here before. Fortunately, there were not many beheaded zombies piled up together, thus did not block the way. It only took a moment for Ryan to bypass them.

Just about ten meters away from the destination, Ryan found that the gap between the two barricades of the last obstacle in front was blocked by a fallen zombie, and other places seemed to be a long way around.

Ryan was just about to move forward to move the zombie and suddenly found that although the zombie only had the top half of his body, his head was still there.

In the game, the zombies are only eliminated if their heads are decapitated. Thinking of this cold shiver went past on Ryan's back. Fortunately, he was cautious and did not rashly move forward. This half-zombie may not be able to move because of the absence of its lower half, so it stayed here. If you rush to move past it, maybe your brain will be turned into a zombie breakfast.

Now that something went wrong, Ryan had to be deal with it. Fortunately, he had everything he needed in his schoolbag. He poured out the oil from the windproof lighter and applied it to the bandage, and then found a long wooden stick with a forked front to wrap the bandage around. After igniting it. Finally, he directly poked the torch into the zombie's head.

Sure enough, the zombie was seriously injured, but ready to attack. The moment the torch was poked, the zombie began to grab it with his arms, it tried to move and attack the person who injured him with the torch.

However, after Ryan inserted a long forked wooden stick into his head, he inserted the other end obliquely on the ground to form a solid triangle. It was obvious that this half-zombie without legs had no ability to get rid of the flame on his head and hurt Ryan.

As time flies by, the flames gradually become smaller, and the swinging of the zombie's arms became smaller and smaller as well. Finally, the flame disappeared and the zombies stopped moving.

Ryan stabbed the zombie's head with a stick, the half-burnt head suddenly fell, and then the zombie's whole body turned into black ashes. Ryan was startled by this situation and later remembered that the zombies burned in the game would be turned into ashes.

This should be regarded as the first monster killed by him, Ryan thought, unfortunately, the system is not an essence absorption-type system, and the zombies left nothing but a pile of ash.

After passing through this roadblock, Ryan finally stood in front of his destination's door. He raised his hand and pressed the doorbell. He heard the sound of clanging in the house as if a person stumbled and knocked down a lot of things.

The door opened, and a middle-aged man with a wok on his head stood in the doorway with a baseball bat in his hand.

"When did the zombies learn to ring the doorbell? Where are the zombies? show yourself."

"Sir, I am a human being, and you need to look down."

The man looked down at Ryan. Ryan also found that the man's eyes were of different sizes, revealing maybe some sort of mental abnormality. This should be the plant breeding scientist in the game, Crazy Dave.

"Come in quickly, boy, the zombies have been hiding in the dark and plotting to eat our brains." Dave reached out and pulled Ryan into the house quickly, then closed the door.

"I should have thought that it was human. After all, if zombies were knocking on my door, my precious plants would not be unresponsive."

"Right." Dave led Ryan to sit down in the living room and began to ask: "The outside situation is not suitable for a child to travel alone. Why did you show up at my doorstep?"

Ryan was a little uncomfortable with this straight-and-go style. After thinking about it, he decided to tell the truth: "I am a store owner, And I heard that you have some magical plants here, so I came here to trade with you."

"Although the reason sounds unreasonable, but Dave's plants tell Dave that you are telling the truth." Dave, who was sitting on the sofa, replied while soiling a sunflower in a flowerpot.

  "However, my t

plants are incredibly expensive. What do you plan to give me in exchange for my plants?"

Ryan reached into his school bag and took out the tacos and hot sauce.

"I think these foods of mine may be what you need, because I think it is difficult for people to get some industrially processed foods in such a bad situation. Also, I may go to many places and see many people in the future."

"Maybe we can find some plants that have never existed in this world, and we can help each other in the future. "

Dave quickly grabbed the tacos and hot sauce. "Oh my God, tacos, hot sauce, I haven't had it in a long time, since damn zombies surrounded the town. Unfortunately, these do not fully meet my requirements, but it is better than mashed peas and potatoes."

"Okay, kid" Dave put down his belongings and looked at Ryan. "I admit that your goods make me a little tempted, but you can only exchange three basic plants for these things. This is because you are the first person to come in such a long time and your offer for future cooperation. Otherwise, I would've only given you one plant."

"Then thank you, Uncle Dave." Ryan looked at Dave's list of plants and said, "I'm done selecting. Please give me sunflowers, peashooters, and sun-shrooms."

After listening to Ryan's request, Dave took out three bags and a key, to give them to Ryan, and said, "Ah, you are a smart kid. You know that no matter how big a garden is, you should always start with the most basic plants. This is the key to the neighbor's house. He didn't listen to my advice and was eaten by the zombies."

As soon as Ryan took these things, the voice of the system rang out in his mind.

  Ding Dong——

Host, you have completed the first task——

Obtained a micro-planting base (neighbor's yard), which can provide up to ten each of three plants every week——

Connected to the World of Plants vs. Zombies free of charge. The shuttle point in this world has been fixed. Dave's neighbor's house——

You can now return anytime you wish----

Ryan said good-bye to Dave, and walked out from the back door of Dave's yard to the yard next door, and then chose to return home.

Dave saw Ryan disappear after a flash of blue light from the crack in the door, and said, "Maybe, he is the key to ending the war with zombies. That's it. Okay, it's time for Dave to prepare lunch. I have fresh tacos today, which is great."
