3 MYLAH

Kwanza is a good man also-but for his indisciplined demon. He could have been the best man that had come into my life, but, he ended up as the perfect opposite of a good man.

Is Kidi still serious about the relationship between the two of you? I hope he is doing well also. But, sister, don't let any man break your self esteem because of his unfaithfulness. I don't want you to be broken-hearted like me. Be strong, sister. Kwanza is doing fine, but irresponsibly fine. He has refused to be accountable for his life. Sometime ago, I narrated my plights to one of my customers who lives three streets away from ours; I didn't ask him to get me a job, rather I told him to give Kwanza one of his tricycles so that he could work for him. He was really helpful, he willingly accepted my request and instructed me to tell Kwanza to start work with him the next day. I was excited, and I couldn't wait to break the splendid news to him. Just as I turned to exit Loco's apartment, I felt a wet palm around my right arm-it was Loco's. I put up a false blush so that he wouldn't identify that fear was taking over my flesh. 'Loco, I am really grateful for your offer, it proves that you're a faithful friend to my husband. You see ... you. You. Are... your friend will be happy when he hears of this great offer.' I stuttered and smiled helplessly.

'Ah. No. No. You don't need to thank me, Bilbai. You don't need it at all. Let me tell you about things that will surprise you. Bilbai, since you came into this town, I have been supporting all your activities. I told Tatu to give you the money which you used to pay Mylah's first tuition fees. Yes. I have been the brain behind Tatu's kind gesture towards you and your daughter. I didn't want it to be as though I was taking up the responsibilities of your rightful husband-that is if ... he is actually your rightful husband.' he looked away from me and attempted to swallow his words. But an egg once smashed can't be assembled again, the same thing applies to our spoken words about people and things. I stared at him for countless seconds before I pulled my arm away from his grip.

'Tha... thank you, Loco. Thank you for the insults.' I left him staring at my behind as I walked out on him.
