Chapter 21: Life Stories 1

Brian and Marcus slammed open her door and looked at the mess. Prue was on her knees on the floor. The window was broken and glass was everywhere. Prue looked clam, so did Brian when he opened the door. Marcus was shocked and confused as he and Brian entered the room.

"Again?" Brian said in an irritated voice.

Prue looked at him awkwardly and nodded. She also blushed as she noticed Marcus was there too. Brian walked out of the room and grabbed a small broom and dustpan. He then began to sweep the glass on the floor.

"What happened?" Marcus asked confused.

"Just another stalker. It happens all the time, don't worry. " Brian said calmly.

Marcus was shocked at his response. Both of them were so calm. This could be a life-threatening situation and they are taking it lightly?! The fact that neither of them cared really ticked off Marcus. The room was silent. Prue and Brian were calm and Marcus was holding back rage.

"So, Marcus. Is there anywhere you want to work?" Brian asked breaking the silence.

Marcus looked up awkwardly and smirked.

"Well, my father wants me to take over his business, but I want to live a simpler life. I think I want to work at a small cafe or something like that." Marcus said smiling down at his food.

Preu was surprised at his response. She began to blush a little as she swished her head the other way. Marcus smiled as he saw her embarrassing moment to look over to him.

"We don't know much about each other, what's your life story?" Brian suddenly asked.

Prue and Marcus looked at Brian as if he had just committed a crime. Brian looked at their faces and felt slightly uneasy. True, this was a very personal question, but Marcus felt ok with telling them his personal life.

"My father works of Zuki, the national children's hospital association in the US. He tends to care about his business more than me. He never pays attention to me and moves away all the time. Right now he is in Washington but will come back for me soon. I'm always moving around due to trips he has to take. He's out of the country right now and is only just trusting me to stay in this country alone. My mother abandoned me and my father when I was around 6 years old. I still care about her, but clearly, she didn't feel the same way about me. I don't have many friends, I prefer to be alone. That's it." Marcus said with his head down.

Prue and Brian were silent and feeling a little guilty. That question seemed a bit too personal. Brian began to feel extremely guilty because of how sad his response was. Prue felt bad all of a sudden, she almost felt like hugging him to make him feel better. Then her face turned red. Even the thought of hugging him made her blush.

"I'm sorry for asking," Brian said awkwardly.

"It's ok. It feels good to have someone to talk to about it. " Marcus replied calmly.

Prue saw the look on Marcus's face, he almost looked… happy? Prue was confused to why he was smiling. His past seemed a little brutal so why would he be?

"How about you? What is your life story?" Marcus asked Brian calmly.
