Chapter 20: Home Sweet Home

Marcus and Prue then scooted as far away from each other as possible. Their heart started to skip beats and they're smiled grew wider. Brian felt slightly accomplished yet a little guilty. He knew that he embarrassed his dear sister, not to mention Marcus, but it was for their own good. If they weren't going to do anything themselves, Brian might as well have his fun while he can. Brian felt like a small child who had been given the responsibility of some important task, he overreacted, a lot. Prue felt like choking him out, but at the same time she wanted to thank him, she didn't know why though. Her heart was beating so fast she thought she might have a heart attack. Marcus felt the same way, he was just better at hiding it. Marcus's heart continued to skip beats creating that song they both seemed to have fallen in love with. After a few minutes of silence, they finally arrived at their house. Marcus got off on his side and Preu got off with Brian so they wouldn't meet in any other awkward contact. On the way into the house, they passed their huge front lawn. In the corner of the dance was a small white bench where their mother used to read to them. Around that was a huge garden filled with flowers. Their mother made it so it was only filled with Orchids, Bluebells, and Violets. She loved the color blue.

The three of them walked inside and stood near the door as the freezing air hit their hot skin. Prue walked to the lounging chair and slouched in exhaustion. Marcus and Brian followed behind her and slouched on the couch across from Prue. All of them were quiet and tired. There was a short silence before Brian stood up.

"What do you want for dinner?" Brian asked as he stood up and stretched.

Both Marcus and Prue remained silent as they slouched in their opposite surfaces. Prue had her eyes closed, as did Marcus. They both were quiet, but thinking about the same thing, each other. Brian rolled his eyes and turned towards the kitchen. Since neither of them knew what they wanted, he would choose. The fastest and best tasting food Brian could make was stew.

Their mother taught Brian and Prue how to cook from a young age. They have become very good at it over the years. Father would also make them cook for him after their mother died. Brian took out the proper utensils and ingredients he would need to make his stew. Meanwhile, Marcus and Prue were in the living room relaxing. Both of them were still staring to the ceilings thinking about each other. The tension built higher as every second passed by. The only sound anyone could hear was Brian cooking in the kitchen while he hummed. Marcus and Prue were completely silent. Preu couldn't stand the silence and the annoying hum of her brother. She stood up and walked to her room. Marcus opened his eyes and watched her leave, Brian also watched her leave. Marcus got bored of just sitting there so he stood up and walked out the kitchen. Brian seemed to be doing fine but Marcus still wanted to help. He would feel bad for intruding on their day, coming to their house then not helping with anything. Marcus was just about to speak when there was suddenly a huge crash. Brian looked up at Marcus. The crash came from Prue's room. They instantly ran to her room. When they opened the door, they saw…..
