Chapter 14: Story of Freedom Part 2

Father stepped closer to the door worried that the police would see Brian. His heart began to speed up in worry that he would be busted.

"What can I do for you officer?" Father asked in a nervous tone.

Brian froze as he heard these words. His heart sped up with happiness, he felt like crying. This was the scene in the movie where the heroine thinks their going to die, but then the hero comes to their rescue. Brian felt happier than he ever thought he could.

This was truly a dream for him. Suddenly his body began moving without his consent. Crawling to the door where he would be set free, he couldn't even feel the pain. He was painless. Father was talking with the police while Brian lay frozen on the ground. Apparently, the neighbors heard father beating the living hell out of Brian.

"It was nothing, my son and I were simply practicing for his martial arts championship." Father lied.

The cop suspiciously looked through the crack of the door and saw father's hands covered in Brian's blood. The cop instantly knew what was happening. The cop reached for the gun and glared. Father instantly knew what was happening and smiled.

"My son is kinda obsessed and sometimes gets hurt," Father said in a sad voice, even though he was lying.

Brian tried to crawl faster because it was clear that father was getting rid of them. The cop sighed with relief because he bought father's lie. The cop tipped his hat and left. Brian stopped crawling and a tear ran down his cheek. He was gone, the cop, his only chance of freedom slipped right through his fingers. Falling to the ground completely, the pain started to come back. Father smiled and laughed psychotically when the door slammed shut. He sounded like a mad scientist who had just created some powerful experiment. It was the scene in a movie where the heroine was simply saved by the person who was destined to kill them anyway. Brian completely fell apart, emotionally. With everything that had just happened, Brian started laughing just as bad as father. It was hilarious how he thought anything would come out of his efforts. He actually thought that he could ever escape this hell. Father looked down after his psychotically evil laugh. Brian was dying of laughter on the floor and he didn't like it. Father quickly bent down and grabbed Brian by his hair and pulled very hard. To his surprise, this only made Brian laugh harder. With every bit of pain, came more happiness. It sounded crazy, but this was the effect of their father's beatings.

Meanwhile, the cop was just about to leave when he took one last glimpse at their home. Quickly exiting the car, he saw father pulling Brian's hair. It would look natural the way they were practicing, but it was clearly abused. The cop ran up to the house and broke in.

Suddenly, father stopped and was caught.

Brian had described the accident in such detail that Prue felt like crying. Marcus and Prue were in awe from the happy yet tragic story Brian laid out for them.
