Chapter 11: Job Hunting 2

It has been almost an hour and they have yet to find a job. Marcus has one possible job, but it is a bit out of reach for his standards. It is a cafe, a small and decent one. Except for the workers! When he applied for a job, almost five girls in the cafe applied to him, they were all over him. Prue and Brian couldn't help but laugh along the side. Luckily, he slipped out without his crazy fangirls noticing.

Now they are looking for Brian's vet clinic. It was almost noon so after his stop, they would find a place to eat. They all had a small talk on the way to the clinic, but Marcus and Prue were almost completely silent to each other.

"C' mon guys! Can't you talk to each other, even a little?" Brian whined while walking.

Marcus and Prue glared at him and looked away. They finally reached the clinic. Marcus reached for the door and Brian grabbed his arm. Marcus looked at him annoyed, so did Prue.

"No. You two stay out here, I want to do it alone." Brian said as he went in and shut the door behind him.

Marcus and Prue sat down at opposite ends of a bench. Both of them were silent as they started the other way. Neither of them knew why they were so awkward towards each other, they just were. Both of them have thought about why they were this way, but they both came to the same conclusion, they just don't like each other. Both of them had their eyes closed, heads leaned back, and smiles on. The wind brushed against their hear and the cherry blossom petals floating passed them. The sun shone on their skin warming it up by the second. They both snapped out of their daze when Brian opened the door. The bell rang and their eyes opened.

"I got it!" Brian cheered with a smile.

Prue got up with a smile and gave her brother a tight squeeze. Marcus got up and patted him on the back with a small smile.

"Now, let's go eat. I'm starving." Prue said smiling.

They began to walk toward the nearest cafe. It was called: Love a Lot. The cafe was small and didn't have many customers, but enough to keep their business going. Fall sorts decorating the outside. There were daffodils, roses, and tulips along the walls outside. The wall was brick and almost everything was lined in metallic gold making it pop. Marcus held the door opened for them as they all walked in. The cafe was nearly empty and was just as beautiful on the inside. As they walked out of the hot sun, the cold air conditioner hit them. There were a few workers making pastries and handing out people's orders. The sunroof lets in the perfect amount of light giving the place a calm aura. Marcus and Brian sat across from Prue in a small booth in the corner. The place was quiet so they all were calm and collected.

Suddenly the cafe door slammed open causing a huge scene. There was two gangster looking high schoolers. Both of them looked mean as they scanned the cafe. They looked towards Prue and began confronting her.
